I was able to get an appt same day. I wanted to add tinsel into my hair. It was $15 for the amount I added. I believe they put in six throughout my hair. I had curly hair so I do not wash daily. I washed my hair Monday and I had them put in on Saturday. Upset that four of them already came out. They were barely on any strands of hair. I understand they shouldn't last forever but I would have liked them to last longer than one washing. Was happy with the service and ease of appt but unhappy that these didn't last long at all. read more

At first she took a look at my hair, analyzed them and told me her concern based on what I wanted. She told me right away the price I was going to pay (that honestly is on average for that level). So happy I found this place! I have gone for a haircut and color with Lorraine (multiple times) and have constantly received compliments on my hair. I was impressed with the cut and color but also with her taking the time to listen, answer my questions and offer suggestions. I can tell she cares about how her clients feel. Went in to help my dryed out, grown out, heavily damaged from going blonde hair. They are CDC compliant with safeguards, including taking your temp upon entry. This by appointment only salon is the best I've found since my hairdresser moved away 15 yrs ago! Theresa did my color & she did an amazing job! Lorraine does beautiful hair. I am super finicky. i met Lorraine when my hair was super damaged and i could not find a colorist to get it right. It was over bleached and over toned the color wasn't appealing, to say the least. I was introduced to Lorraine through a coworker and she explained it would be a project. I had to be patient, but we would get there. We did a lot of little trims and a whole bunch of color- but after several months/ we got my hair back to a healthy, rich and beautiful color. My stylist, Jenn G., started here recently. I'd follow her anywhere but I am so happy she landed here. The salon is small but really nicely decorated. Everyone there is friendly and welcoming - they even called to tell me when she was running a few minutes behind. I also really like the products they sell - I haven't seen them anywhere else. My son who is 5 also gets his hair cut by Jenn and everyone was very nice and understanding of his typical 5 year old behavior. Went to Lorraine for a blow out for a wedding I was attending. She was PHENOMENAL! My hair is fine, and doesn't hold well and my she really listened to my concerns of it not lasting. Recently came to this salon for a blow out and was not impressed. The salon is nice and clean which is why I gave the two stars instead of 1. They booked my appointment with a junior stylist which is fine, but I literally got the worst blow out I've ever gotten. I left with frizzy hair. The girl mentioned to me that she had been working at that salon for a while now. Clearly they need to focus some more time on training because my hair isn't difficult to do and nobody should ever leave a salon with frizzy hair. Will never go back again read more

I've been going to Platinum Salon for a couple of years now and like the calm laid back feel, even when they're quite busy. I think the owner really sets the tone. It's a smaller shop, VERY clean and very well organized. They only do hair. Guiselle and Lorraine are both fantastic colorists who do great work using many different techniques on long hair, short hair, curly or straight. The color is mixed in front of you at the color bar so you know your getting the brand advertised; and the care and attention is more of what I'd expect from a Manhattan salon but you're paying Long Island prices. I love my hair cuts from Guiselle too and she's given me some spectacular blowouts. I always love the results! read more
