She toned my ends, colored my roots and I am now scheduled to get a keratin treatment from her. My hair looks the best it ever has for SUCH a reasonable rate! OMG... Andrea is Ah-mazing ya'll! I came in because I desperately needed life back into my hair, and she totally brought it back from the dead! I needed color correction and a haircut, badly. From the minute I booked, I knew I made an excellent choice. She reached out prior to my appointment and had a phone assessment so she could know more about what I wanted and needed. Ok to start off with, this review is for Andrea who just moved to this location. And she did my hair at the other location. But get her here if you can! I am so sad I finally learned about this place during COVID. I would have loved to spend a day here with getting everything done (hair, waxing, nails) while drinking wine at their cute wine bar! It's like Tiffany blue inside with chandeliers and wood accents with old Hollywood celebrities on the wall. So classy First off I was planning on getting my hair done twice before my wedding but then COVID happened and I was beginning to think I was gonna have to home bleach myself I live in Santa Clara where things are still shut down. But hair was allowed in the east bay where my cousin lives, she booked this appointment since she is a long time customer. Her hairstylist (Robin) referred me to Andrea who LOVES doing blondes! We did a phone consultation a few weeks earlier and I was set for July 21. In the phone consultation, she mentioned a few products I should buy for after the color to either order online or buy from her! This is huge since it's not pushy at all to buy from her, but wants you to use the right stuff to keep your hair healthy! Well on July 13th, the Governor said salons in the east bay must shut down again immediately. Andrea remembered I was getting my hair done for my wedding and called me ASAP and asked if I could come in that afternoon before they shut down!!!! She went out of her way to call me for my special occasion when I'm sure she has a long list of repeat clients that she could have called. I am so happy she was able to fit me in! And she did an amazing job!!!! Plus gave me a leave in treatment to take home before the wedding to make my hair soft! She really knows what she is doing! Was even helping out the other stylist who stayed later with his client going blonde as well. The other stylist was Larry and he is literally hilarious! Andrea is simply AMAZING. Where do I begin? Her communication from the day I booked, to the day of and during every step was phenomenal. She asked questions and gently made suggestions while truly considering my opinions. I had originally gone to another stylist after not getting my hair professionally done in over two years and my hair did not quite turn out the way I wanted. After not speaking up at that appointment I started trying to convince myself my hair looked okay, within 3 weeks my hair looked awful and I was embarrassed. Finally!! FINALLY! A salon that "gets me". I blindly found this salon on Yelp and crossed my fingers and lept. Robin will be my hair dresser for life if he'll have me. He listened, made suggestions and understood what I wanted. Hair dressers, in my experience ,often don't have that combination- you get suggestions with no listening, or listening with no suggestions. He took command of my hair and I walked out with my hair looking better than it has for years. To top it all off- this beautifully shabby chic salon has a full bar. I went to see Andrea for toner service as it had been a little over 6 weeks since I had my balayage highlights done at another salon in SoCal. They had brightened up quite a bit and taken on this gold/yellowy color that I wasn't too fond of. So I asked Andrea if we could tone them down and make them a little more subtle. I showed her some pics of what I wanted and she said it was def possible. The aftermath was exactly what I wanted and I'm so so happy I went to her. The salon is clean and spacious - I really liked the decor (esp the chandeliers) and they are doing lots to ensure safety during COVID (masks, social distancing, plexi-glass separators, hand sanitizer etc) which I very much appreciate. There really are no words to describe how amazing my colorist Nancy is! I was recommended to her by a good friend and have been coming to her for about 6 years now. When I first started coming to Nancy I lived in Pismo Beach and would make a 5 hour drive to get my hair done. Recently I have relocated to the Bay Area so if timed right it only takes me one hour to get here. And that one hour is so worth it. Finding a colorist that is good with blondes is not as easy as it sounds. I, in particular like my hair white white blonde, and for most colorists that is a challenge, but never for Nancy. She is the blonde specialist, with a majority of her clients being blondes she knows what she is doing. It never fails wherever I go I get compliments on my hair color. I never hesitate to mention Nancy and The Beauty Lounge, the least I can do is help another blonde out, especially if it's a yellow/orange blonde (yuck). The Salon itself is amazing, a shop decorated beautifully with chandeliers and a very modern hip feel to it. It's nice that I can come in after my workout and enjoy a glass of Champagne or a Mimosa while I get my hair done. There is also conveniently a coffee shop next door so while you process you can run over and pick up a latte or what not. As far as Parking goes there is a parking garage located not even one block away across the street. Even during the rainy stormy season it wasn't a problem getting to the salon, that's how close it is. As I mentioned before I've been coming to Nancy for the past 6 years, I honestly wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair, she really is that good. So if you're in need or know someone who needs a colorist specializing in blondes, Nancy is your girl. I highly recommend this salon and would give it more stars on Yelp if it were possible. I have an update to this review, i just recently had my haircut here by Michael, and i have to say that I absolutely love it. I was totally hesitant to cut my hair because I've been growing it out for almost 2-3 years. Michael is very attentive and did a full consultation before he chopped away, which to me is 110% important to me. He asked how i wanted it to look, how i wanted to be able to style it etc. Important questions to someone who Is so resistant to the scissors. Needless to say he took about 5-6 inches off and I love it! My hair is so healthy and bouncy now. Funny thing is in the past 3 months since I've cut my hair it's probably grown more than it has in the 3 years that i was actually growing it out. Of course cause my bleach blonde locks are much healthier now. I most definitely recommend Michael to anyone looking to get a haircut!!! read more
