There is free parking, but parking is tight if you go during lunch time, weekends, etc. I came here because it was my 22 month old's first "real" haircut. When I say real haircut, I mean, not me trying to clean it up and butchering it. The price seems reasonable for a first haircut. I'm sure I could have gone to Supercuts or somewhere else for a cheaper cut. We went during winter break, during the week, so it was pretty much dead. As soon as I walked in, I was like oh no! This place is not only for haircuts, but it's a toy store, ugh! I knew what I was Getting into. I'll get to that part at the end. Amy, I believe was her name, did a beautiful job getting my son to relax and not stress out about his haircut. I mean she was just amazing with him. I was able to sit in a chair in front of him to help keep him chill as well. There was also a tv and he got to watch Bluey. But quite honestly, he was more interested in looking in the mirror and seeing what was going on. He moved a little at the end when she was trying to clean up the back and sides, so I'm sure it wasn't totally easy. But it's not like he was all over the place. When we checked out, she gave us this credit card looking thing to put in a slot so he could get a prize. It was a sticker, cool enough, he loves sticker. It came in one of those clear egg type containers. You might as well have just given him a sticker and not wasted the container. He would have been just as happy. When it was time to leave he started screaming because he couldn't take a stuffed animal home, which of course was for sale. I had to deal with the screaming until we drove off. I understand places like this. Want to make a little extra money... But for a toddler who doesn't understand that he can't have a toy is insanely annoying for a parent. That's was one of my huge annoyances with the place. Secondly, his haircut was just okay. Some places in the back were kinda choppy and around his ears aren't perfect, but for the most part it was pretty good. Like I said, it can't be easy cutting a 22 month old's hair. I would have taken him back but I didn't want to deal with the 'screaming for toy." I'm on the fence about going back. I've had some friends recommend some regular places to get your haircut and employees that do a great job with kids. But just to be clear, Amy did a wonderful job keeping him chill for his first experience with getting a haircut. It was the high stimulation with the toys that did it for me.

So here it is: I had an 11am appointment when I got there she had 1 in the chair 2 in the bowl and one waiting. I asked the girl waiting what time her appointment was and she also had a 11 am appointment with Denise. At 12pm someone new walked in and she ended up putting that person ahead of myself and the other 11 am appointment. After patiently waiting, at 2:30 pm having only been washed and conditioned, I asked Denise why someone who came after me eas being taken before me. She began to yell at me telling me that the person that came at 12 had Somewhere to be. I told her that I did as well as it was my bday wknd and I was headed out of town. Instead of taking accountability she blamed me for not informing her that I had to be somewhere I also mentioned that she had two 11am appointments and asked why we pay to hold appointment times if it's not even our appointment time. She yelled that she could double book if she wanted and she could let her assistant do my hair if I wanted. I asked if the cost would be the same and since she said yes I opted to wait and get serviced by the person I was paying for and not for someone in training.

Nonetheless, this place still gets the job done right. I walked in on a Sunday around 3:45 PM and, despite seeing about 3-4 people ahead of me, I was seated by 4:35 PM - not a bad wait at all! I opted for the wash, cut, and blowout, which came out to a total of $35. I was finished by 5:05 PM, so the service was quick and efficient. (You can call ahead and make an appointment as well). They also let you check the front and back of the hair with a mirror to make sure you like it. Open on Saturdays and Sunday - so perfect for those who are busy/don't have time on the weekdays and need something quick. A heads up: they only accept cash or Zelle, so come prepared. Street parking is available. Overall, If you want a simple, straightforward, budget-friendly haircut without the fancy extras, this salon is a solid choice.

Absolute celebrity barber energy. Also they accidentally put cheese on my cheeseburger which somehow made the whole experience even better. Light snacks, like cranberries and nuts are provided along with hot tea options, and citrus flavored water. The space is very nice. There are locker rooms with plush spa robes and complementary slippers. The locker room has two steam showers if you want to wash yourself after your massage. They also provide hair products to try as well as a Dyson hair dryer. I was definitely very impressed with the luxurious feel of the spa, however, was turned off by the receptionist who checked me in - her robotic, transactional nature was starkly juxtaposed against the warmth of the spa. I noticed she was the same with all customers so it wasn't personal but interaction with her was unsettling. I booked the 60min signature hydrafacial and the esthetician was welcoming and willingly customized my facial based on my requests. No major issues encountered but I noticed we started 10 minutes late and ended 10 minutes early so I thought marketing it as a 60min experience was a bit misleading. Also note the 60min Signature Hydrafacial does not include any hand/neck massages nor boosters nor light therapy so the $285 price was much more expensive than my usual spa. I will not return for another facial but may try massage in the future. We also booked pedicures and again the space is beautiful!! We were given a palette to select colors and the ladies were extremely friendly! My toes came out adorable! I found the seating to be very uncomfortable for a short person despite many pillows placed behind me for support so I honestly struggled to enjoy the experience but the space was very nicely decorated and clean looking. We were offered tea and snacks at the beginning as well. Overall, this was a very nice spa. I found it fairly expensive and overpriced, but I recognize beautiful spaces have a cost and that's what I should've expected in the River Oaks area. There is complementary validated parking!
