It was a quick lil trip. I knew what I was looking for. They had so many things to choose from. So I just got what I needed. The prices were fairly reasonable. The staff were very nice and polite. The store wasn't crowded at all but they had people in there. The restroom was clean and easy to get to. They had a few deals on hair and supplies. They also were doing hair in the front part of the building. I remember when they first opened up way back around 2007 they use to be jumping. When I tell you it use to be packed and it was all kinds of supplies, products, accessories galore.. read more

It was a horrible experience the customer service was terrible the person acted like it was an inconvenience for them or they to show me the hair and when it was all said and done she didn't give me the hair that I requested so I just left it. I went and spoke with the manager and when I told them about the person they knew exactly who I was talking about. When I told her thank you for her help them or they just walked off a very nasty attitude and maybe that's why they have so many thefts there! read more

This is supposed to be the best of the best beauty supply warehouses, yet whenever I come here they never have what I need. This is honestly a huge waste of space. They need updated inventory and better products. Every time I come here to try and prevent ordering from Amazon and having to wait they always disappoint. read more

ITS TIME THAT ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT BSW AND NOT ONCE HAVE THE OWNERS APOLIGIZED AND OFFERED TO MAKE BETTER CHANGES STOP SHOPPING THERE!!! AND SPREAD THE WORD TO THE OTHERS TO KEEP POSTING YOUR COMPLAINTS!!! This place is totally rundown from the broken parking lot that's filled with holes to the inside, which is very filthy and unkept. There were only 2 employees to cover this store. It's really depressing to come here and instead of the employees greeting customers, helping customers, and being proactive, they are zoned out and very unhelpful. They are probably not being paid very well and lack the appropriate skill set. The owners should really revamp this store from top to bottom instead of letting it be to save money!! read more

Be extremely careful when shopping for beauty supplies at this place. The Caucasian girl and the Asian guy are overcharging for the supplies. At two separate times, they both tried to get me for $10. When I approached them both, they each had the same response, "oh, I'm sorry." Knowing darn well they are cheating their customers out of their money. I even spoke with the head person there and she too was very nonchalant about what her employees were doing. So, I say to you all, pay very close attention when paying for your items. Do not let them get you. I will never go there again. I have found another beauty supply store on 6th & Peoria (across from the Dollar Tree). It's been there since April 2024. It's really nice, too. Just remember, we are the ones who keep their stores open and prospering. Therefore, we should not keep patronizing them while they are attempting to steal from us. read more

The worst employee's work here. Overpriced and flat out rude. They don't know anything about hair. Don't waste your time here spend your money at Jetset Beauty, Ultimate Beauty or B&B. Your customer service is trash. read more

I was not able to go but the lady on the phone was extremely helpful when I called for keratin sticks.

My go to for hair supplies, variety and awesome service with a smile. I appreciate asking for help, advice or suggestions on what to use as well as where to find the things I need. Prices are reasonable and affordable for me. I'm definitely going to make this a favorited place. read more

Not so much great customer service cuz the employees are rude af and Lazy as hell. If you ask for help they act like your bothering them as if it isn't their job or something smh.. outside of that they get 4 starts from me because of hours, product availability ad wide selection! read more

I was looking for an electric clipper set, and they had some, but not the trusted brand I like. This place is weave-central - for women who need/want hair extensions this place has TONS of extensions. There's a fully functioning salon in the front part of the store. I can't speak to that, I did not get my 'do did there. =) read more

I hardly know where to begin. It's hard to believe this is the real place of business. Employees cannot be bothered with helping you. Because they're always out of whatever I'm looking for, I call first. Of course, that does not make a difference. I think the health dept should go in there and either shut it down or impose a fine. read more

After researching extensively for a new place to get my hair extensions, I settled on this place. I have had extensions for 18 years and would have been a repeat customer, with my average purchase including new hair and beads, at least 6 times a year. However, after the experience I had today with the associate with short green hair, I can safely say that not only will I NOT return, but I will make sure to let everyone I know who purchases extensions to never buy from this facility. The lady working in the front today, December 28 2019, at 4:00 pm, with green super short hair, was the most miserable and rude associate I've ever encountered. She was annoyed from the time my two daughters and I came up to her to check out. I felt judged and felt like she didn't even want to try to be nice or professional. Never smiled or asked if she could assist us. After answering our questions in an abrupt and annoyed manner, she told me I needed my ID to purchase the wig, extensions and supplies I had brought to the counter. When I came back in she said "you still want to get this?" I said yes. I asked her if I could heat style the extensions I was purchasing and she answered with a condescending "it's real hair." I wasn't sure what she meant by that so I said "so does that mean I can style is normally?" And she repeated "it's REAL hair." I told her I wasn't going to get the extensions and she only rang me for the wig. When I said I needed the wig cap she decided to correct me by saying I didn't SAY I wanted the wig cap. Also she continued to argue and talk in an EXTREMELY unprofessional manner to me. It was VERY obvious she didn't like me. This type of behavior from her continued the entire transaction. Best of all- when I told her at the end that I was going to complain, she said "complain all you want!" Well, apparently this is what she wants so I do plan to complain to the owner, the local newspaper, and any and ALL review websites to make sure people are aware of the way this company does business. This employee judged me, and my family, from the moment we walked in. What a hateful and unhappy person. You will continue to lose business with employees like her! read more

I went to this location to purchase hair rods and a flat iron. Throughout the store, there are large yellow signs telling the customer what we "cannot do". We cannot make exchanges or returns, we cannot use the bathrooms, we are on camera, we cannot help ourselves to some items, etc. Its really unbelievable! Who wants to spend their hard earned money at a place that clearly does not trust or honor their customer? Why be in the business that caters mostly to people of color when there is clearly lack of trust for us!?!? The store is dirty, clearly lack of effort on their part to demonstrate a care for the business or the customer. I recommend spending your money elsewhere; even if the price is a bit more. They do not deserve the business of they will take our money and slap us in the face as they do it. Please consider other options when it comes to where you shop! read more

This the OG beauty supply for my family and we braid, relax, etc hair. I love going in when the manager is there, she's informative, straightforward, & friendly. Always willing to help without hesitation. I agree some of the workers aren't on top top performance HOWEVER, they're teenage high schoolers .. whatchu expect? I always go in with what i need in mind so I've never had to ask for help except for once when I asked an elder employee (not sure of his name but he's white and always knows his way around the isles) and he helped me find the product i needed within 1 min. They get the job done without attitude. I will forever mess with this beauty supply. read more

The Braider in the salon name nirah sucks ! I booked my appointment days in advance when i got there she kept suggesting i pick a different style because it was time consuming. She has a nasty attitude and always has a smart comment don't let her do your hair. I told her i had to be at work by 3 she stopped doing my hair and took a 45 min break and not only that the whole time she was on her cellphone if she hadn't stopped constantly and keeping a conversation with the other stylist i would not have been late. She doesn't tuck your hair she tries to cut ur real hair instead of tucking it properly... I asked her was she cutting my hair she said no. I told her i didn't like my braids because my hair was sticking out she stated what u want me to do you said you didn't want me to cut it. She didn't offer to fix my hair but stood over me expecting money and continuously stating i been doing hair for years you don't kno what you are talking about... I would not recommend her at all ! I've been getting braids for yeArs and i know for a fact my hair ain't suppose to stick out raggedy ends, and braids different sizes read more

Great selection of merchandise. Customer service is horrible. The staff is rude if you are able to find a staff member to help you. None of the staff seem knowledgeable of the merchandise that is sold in the store. If you need help with something that is behind the counter good luck with that. If you can go in and don't require help then this is the place for you. If you need help, don't go! read more

OK, so if you're looking for a great deal on high quality product, don't go here. Find a coupon for ULTA, and head there. If you're looking for a fun new way to change up your hair do' with ponytail wraps, half wigs (seriously ladies, if you haven't tried one of these on before, please do it), clip-in extensions, and full wigs. They have human hair for reasonable prices, and synthetic hair for INSANELY INSANELY CHEAP! I'm talking a pony-tail to put over your own that looks amazingly realistic for $9.99. A half wig for $19.99 that goes to the middle of your back. The staff all looked like highschool kids; however, I was helped by a young girl named Sam who was the MOST HELPFUL salesperson I've met in a LONG LONG LONG time. She showed me around my options, matched my hair color perfectly, and never made me feel embarrassed or dumb. I'll be back, and I'll bring some girlfriends with me. Seriously, even if you're just a white girl, like me, you can cross over into the magical world of faux hair. Don't expect a five star experience here, but realize that you'll get a big ole' discount for it. And Sam, if you read this, you're too sweet to be stuck in the land-o-weave. You've got the personality for food and beverage, and will probably be making LOTS more money there. Look into it, and THANK YOU! read more

G to the capital H to the E - T-T-O This used to be a roller skating rink (a ghetto one) and they turned it into a massive beauty supply store. The staff is clueless and totally unhelpful. I'm not sure where they found these people. You would imagine a beauty store the size of a roller skating rink, that you would have a great selection, right? Nope. Cheap, low quality junk. Avoid the trip to the hood. They don't have anything that a Sally's doesn't have and their prices aren't any better. read more

Alright, so my friend bought '100 percent human hair' extensions here, and this isn't the first time someone was lied to at this place. She came to me to color them, I'm a licensed cosmetologist, and i have experience with extensions. I sat with bleach on them to break the laminate barrier only to find that they weren't real. They felt and smelled synthetic. After washing them and giving them a few different options, i decided to do a burn test. Human hair burns slowly and doesn't really release a foul odor. Synthetic hair curls up and burns very quickly. These did exactly that and left a terrible smell in the air. These aren't real. Don't go to places who try to take you for an idiot and sell you fake hair that claims to be real. She paid 80 for these. Ugh. read more

This place has a weird set-up. When you walk in the doors, you encounter a Metro PCS first. As you walk around the bend, into the store, you are looking right into a salon behind a half wall. Only after you walk around the backside of the salon (did this place use to be a skate center?) do you actually walk into the store area. It really should be called the World of Hair because that is what the place is comprised of more than anything else. It's okay. No different than the Asian-owned beauty stores. The only difference is that you can understand what the workers are saying as they don't immediately wait on you. I think its prices are on par with other beauty stores. All of the accessories seem to be $4.99 & up. I'll probably give it a try again as my needs require. read more

Yesterday was my first time here. I was a little nervous but had explored some half wig options online. I have thinning curly hair, lots of hair loss, and really wanted something that would blend. Upon arrival I was immediately greeted and asked if I could be helped. Armani was a wonderful and patient young woman who took so much time with me explaining different options and letting me try everything on. She gave me her opinions and even helped with hairstyle options. Armani should get a raise!! I bought two half wigs and will be back again. Prices are amazing!! Very friendly staff and lots of fun cosmetics! read more

Not a bad place for a variety of beauty supplies if you don't mind the rude cashiers who treat you as if it's the only place to shop for beauty supplies, therefore they can talk to you rudely and with passive aggressive comments to each other. "I wish I can kick out customers". "I was fighting last year and I'm not fighting anyone this year." I witnessed these comments of the customers in front of me and rudeness unprovoked to myself also when I asked in a nice way if the pos terminal (after an entire 90 seconds) always took that long, I was responded from both cashiers with "Didn't you read the door when you came in?" "People don't read!" Did they mean the external front door (in the cold) with no external lighting and about 10 postings? Save yourself the bad energy. read more

Classic bait and switch. Prices listed on items and quoted by sales staff were not honored at check out. Poor quality products not worth time or effort. I love coming here every weekend to get some hair products. The prices are fantastic and the products are very high quality. But girllll the service needs some work. The workers should be more cheerful and excited to be there. But other than that I will still be coming back. read more

The hair products was great a lot of varieties but the customer service was horrible, no one helped me or even bother to asked if I was doing alright, and the cashier miss Jordan S. had an attitude the whole time while she was ringing up my product. I will not ever patronize this place again. I purchased a hair dryer on Friday and dec9ded to go with a different brand from elsewhere and brought the blow dryer back 2 days later only to be told it had to be returned within 24 hours. HOWEVER the receipt clearly states 7 days. read more

Came here for a $40 sew in extensions ad that I saw on Craigslist. After it was done the lady told me it would be $350. Extensions looked HORRIBLE. I had open gaps where you could see the threading showing everywhere. It looked so bad I took it out a couple days later. Called to tell the lady I wanted my money back and she cussed me out. Shady place with even shadier staff. STAY AWAY. read more

eeew... Dont go here, nasty dirty and super ghetto.. Cheap hair/products, not worth the money you will spend. If you need to save money, you would be MUCH better ordering wigs and the like from Ebay via China sellers for cheap. Dont waste your time or money. I almost threw up walking in on that NASTY Carpet. Service sucks, don't make the mistake of being polite and friendly like I did, your kind gestures will be returned with harsh stares and rolling eyes. Avoid this place like the plague. I will NEVER go back. read more

Be ready to be stolen from. I specifically purchased a specific number of packages of hair (6), the cashier counted the 6 packages of hair in front of me. Horrible customer service! Employees have no idea how to guide their customers to get the best results. Hair dye shitty very poor quality, washed right out!! Refused to give me a refund! Never going back and never referring others to this crap shack! Livid!! read more

Do not come here. I first came here to get a sew-in weave. The lady who was doing my hair's son apparently had his prom that night and he kept coming in, hurrying his mom because he wanted to have his hair cut or something. So, after quickly sewing it onto my head she moved on to her son - leaving me with the most terrible hair job that I have ever encountered. From then on, I decided that I would just do clip-ins and I came back here assuming it was just the lady. I got to the counter and behind it was a bald old man who did not appear to know what he was doing. Not only do the employees not look like they know anything about hair, but the store does not actually have as much of a supply as it claims to have. They have made no effort in making this place feel reliable or safe. It still feels like a Skate City, but with cheap "beauty supplies" thrown in it. The whole atmosphere feels unsafe, the employees are unreliable, and the quality of the supplies are terrible. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. read more

This is the third time I made an appointment with my stylist not showing up at all or leaving before my appointment. Done with this place.

The customer service associates are always patient and kind with me. Been going there for a few years now.

This review if of the store not the salon part (I didn't go to the salon) Huge store. Big selection of products and hair. The only problem I noted was that a lot of the black colored synthetic hair was out of stock or they only had one or two packages, but next time I will call ahead and find out when they get a shipment in especially now that I know which product I want. I was able to get three packages of curly hair which ended up being enough for me. I don't know what people are complaining about. I went to the counter and asked a lady for help and she walked down the aisle with me, showed me different options and helped me look for the hair I needed (It was my first time getting a crochet weave) so that I could take it to my stylist to get my hair done. BTW, if you're looking for someone to do a great crochet weave go to We Dou Hair near Colfax and Quebec and ask for EJ. This will definitely be my go to store for hair products in the future and the prices were great. For example, I normally buy Creme of Nature Argan Oil Shampoo which can be about $6-7 in the drugstore and then I thought I got a deal at Walmart because I found them for a little less than $5 and then I went to this place and they had them for $3.99! I am glad I went and didn't listen to the reviews. The setup is weird because you do encounter a Metro PCS first and then a salon and then you have to walk around the salon area to get to the store so just know when you get to the store to just keep walking, you'll reach the store soon enough. read more

This was the only place I went for my hair needs until now. I purchased two what was supposed to be Persian human hair 360 lace wigs that could be bleached dyed and permed and "22 inches" in length. Needless to say BS I can't dye nor bleach the hair or lace then when we measured it, the hair was only 18 inches. So I then called the store they say call the manufacturer, then the manufacturer say they don't handle customers, so I call BSW corporate office and they don't do exchanges or returns. How the heck is it ok to sell someone a product that isn't do half of what it is supposed to be so I just wasted $547 on a lie. I will NEVER be going to this store again read more

This place was AWESOME! It's hood but it's GOOD! They had everything that I needed for my little ones hair! It was kind of crazy to walk into a metro PC and then a salon but if/when this happens to you keeeeep walking. The amazing beauty supply stuff is in the back! Loved it! read more
