Afterward, I was taken to a private room and provided with a robe. The treatment began with a hair wash and the specialized water therapy used during head spa treatments. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect since it was my first time, but the experience was incredibly soothing. I also received a massage on my head, neck, and arms, which made the treatment even more relaxing. I left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and like I had finally taken some time for myself. My hair felt noticeably softer and healthier afterward as well. My only suggestion would be that I wish the water therapy portion lasted a little longer because it was one of my favorite parts of the experience. I've had quite a few massages in the past, but they all seemed to be missing something; after my first massage with Emily, I felt a deep level of peace and groundedness that I had been yearning for after all of those past massages but never could find. First, Emily herself radiates a powerful energy of peace, warmth, and compassion. You feel that she genuinely cares about you and your wellness, and wants to understand you and what you want for yourself. She is very patient, and very kind. She is also very communicative and quick to respond to a question or request you may have, and is also very accommodating if you need to reschedule. Second, she gives wonderful massages. They are the right amount of pressure--firm but not crushing, but not too gentle that you don't feel any release in your muscles. They focus on your whole body, from your feet to your ears to your face and head (something that I have never received from past massages, which would focus heavily on just one area of my body [mostly my back], even though I never specified a focus point). As she combines elements of Swedish massage, Thai massage, Shiatsu, Reiki, and other techniques in her style, her massages truly stand apart. Get in Touch Davis is awesome! Iris is a very knowledgable and skilled massage therapist. I am a marathoner with a reoccurring over-use injury in my left glute and hamstring but I am stubborn and keep running. This injury is not debilitating but it definitely can cause a lot of tightness and soreness at times. Iris has worked on me in the past and is seeing me again, currently, as I begin to train for Napa. We are being proactive and trying to work out some scar tissue we feel has built up in that area. She is very strong and can apply excellent pressure when needed/wanted. I say "wanted" too, because she is very respectful of what a person can handle or what they want in the way of pressure. But she is strong! She knows exactly where to go to help my legs/glutes release. I also feel very comfortable at Get In Touch Davis. The facility is cozy and private. I would highly recommend Get in Touch Davis and Iris whether you are dealing with an injury or just want to go relax and loosen up. read more

I'm new to Davis, but a long-time fan of healing therapies and all they can do for a busy sporting life: keep you on the road, no matter the unintended abuse you may suffer! And I'd heard good things about Tanya's massage practice, so followed up on another client's referral to visit Serenity Wellness. I was not disappointed! Tanya's new colleague Carolyn is more than qualified for the kind of sport therapy I need - having suffered injuries over the last months, I enjoy her years of experience in helping get me back in action. Serenity Wellness is conveniently close to downtown Davis, but removed from the busyness - they have created a relaxing and respectful atmosphere for expert treatment. I'm a long distance runner with lots of "trouble spots". Iris, being a runner herself understands this and has been amazing at working on those trouble areas. It's made a BIG difference in my day to day pain level. She listens to what her clients needs are and is very good about checking in on how pressure is etc. It's easy to get find an appointment that is convenient for you and the office and massage room are clean and a welcoming environment. Not only has she had advanced training in massage therapy, she is also a registered nurse and is thus better able to relate massage therapy to an holistic approach to wellness. As a Master Athlete and having physical issues all my life, Irish takes her Art to the "healing level" of body work.
