Pricing on some items is a bit high, and some products are better than others (skip the reusable paper towels here as they leave lint on everything!) A few areas for improvement: While browsing the store, the cashier asked if there were any refills she could get started for me. I told her what refill I needed, and she replied that I can get that myself. Why ask then? Better to not ask the question if not willing to assist. Another time, I was talking about the dishwasher soap options, and I said I was surprised to see the plastic-wrapped pods at a zero waste store. The associate responded with a half-chuckle, and said "it's not plastic, it's a coating." Huh? Polyvinyl alcohol is a plastic that "dissolves" in water, but as we know with plastic by now, it never disappears but simply becomes microplastic. This is common knowledge in the zero waste world. The staff could be better informed about PVA in case other customers ask about these pods. During my last visit, the clerk put a large, plastic-coated sticker onto my jar without asking. It was the first time this happened. I was shocked and immediately removed the sticker and threw it in the trash outside. I would have been very upset if the sticker didn't come off cleanly, as I love the cute label that is currently on my jar that they covered up. I can't believe a zero waste store would generate waste like that, and add stickers to a customer's container without asking. Please rethink this!

She was the first one to respond to my online requests and one of the few that took the time to call me to discuss my options. Since I was researching everything from far away, she was very helpful. My wedding day went off without a hitch and my makeup looked amazing and stayed on all day. I practically needed some paint thinner and a chisel to get it off at the end of the night. I am also Indian, and was having an Indian wedding, so I needed someone who would be able to work with my skin tone/makeup needs. I take care of my skin but (or maybe, therefore) do not wear make up daily. I did not want to be overdone, and my husband wouldn't have liked it either. My mom NEVER wears makeup, so was very hesitant to even get it done for the wedding, but my sister and I convinced her it would be better for the photos (we were TOTALLY right). Kris made me look like myself, but also STUNNING. I did not feel overdone, and would often forget that I was wearing makeup, until I'd catch a glimpse in the mirror-- it was like I was lightly--but authentically-- photoshopped. Same thing for my mom and sister... we still, to this day, talk about how Kris walked an incredibly fine line, and made us feel SO good, both in terms of how we looked AND felt (she is so chill and calming! Her studio is great.) We still revel in the compliments we get from anyone who sees the photos! She matched my makeup to my skin, and my red/orange/gold wedding dress (traditional Indian colors) perfectly. Kris also recommended my hair styles who I was very happy with. I did the trial the morning of one of my other wedding events earlier that week, which was a genius idea she suggested. I could go on and on, but I think the biggest compliment I can give Kris is: makeup was something I was not particularly looking forward to, and my experience with Kris was probably one of my favorite memories of the whole wedding.
