This review is entirely based on Beauty and Me, LCC's customer service. I purchased a Groupon for eyelash extensions with Beauty and Me, LCC on Tuesday. I went to the website and scheduled an appointment through the online system they use, StyleSeat. I scheduled the appointment for that Saturday at noon. That same day, I emailed the owner, Naura, asking if I could come in before the appointment to test an area to see if I was allergic to the product. She returned my email the following day saying she did not feel comfortable working with a client who suspects an allergy to the product. I was disappointed but understood and asked her to cancel my appointment on Saturday. This took place on Wednesday, three days before the scheduled appointment. Naura responded to my request Friday morning, the day before the appointment. She told me that I must cancel the appointment through StyleSeat because she does not have access to my account. When I logged on to Style Seat, it was after noon so a $100 late cancelation fee for canceling less than 24 hours before the appointment was now in effect. I had the choice of canceling the appointment and being charged $100 or not showing up for the appointment and being charged $200. Neither option seemed fair since I had asked Naura to cancel the appointment in writing three days before the appointment. So I contacted Naura and StyleSeat to see if they could cancel the appointment without the late fee due to the circumstances. Leah from StyleSeat responded and sent Naura instructions on how to cancel the appointment on her end. Naura went in the system, canceled the appointment and charged my credit card the $100 late cancellation fee. She did this after telling me that she was not comfortable working with me; after receiving a written cancelation notice 3 days prior to the appointment; after waiting two days to respond back; and after lying about not being able to cancel the appointment on her end though StyleSeat. I believe most business owners would have waived the late fee under the circumstances but Naura chose to stick to the fine print. read more

Unfortunately I have to agree with all the negative reviews this place has. I was just refused service because I wouldn't upgrade. Just because I asked a question about the upgrade, she thought that I wanted the fuller lashes and I wouldn't be happy with a classic set. I reiterated again and again that I just want what was covered in the Groupon, which was a classic set, and I understood what that meant. She said that she was not comfortable doing that because she didn't think I would be happy with it. She was running about a half hour late, and I got the sense that she wanted to get to her next appointment and when she found out I was not going to upgrade, I wasn't worth her time. Of course I cannot say that for a fact, that is just my best guess based on the fact that she was trying to talk me out of the appointment after I was already there. I even said that I did not want a refund, I wanted to get started, but she refused to start the appointment because she said she "felt awkward". I said that she was the one making it awkward, I just wanted exactly what I paid for, and she kept saying that she didn't think I would like it. To start, I placed a call to Beauty and Me llc to schedule an appointment and the woman answers the phone with a professional....."yeah"?!! I begin trying to schedule my appointment while she continues to speak to somebody else at the salon then responds to me..." I can't hear you". Well no shit, how can you hear me when your speaking to someone else. First impression not good so far. My 94 year old grandmother loves shopping Groupon and bought a mink eyelash extensions for my honeymoon. First timer and I was super excited! So, I start to make my appointment by phone and she tells me I have to make the appointment through Groupon's website. I need to enter in my credit card info for no show and/or cancellations because she doesn't take credit card. Hum? Birmingham salon that doesn't take credit card. Strange! She then stated and this is where I am blown away... " your actually their (Groupon's) client not mine". WOW! Wasn't sure what else I needed to purchase, but it's a new procedure for me so I hang up and go online. No success. Style Seat page not found. I call back to ask what I should do. She says I will check it out, call me back. Going great so far. I call back, for the 3rd time, getting aggravated fast. She says, website seems to be down and there's isn't anything I can do, she doesn't have anything to do with "their" website. I'm like...why can't I just make the damn appt with you. This is getting a tad ridiculous. She begins to tell me that her 4 clients there had no problem scheduling! Fantastic! Helps me out alot right? I said that's it....I will just get a refund for the purchase. I don't have time for this BS. I will gladly spend my money someplace else. Not recommended. Ms. Thang needs customer service 101. The owner of this business is incredibly rude. After purchasing a Groupon for a service there, I called the listed number to make an appointment. I was confused because it was a (734) area code, so I was trying to confirm that I had the Birmingham location. She got irritated with me because we had a bad connection and started yelling what is your name, what is your name. I would not tell her because I wasn't even sure I had the right phone number, so I hung up. I called back the following day and she asked me if I was the same person who called the day before, and I said, "yes" and so told me that she refused to honor my Groupon and that I would be getting a refund. This is obviously a fake hate page! Look at my lashes OMG Naura does exceptional work! Google her business and photos. She is also kind, board licensed, years experienced, and always goes above and beyond to make me look great! Her salon is clean and welcoming! The location is perfect, as it's in a building with hair stylists, nail techs, other esthetician's etc... Some places are cheaper and lack basic experience with lashes and poor sanitation. Naura exceeded my expectations from day one. She's knowledgeable and pays attention to details. Go there if you don't mind paying for quality work! I get so many compliments and I've grown to love Naura as a person! It's great that she accepts GROUPON, considering her skill level, experience, license and great Birmingham Location. Purchased a Groupon for a full set of eyelash extensions (supposedly at a $200 value). (Please go to google reviews and read the many complaints other Groupon buyers wrote which is all similar to each other! Everyone is saying the same thing. Naura is scamming the Groupon buyers). Made the appointment through style seat which required you to hold the appointment with a credit card. Arrived to the appointment and Naura and I greeted. She asked me to take a seat in her chair prior to putting on my extensions. She stated since I was a new client she needed to have a consultation with me prior to applying my extensions. During the consultation she continuously tried to upsale me on spending additional money outside the Groupon if I wanted the lashes to be noticeable. She stated the groupon only covered natural lashes which means you will not be able to see them at all. She told me I would not be happy with the Groupon lashes and recommended that I upgraded for $45. (Well no one pays for invisible lashes) I told her I did not want to pay any additional money and that her Groupon was very misleading and felt like a scam to get clients into her studio. I told her to go ahead and put the natural lashes on me anyways but she refused stating I had already made it clear that's not what I want. So I asked her was she refusing to service me at all. She stated I could just pay for the consultation and be refunded back for the Groupon. I informed her that I would not be paying for a consultation she forced me to have because at the beginning of the appointment she stated it was required since I was a new client (she never stated it cost for her to talk to me). Naura got very defensive, rude and demanding and at that point I no longer felt comfortable getting any service from her. I tried to shake her hand and thank her to leave on good terms but she declined. And kept asking how was I going to pay for the consultation. I restated that I purchased a Groupon and only arrived to get serviced of that Groupon and never asked for a consultation. I told her to have a nice day and left her studio. Few minutes later I was notified that Naura charged $25 to my credit card that I was required to put on file to hold the appointment. I text her that she was not authorized to charge my card and she stated that she charged me for the consultation that I received. I made it clear that a consultation was never asked for nor was I informed that she would be charging me. Long story short she sent me threats about having her lawyer contact me and fake emails about criminals charges if i void the charges. None of which scared me at all! I reported her business to my credit card company who now have her beauty and me company on their watch list for fraud and thankfully I have a great credit card company who with no problem returned the $25 back to my account at their own expense. It disturbs me that they will let her have the $25 since it was such a low amount but I will be posting my experiences on every platform to hopefully avoid others from getting scammed by Naura! read more

The owner of this salon is completely unprofessional I used a Groupon with her and paid an extra $50 for an upcharge on longer fuller lashes. First of all every where I've been to get my lashes done they clean and sanitize products and clean your lids before applying the lashes she did not. She was extremely gentle putting the lashes on once finished I handed her the extra $50 and swiped my Groupon to used as i was getting ready to leave she tells me tip was not included in price I obviously was aware of that I was chosing not to tip because my lashes looked horrible. She pushed a tip for a good $10 mins until I said tip is not required. One side is fuller then the other the lashes started to fall off a day after getting them now I know lashes fall off for the first day but oh my gosh I feel like I already need them done again but beside the point I contacted Groupon and told them about my experience they gave me a full refund and I left a review on Groupon two days later she calls me says I want to talk to you about your false review on Groupon I didn't chose to talk with her she then insisted on calling my phone over and over again I didn't answer she then sends me an email stating she's going to contact her attorney because I left false statements and didn't pay my full charges well i could have chose to just use the Groupon and walk out paying nothing extra I chose not to tip her because of bad services and unprofessional personality I will never send anyone her way and I will tell everyone about the experience I had with her do not waste your time and do not let her harrase you. I totally agree with above person . The owner Naura has horrible manners when you call or text her about your eyelash that their is a problem she flips out and blames it on you not her work. She doesn't want to accept that its something she did wrong or that every person has different types of eyes and issues can go wrong. Instead of her saying okay I totally understand maybe the glue didn't hold right on your eyes, she says you did something to them you must of ripped them out yourself. As a professional you have to work with your clients make them happy especially since you want to charge so much, no one will come back if your this way with your clients . Then she wants you to review her on groupon so people can see her but why would I give you a good review if you argue with your clients blaming them, if you could admit that it was something you might of used different, I would totally understand. Very dissatisfied, costumer service was terrible. Started off by purchasing a groupon which included a full set and a fill. When I arrived for my appointment I was offered an upgrade for "glamour lashes" which was EXTREMELY over priced considering I had already paid for my groupon. Then my lashes fell out almost immediately, when I contacted the owner Nora she was very rude. Instead of focusing on satisfying the costumer Nora blamed me for why my lashes had fallen out saying, "I pulled them out on my own." I ended up canceling my fill appointment after the terrible interaction I had with the owner. Everyone save your money and go somewhere else, especially if you're thinking about buying the groupon; it is almost full price by the time she adds all the additional charges on. read more
