When I decided to treat myself to a massage after a long day weekend of moving, I landed on Davis Massage Center because of the amazing Yelp reviews, and because of the ability to book online. My appointment was with Penny, and after finding my way upstairs, I was promptly greeted by her. There isn't really a waiting area, so there isn't really a point to getting there too early, but that didn't bother me. Once I was greeted I was brought back to Penny's room where we went over what I wanted, and my personal preferences for essential oils, lotions, pressure, etc. Once my massage started I was in pure bliss. The room was the perfect temperature, and my massage was heavenly. I actually ended up drifting off towards the end because I was just SO comfortable. A body sore from some recent long hikes, I finally scheduled the gifted massage from a few friends. Katie was so in tune with my body and muscles, applying the right amount of pressure for relief AND relaxation, I almost fell asleep multiple times. This place is my favorite in Davis so far. After a very long and stressful work week I decided to treat myself to a massage. So glad that I found Davis massage center and Kelly. I came in and Kelly was literally waiting for me as soon as I walked in. She led me to one of the two rooms and I had to fill out a questionnaire about what kind of pain I was experiencing. Since I came early filling out the questionnaire didn't cut into my massage. The room is very inviting and puts you at ease right away. I told Kelly that I was having shoulder and back pain so she focused on those two areas. Everything she did, she asked first about the pressure, if I wanted more and if it was ok to use scented oil. Some places and masseurs have a routine and stick to it. I also liked how her hands were warm, not clammy at all. Plus the room was nice and toast as well. In my opinion the 30 minutes went by way too quickly. But since it was my first time I didn't want to be there for an hour and not enjoy the massage. After the massage was over she offered a warm towel to wipe the excess oils off and a glass of water if I were thirsty. There isn't a waiting room so I wasn't able to book another appointment, standing room only. For payment they do accept cash,card, and check. read more

I booked an appointment for my boyfriend as an anniversary gift. He showed up at the correct time and date for his appointment only to come straight home afterward. It turned out that someone else had come in and stolen his spot. I'm disappointed that they did not have a thorough way of checking for the correct customer information. Chelsea offered my boyfriend to come back a couple of hours later. I ended up paying full price despite the mishaps. My boyfriend did say that it was an amazing massage, one of the best that he's ever had in his life, and insisted that I leave a good review. read more

i try to visit as often as possible; cool business in davis. they have cushy massage tables. the entry way is a procession of hanging plants -- giving one the feeling of escaping reality through a jungle-scape of plants. every precaution is taken against covid, so you can actually relax and not worry. excellent temperature control so you stay properly heated or cooled during the massage. you can treat yourself afterwards to a milkshake nearby--situated downtown makes it very convenient. you leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. very zen environment. read more

She's clearly very knowledgeable and is great at adjusting the massage based on your needs. Chelsea is an excellent therapist--she's good enough to put you to sleep, but she's also adept at treating problem areas (sciatic nerve, in my case) and at responding to feedback. During my last treatment with her, she worked my lower back, glutes, and legs for the hour, and my sciatic nerve really felt much better. read more

Kelly is an amazing massage therapist! I have booked 90min and even 120min full body Swedish massages w/ her because she is that good. I have had many professional massages around the Sacramento area and her table is by far the softest and most comfortable, more like a massage bed. She has excellent technique that will have you leaving refreshed. Just be sure to account for parking because it can get crowded sometimes. read more

Very small, but well appointed and pleasant. Katie was very friendly, easy to talk to and provided one of the best massages I've had in awhile. I have had massages from various therapists, and Chelsea is by far my favorite; and she's even better than those at large facility, professional-type spas and the ones at five star resorts (not to mention you pay triple). It only took me one 60 min massage to be convinced, which I then subsequently bought a 10 one-hour package deal immediately after. Anyway, I highly recommend Chelsea! This hidden little gem is amazing! My boss gave me a gift certificate for my birthday and I called on Monday and got an appointment for Thursday to see Bryanne and she was perfection! Bryanne was incredible! I felt like I was getting a massage from a goddess with a thousand arms. I often have trouble relaxing--hence the massage--even during massages, but I felt my stress and brain worries draining away the whole time. Bryanne met with me ahead of time to ask about my pressure preference and areas that were bothering me. She did a phenomenal job of listening. I've never felt so relaxed after a massage, and never had such a pleasant and relaxing experience during. This place was horrible, the worst massage I have ever had. They were late to begin with and I was waiting outside, the place was not even open on a weekday before 12pm. The room wasn't ready, the massage therapist was quickly trying to clean up the room as we were both walking in. Not only did the place look shabby, but my therapist was sick! She said it was just allergies, however, she sounded like a frog and was coughing uncontrollably throughout my massage. I made the massage appointment because I've been experiencing a lot of stress in my life lately and just wanted a relaxing massage. It is VERY difficult to relax when your massage therapist is coughing all over you. Now looking back, I wish I would just have stood up, got dressed and left, but I was really wanting a massage and wishing the massage would get better. This place is in a bad location where you can hear street traffic and it was far from relaxing when my therapist had to restart the relaxing music several times during my massage. I left the place feeling more stressed than I had when I came in and worried that I might get whatever cold she had. I also left with $70 less in my pocket, which was $5 more than their website advertised for a student discount. This place is a joke, and I don't recommend going there! read more

Made last minute reservations on Friday night for Sunday afternoon massages for both me and my freshman son (his first). Online reservation system was super easy to use and much appreciated at 11pm. Pennie was my therapist and did a phenomenal job of attacking my stressed out knotted up back. Maria did a great job in getting my son to relax after midterms, to the point he "thinks" he may have dosed off! Would highly recommend and plan on making many visits during the next 4 years my son will be at UC Davis!! read more
