I waited a good 10min before I was sat down in one of the chairs and waited another 10 before being serviced. That wasn't unusual nor uncommon to me. But it's also for the eyebrow threading empire that is Eastland Center. There are no fewer than three separate eyebrow threading places in this mall. Two are in kisoks, and the third is a full-fledged salon (hidden in the least traveled corridor in the mall, but super convenient in terms of quick escape routes, which will be discussed in more detail in a few seconds...) For all I know, Eastland Mall might be to eyebrow threading what NYC's Little Italy used to be to restaurants: lots of different storefronts, but only one kitchen. Or these places might actually be real competitors, which would explain the crazy emphasis they place on giving out loyalty cards. Either way, all three get the job done really well and at a good price--- standard eyebrow threading is $8 across the board. I generally pick which one to go to on any given trip by quickly cruising through and determining which has no wait list. If I happen to go on a Saturday evening, I choose the salon, because Eastland Center can be a little...exciting...on the weekends, and that one is closest to the mall exit and it's the most private. From what I've seen, none of these places has a public phone number, and they don't take appointments. But they do take credit cards. And tips are appreciated.

I also got an eyebrow tint here before, which is a natural and subtle tint for the eyebrows. They ended up taking one of them before me, some man getting his ears waxed, and he screamed the entire time making me super uncomfortable. when she was done with him, she proceeded to take the next walk-in... She told me I did not have an appointment... I showed her my phone with the appointment time scheduled. She proceeded to show me her computer screen, saying I didn't have an appointment so as she took the second walk in before me, as my appointment was now over, I just left and won't be coming back. Parking was easy and nice to have designated parking spots for Bare Philosophy. Walked in and had no idea that you had to take your shoes off. I didn't notice behind me that they provide slides to wear after you take off your shoes. There was no staff downstairs so no one to greet me or give instructions. There was a sign that said they were short staffed and to help yourself. It was the day before Christmas Eve. Really pretty inside and welcoming. Lots of areas to look at product. There was a coffee machine. Old historical charm throughout! The other client got brought back and I just was standing around. I finally heard someone in the foyer area and was checked in at that point and brought back to a large room for my eyebrow appointment. We spoke a bit about eyebrow shape and how she likes to keep things natural/follow your natural shape. Can always take off more later if I wanted. I think my eye wax was all of five minutes. Trimming, a few strips of waxing, and then tweezing and that's it. Let me have a look in the mirror and I was happy for the most part. I should've asked to trim my eyebrows a little more. But overall content with the shape. I wish there was something to put on my skin afterwards to calm it down since I get red easily. Again, the whole process was super quick, didn't feel overly personalized with an eye brow shaping/waxing but the job got done. The staff who did my brows was very nice and we made conversation throughout my service. I felt comfortable and no pain with the waxing/tweezing. Afterwards, she checked me out and you can give a tip on a card. $20 is a fair price for an eyebrow wax, what I was paying for at another place in the area.
