A woman who may or may not have been the manager happily assisted me by guiding me down an aisle and knew just what I was looking for (unlike the other stores). She showed me two different lengths and I chose one and she suggested I get a converter for my laptop. Smart lady! I had forgotten about that! After that good luck I took a chance and asked if she had Imodium (my son needed it and Walmart was out). She actually ran to an end-cap and looked! They're always quite rude and dismissive, but you get used to it because that's how they are.. everyone knows it. And reviews going back 10 years show that it's consistently bad. But it's one of the few places we can get print jobs done in Beaufort. My job was 12 laminated photos put back to back.. image on each side. 10 out of the 12 laminations were not able to be used because they were not lined up at all. When I took them back, they gave me a refund and they blamed the machine. When I went to speak to a manager about it, the print guy follows over so he can listen in. And now he decides to blame the employee he said may have made this mistake - who was not there, of course. Human error. I ask if they can get it correct and he tried telling me photos don't work well in a laminating machine so he goes back to trying to blame the machine. He doesn't want to do the job. He gives me the name of a graphics place nearby.. the Prince staff at Staples are useless. They don't want to do their job. They don't want to be there. They don't care how much money they waste in materials.. I'm going to be contacting Staples corporate office and explaining a little more in detail and show them the results of their inefficiency. With the evidence.Why do people think it's OK to be employed but not do their job? And waste customers time and money.? it's not cool. Your employee(s) apparently just leave whenever it suits them and leave a taped message on the door. I went today and arrived at your store about 10 minutes til 12. The handwritten note said "closed for lunch 12:30 until 1 pm". I had a number of errands to run and returned to the store between 2 and 2:30 pm. The closed sign was on the door, but 2 customers were inside. I tried the door and it was unlocked. I went in to wait for the employee. I noticed the customers were writing down which garments they were leaving along with their contact information. When they finished, I stepped up to the counter with my receipt. The lady behind the counter said "the person who works here had to leave. I don't know how to work the machine or anything". I explained that I had been to the store numerous times to pick up one item. She started twirling the clothes. I said it is a kneelength white coat, so it should be easy to spot. She looked through both racks with no luck. I asked her who I could speak with, who was in charge of operating the store. Nothing. She didn't seem to know anything or didn't want to tell me. I was really hot about this time. I found the phone number of the so called manager and called her. She whined about she had to do this and that. Not my problem! I still have no clue how this business operates. I do know that I still do not have my coat and it is no where to be found. I asked the "manager" her name and she hung up on me. What a disaster of a business. I was told to come back at 8 am tomorrow, (Friday). I live 20 miles out in the country, so I try to conserve gas by running all of my errands in one day if possible. Now, I have to go back into town and deal with another incompetent employee to try and retieve my coat. This is beyond ridiculous for 1 single item. I have a strong feeling I will never see that coat again. I will go back in the morning, hopefully the employee will not be at breakfast, and end this nightmare with Waters Dry Cleaning.
