I paid extra for callus removal on a basic pedicure, not gel. One of the young men working there put the solution on my feet didn't even let it sit in and immediately brought out the callus grater, and went way too hard. So he actually cut me on the side of my big toe, which didn't need to be filed. He took a layer of skin off & it bled, and it really hurt.So that was really frustrating. .Pictures aren't pleasant, but I did want to post it. I had to wear a big band aid around my toe to wear sandals until it healed finally. EDIT!! I'm want to say that I'm grateful that when I called the salon to let them know.. the manager Anna immediately said they would give me a free pedicure voucher for when I could come back. And they honored that when I went on my birthday last week with the best friend and had a really good experience. They one time that was unpleasant, was an isolated incident. The first time I came here was out of convenience because it's close to where'd I just moved. They did a god job and I left happy! Second time, I wanted the color bubble bath with the most simple flowers on 2 fingers. I showed pictures. After 2 hours and 15 minutes and they could NOT get the flowers right what so ever, I said forget the flowers I have to get home to my babies. They finished at 2h and 40 minutes for the easiest nails ever and I didn't get what I wanted. They didn't charge me which was nice. But I felt awful, literally got in my car and teared up because I felt so bad that they didn't get paid for their time and I was still unhappy with my nails. I also felt obligated to come back and give them another chance. So I did!! My mistake honestly. I am in a wedding this upcoming week (I let them know that) and booked a gel pedi and hard gel fill. Toes look great! The nails look good too, but the experience was not. The top coat on the chrome was beading and separating for some reason. The guy clearly noticed it and didn't care cause he was running behind and rushing. When I said something he said to me "yeah because you hit it on the light" uhhhh no I did not? And if I did, I would have let you know right away. It was obvious that it wasn't from me? He asked if I could come back to fix it. I said no I can't? It took 2.5 hours for my toes and nails and I told them I have an important event this week. I have babies at home and a busy schedule. Why'd he make me feel like it was my fault? And then said "oh my god" when I asked him to fix it right then. Of course everyone in the entire Solon is looking and listening. How awkward. I really appreciated how honest and thoughtful she was. I knew then and there she had a lot of integrity and care. Once I arrived, everything felt relaxing and intentional. They're appointment-only, which I loved because it meant my time didn't feel rushed at all (unlike other salons I've been to). It truly felt like protected, one-on-one service. After removing my Gel X, Kim recommended I not do builder gel YET and instead use a strengthening treatment for a few weeks. She didn't push a service just to make money, which says a lot. Also, their tools and cleanliness really stood out. The electric file was super gentle (no burning at all), and everything felt high quality and well cared for. Kim and Kevin were so kind, the space was relaxing, and the espresso was amazing. You can tell they genuinely care about their clients and their work.
