We used B. Langston's to handle an estate sale for my mother-in-law, and unfortunately the…read moreexperience was very frustrating due to poor communication--particularly from Anthony. My wife was the primary point of contact throughout the process, but even after the sale had been over for a month, she was unable to get any information about the proceeds. At that point, I stepped in and quickly experienced the same issues. Calls went straight to voicemail with no response for days. When I finally reached him via text, he asked who I was, and after I explained and requested a call back, there was still no follow-up. I then contacted the physical store and spoke with a staff member who seemed surprised that we had not yet received payment. She assured me someone would reach out, but again, no one did. After continued effort tracking Anthony down, he eventually agreed to meet later that week, and we were finally paid. Communication is a basic expectation in any business, especially when dealing with something as sensitive as an estate. Unfortunately, that standard was not met here. I hope the company takes this feedback seriously and improves their communication practices moving forward.

I recently had a great experience going to one of B "langgston"'s hosted EstateSales. The…read morecollection of items were interesting and carefully curated pieces to explore, but would really stood out was the exceptional personal service. The staff was friendly and attentive, without being overbearing They went above and beyond call of duty by carefully, carrying my purchases to the car. Which made the whole experience, more enjoyable and stress-free. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys finding unique quality Antiques along with one of a kind items and in a welcoming, helpful atmosphere. I'm definitely coming back. It's never the same place.

The most important comment about Langston's is make certain you read and understand ALL the terms…read moreand conditions of the contract. The people are nice to customers; agree to do everything you want; but, at the end hit you with costs and charges only mentioned in the contract that you will not likely read. The first surprise is they bring in items from other estates and mix them in with your items. Secondly, the percentage taken is subject to a minimum commission earned. If the minimum is not realized you are charged a minimum of thousands of dollars. No itemized receipt is provided at the end of the estate sale, which in our case was 4 weeks after the actual sale, and only after two phone calls. The only item specifically listed was the automobile sold. Otherwise, you are provided a total $ amount for the items sold. And any item you place is the sale AND not sold becomes the property of Langston's to do with as it wishes. In our case, a piano and a china hutch was left in the house for the buyers to avoid having to move them. So if you are looking for a company that will work hard in gathering and displaying your estate items, Langston's does a good job of that. If you need to have the full value of you item(s), I recommend shopping around for another estate sales company or selling them yourself.
