I went to KJ Nails last week while on vacation and unfortunately had a very disappointing…read moreexperience. I got a regular gel manicure and arrived with clean, nearly trimmed, well-maintained nails, as I don't regularly get my nails done. During the manicure, the nail tech used a drill bit extensively around my cuticles, which I felt was completely unnecessary given the condition of my nails. After I left, I noticed several of my fingers feeling sore. As the polish has grown out, I can now clearly see damage to the bottom of my nail beds with the "ring of fire" caused by over-filing. I am extremely upset and frustrated that I will now have to wait for my nails to grow out and recover for the next 4-6 months. I would strongly encourage anyone considering an appointment here to be aware of this experience.

Not that long ago I came here with a friend to get our nails done. It was my first time at Y.O.U.R…read more Beauty and Nails. I wanted a regular polish pedicure and manicure. The pedicure was great, no complaints at all, but the manicure was not that good. First, the polish application was too thick (I think it was at least three layers of nail polish ), so it started lifting and peeling really quickly. Not a huge fan of that. Second, I was not very pleased with the cuticle removal process. Quite a bit was was left behind, so that part of the service felt a little rushed. For my friend, when she was getting her pedicure they accidentally used the wrong color on one of her feet, so they had to start the process all over again since the gel had already set. To their credit, they fixed it without complaint and they were very apologetic about it. For her manicure, she wanted acrylics, and it seemed like the first technician who started the set didn't really know how to do it, so she waited for another employee to be available and switched with her. Overall, the employees were all very nice, the prices are affordable and the place looks well kept. P.S. They do charge a 3% fee if paying with a credit card, but they also have a fee-free ATM inside. Also, they get very busy, so I would recommend making an appointment rather than walking in.

I've been getting my nails done regularly for years. This place has been one of the worst…read moreexperiences. The first time I came here was out of convenience because it's close to where'd I just moved. They did a god job and I left happy! Second time, I wanted the color bubble bath with the most simple flowers on 2 fingers. I showed pictures. After 2 hours and 15 minutes and they could NOT get the flowers right what so ever, I said forget the flowers I have to get home to my babies. They finished at 2h and 40 minutes for the easiest nails ever and I didn't get what I wanted. They didn't charge me which was nice. But I felt awful, literally got in my car and teared up because I felt so bad that they didn't get paid for their time and I was still unhappy with my nails. I also felt obligated to come back and give them another chance. So I did!! My mistake honestly. I am in a wedding this upcoming week (I let them know that) and booked a gel pedi and hard gel fill. Toes look great! The nails look good too, but the experience was not. The top coat on the chrome was beading and separating for some reason. The guy clearly noticed it and didn't care cause he was running behind and rushing. When I said something he said to me "yeah because you hit it on the light" uhhhh no I did not? And if I did, I would have let you know right away. It was obvious that it wasn't from me? He asked if I could come back to fix it. I said no I can't? It took 2.5 hours for my toes and nails and I told them I have an important event this week. I have babies at home and a busy schedule. Why'd he make me feel like it was my fault? And then said "oh my god" when I asked him to fix it right then. Of course everyone in the entire Solon is looking and listening. How awkward. I really appreciated how honest and thoughtful she was. I knew then and there she had a lot of integrity and care. Once I arrived, everything felt relaxing and intentional. They're appointment-only, which I loved because it meant my time didn't feel rushed at all (unlike other salons I've been to). It truly felt like protected, one-on-one service. After removing my Gel X, Kim recommended I not do builder gel YET and instead use a strengthening treatment for a few weeks. She didn't push a service just to make money, which says a lot. Also, their tools and cleanliness really stood out. The electric file was super gentle (no burning at all), and everything felt high quality and well cared for. Kim and Kevin were so kind, the space was relaxing, and the espresso was amazing. You can tell they genuinely care about their clients and their work.
