Went in for a pedi and dip manicure. They didn't have a huge color selection for the dip. The person doing my pedi drew blood a couple of times and had some first aid product on hand to stop that. Then a different person did my manicure and right away seemed like she didn't know how to handle the dremel when trying to take off my old dip polish. Once the mani happened the dremel hit pretty much every cuticle and she too had to dab a compound on the cuts to stop the bleeding. I woke up the next day with redness around each nail. Never had such an experience, almost was going to ask to see her license, it was that bad. I sent photos to the salon phone number the next day, never heard back and since the message didn't come back as couldn't deliver, I'm assuming it was a cell number and someone there received the photos. read more

I live in Virginia, but am originally from the Cary area. My mom goes to Beau regularly for her nails, so I was able to join for a pedicure during the holidays. Everyone is SO friendly! They also did a fantastic job with the pedicure, including the callus smoothing, buffing, filing, massage, stones, and painting. No wonder my mom is a regular! Overall great service and nails all looked great, but the price changed quite quick without any understanding on my end or consent. From being charged for a french tip (it's just white nail polish at the tip of my nail instead of my full nail), as well as putting chrome on another persons hands without understanding of it being an up charge. Even a regular manicure had up charges and they just asked for plain color nothing extra (still confused why this was the case). The website pricing as well as even the pricing inside the salon isn't correct, so make sure to ask about every detail pricing wise or what was supposed to be $35 will be $55 like mine.... No hate to them, just some clarifications that can cause confusion and issues. read more

While my first impressions of this salon set high expectations, I could not be more disappointed in my manicure - I have been getting gel nails for years, because while I'm NOT employed in places like lumberyards or alligator farms, I do manage to chip a regular manicure! So while every fill until this one had solved that problem, this place really makes my blood boil: I came in, after having called ahead to verify that a gel fill and regular pedicure were $25 + $25 mind you, and was highly impressed with the standard of pedicure and high attention to detail in making my time there as comfortable as possible (neck massage, a warm pad for my shoulders...) And even after being charged an extra mystery fee of $25 (total spent = $75) I let it go... THE VERY NEXT DAY, my "non-chip" gel nail not only chipped, but the nail also broke off at the corner without my even knowing! The next three days, my hands looked like they had been eaten away by hungry wolves... Disappointed, I returned five days later, explained my level of sadness at the poor quality of polish they had given me under false-no-chip-pretenses, and asked kindly for the problem to be fixed. Clearly upset, the woman had me wait nearly THIRTY MINUTES for another person to show up to fix it... They applied the same polish, and sent me on my way... It's been two days, and I was able to chip and literally peel off (like an orange peel) most of the areas that cracked and withered within the first 48 hours *picture to follow* Don't bother with this place if you want a quality manicure for a fair (or honest) price! Let me preface this: I like to give places more than one chance. First visit 8/16 mid day Mani-pedi with no chip $49 - it was lovely. I had a young lady do my pedi and enjoyed the hot stone message. I've been running and my calves have been sore so it felt good. I picked a OPI red for both toes and fingers. I moved onto the mani. I believe she is one of the owners as she behaved differently from the pedi girl. Had a lovely mani done. Nice yet heavy handed message. Perhaps she missed my taped arm and shoulder. Finished off with a vitamin E message over my hands. I was so happy I tipped each gal $10. The mani gal gave me a card. 10 mani/pedi and get 1 free. Oh and the color and sheen have lasted for almost 3 weeks. Super! Second visit 9/9 @ 9am $35 + $6 tip I was greeted and asked to pick a color. I got my OPI red no chip. From then on, no one spoke English. The previous mani gal was there with another gal who looked like an owner. They spoke Korean. I know it was Korean. I have Korean friends. They spoke to each other the entire time. You know that weird feeling when you know someone is talking about you but you don't understand them but you don't want to be rude and don't say anything? Yeah, that was the feeling I had. One of the owners said something to my new mani girl, and pointed to my taped arm/shoulder. This time, mani was fast. Like way too fast. My cuticles are atrocious and the polish doesn't make it all the way into the nail bed. And I think she skipped a step. My left hand looks different than my right. See images. The right hand has less shine. Also, maybe my idea of round and someone else's is different. I'm not asking for perfection but similar would have been nice. I'm not sure I'll be back. I'd say this place is excellent for the cheaper non-fancy salon kind of mani/pedi. I used to go to Nail Story in Cary, which was also pretty good, but Beau Nail is so much nicer for pretty much the same price. The atmosphere here is really nice and tranquil. The women who work here were all sweet and eager to please. I think I was one of their first customers a couple years back, and they were all very welcoming -- asking my opinion about the design, music, television, etc. I even got a hug from the owner and my nail tech when I left! I don't often write reviews on Yelp but I wanted to give some praise to this little salon. I was looking for a place close to home to get a no-chip manicure and low and behold this place is walking distance from my house! (nothing in the 'burbs is walking distance) Between the good reviews and the proximity I had to give them a try. Julie did a beautiful job on my nails. I got the OPI no-chip and it is just gorgeous. But I think the best part was the attention she gave to the actual manicure. The last few places I've gone seemed to give the cuticles a quick once over then move on to the polish. Not Julie. Her attention to detail and her thoroughness was great. My cuticles haven't looked this good in ages. The salon is clean and nicely decorated. They carry OPI and CND no-chip polishes so the color selection is good. Their pedicure chairs looked nice and comfy. I look forward to getting my toes done here in the near future. I have to say, I am VERY pleasantly surprised with Beau Nail Salon. This will definitely be my go-to mani-pedi place now! The main thing I look for in nail salons is cleanliness. I was blown away with how clean and sanitary everything was here! My gel manicure looked great and so did my pedicure, but the only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that I think my pedicure could have been better. I only got one coat of polish and no top coat ... again, it looked great and is wearing well, but I was a little surprised by that. Perhaps she forgot? Definitely will be coming back though!! This nail salon is slow, super over priced and the quality of product sucks! I got a gel fill no chip on my nails and a pedi. The pedi was ok. No options for different ones. And they don't really get your feet smooth. Next the nails took forever. A simple fill and one color no chip. First they charge $35 for the gel fill mad then $15 for a no chip. That's $50 without a design even. Way over priced when there are many other quality salons that charge way less. So a pedi and gel no chip mani out the door cost $85. Are you kidding me?! Super disappointed and now less than a week out they are already starting to chip what a waste of time and money!! Don't waste your time and money and go to a different salon. The new salon in Crystal Lake next to the fresh market is better and so is the salon in downtown Crystal Lake next to the Starbucks. read more

The staff here is great it's WAY overpriced, I did a spa pedicure ($45) which I was told included a manicure. It didn't. I got no chip on my fingers and toes which I knew would cost more. The only reason this gets 1 star is that I can not give it 0 and the actual polish job was decent. First of all I have had my nails done the same way for over 3 years so I know what to expect when I have my nails done. My nails are not complicated I have an acrylic gel overlay with shellac polish. I was due for a full and polish change. Now I will give them some leeway here as I came into the salon a little after 6 PM. I was not expecting that they would be able to fit me in but they did. I told the lady I needed a full and polish change. First of all they did not realize I had shellac. Then they were confused over the fact that I did not have fake nails but my real nails. Then they used a regular nail file to get off the gel polish. In all my years this has never ever been done. Then they used the foil and cotton balls, again never been done. They then wrapped my hands in fairly hot towels. When after 5 minutes this was not working to the ladys satisfaction she added yet another hot towel over the one already there. This ended up with my hands being in severe pain after about 2 minutes feeling like they were burning. I finally said something. But the palms of my hands and the backs of the top of my hands are red and feel like they are sunburned. I work as a physician and I need my hands on a daily basis and until this heals I am going to be very uncomfortable. Second they filed down the gel overlay I had on my nails to practically nothing. I have very thin nails which tear easily which is the reason I do the gel overlay. No fill as I asked. Now if there was no one there who could do so just tell me and I conks have done back. If you don't do that then again simply tell me and that would be fine. So here I am with thin nails which I have to baby until the weekend when I can have them fixed properly. And hands that hurt to the touch and feel like a sunburn until they heal. I will absolutely not go here ever again Nor will I ever recommend this place. read more

I have been searching around the Cary/Crystal Lake/Algonquin areas for a great place to get a no-chip manicure. I might have found it! I got my no-chip done on Martin Luther King Day, so there were two other ladies in there and a grandmother/granddaughter as well at 3pm. I had an appointment and was escorted to my chair right at 3, which was very nice to see that having an appointment does mean something. The selection of colors didn't seem to be as plentiful as at other salons, but I still had a hard time deciding between two colors, so a good enough selection in my opinion. The lady doing my nails was very nice and professional. I LOVED that the "desks" that you sit at had the UV lights BUILT IN....I didn't have to wait for the lady doing my nails to go grab the UV boxes from around the counter. These were actually built in! The best part was at the end. My lady had already put a warm towel on my neck prior to beginning the manicure, but at the end...she gave a nice massage. Shoulders, neck, upper back--it was great. The only thing that I did not like was that I was charged an additional $5 (after the fact) to have my previous no-chip removed. I have been to 6 other places on my search for the best no-chip and have NEVER been charged a fee to have my no-chip removed. Not a deal breaker, but just wanted to bring that to the attention of others who have yet to be charged for a no-chip removal. Very nice, professional, clean, and good quality work. The reason why I only give 4 stars is becuase although I came in at 5:45, I felt like they rushed my services so they could close by 7. They did my manicure and pedicure at the same time which I usually have no problem with, but it overall felt rushed. And the leg rub and foot massage was alright. It was time for my summer mani/pedi and for the last 1+ year my fingernials have been peeling. I heard from a family member that a gel polish treatment was the way to go and your nails did not chip for at least 2 weeks. So after numerous searches for nail spa's I chose Beau Nail & Spa in Cary. Although I live west of Crystal Lake this location is on my way home from work, so an appointment was made. I had my nails done with the no chip polish ($35) and my toes with regular polish on 6/19. I noticed they did not put a final clear top coat on my toes and that really makes a difference so on my next visit (I will go back), I'll be sure to ask them to put a final coat of clear. The no chip is incredibly durable....I clean my own home and have my hands in the water and with green scrubbies alot. No scratches or chips - WOW! But today is 2 weeks and I'll definately need to go before the week is over as the gel coat has started to peal away from my nails and the new growth at the base of my nail is enough to make it look peculiar. One thing I noticed, and I'll be sure to let them know, is that the clean edge they put around the nail bed may have been too wide as I don't think my nails grow that fast to show as much as they do. I was the last appointment on 4/20 and I have to say that this was by far the worst service I have ever had at a nail salon. I wanted a different color on my toes so instead of taking the other polish off she polished on top of it. The problem? They rushed me out the door and did not offer me time to dry. So as soon as I got home the polish came right off!! The paint job on my hands was also terrible. There are bumps and sharp edges on all of my nails. Terrible work and terrible customer service!!!! I recently tried the dipped manicure here, and I would not recommend it for this particular service. The quality was poor, and it clear they have not been trained for it. Obviously they take multiple "walk-ins" and disregard good customers that always make appointments! They put me in a pedicure chair at 20 minutes late with lukewarm water that became cold by the time anyone touched my feet 25 minutes later! I was very excited to try this place as it is close to home and easier for me to get my nails done instead of staying after work in Chicago. The place is very clean. The techs do not understand you very well. I asked that my nails not be filed down and to stay the same length. Instead the tech filed them all down. I asked that my no chip polish match my toe polish. Not even close. My nails are about 2 shades lighter than my toes. I had a mani/pedi. The special was $49.00. It is the same that I pay downtown Chicago. When I went to pay it was $59.00. They charge $5.00 extra to take off no chip nail polish! Never heard of any place doing this.The other $5 was for the design which is normal. I think they need to tell you up front that there is an extra charge for no chip removal. So, I will be staying at my normal place in Chicago and pay the normal $49.00 price with the design. read more

They offer a regular mani/pedi and then a "spa" version, which is nice because sometimes I just want my nails to look good - and I'm happy to be able to pay a little less. If I could give no stars I would. I went in today to get my nails done and they had only 20 colors to choose from for a no chip manicure. Then because they had no colors to choose from I went with a basic manicure and she flew through my manicure as fast as she could to add more people after me. By the time I had my manicure from start to finish it only took her 10 minutes.
