After my first massage, I knew that I wanted to see Emily regularly. I've had quite a few massages in the past, but they all seemed to be missing something; after my first massage with Emily, I felt a deep level of peace and groundedness that I had been yearning for after all of those past massages but never could find. First, Emily herself radiates a powerful energy of peace, warmth, and compassion. You feel that she genuinely cares about you and your wellness, and wants to understand you and what you want for yourself. She is very patient, and very kind. She is also very communicative and quick to respond to a question or request you may have, and is also very accommodating if you need to reschedule. Second, she gives wonderful massages. They are the right amount of pressure--firm but not crushing, but not too gentle that you don't feel any release in your muscles. They focus on your whole body, from your feet to your ears to your face and head (something that I have never received from past massages, which would focus heavily on just one area of my body [mostly my back], even though I never specified a focus point). From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and felt welcomed. The spa had a peaceful, calming atmosphere that immediately helped me relax. Before the treatment started, we did a hair and scalp analysis, which I found really informative. The specialist showed me the condition of my scalp, explained what she observed, and discussed what my hair might be lacking and ways to improve its health. Afterward, I was taken to a private room and provided with a robe. The treatment began with a hair wash and the specialized water therapy used during head spa treatments. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect since it was my first time, but the experience was incredibly soothing. I also received a massage on my head, neck, and arms, which made the treatment even more relaxing. I left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and like I had finally taken some time for myself. My hair felt noticeably softer and healthier afterward as well. My only suggestion would be that I wish the water therapy portion lasted a little longer because it was one of my favorite parts of the experience.
