Horrible Experience with Navy to Navy Property Management If I could give Navy to Navy zero stars, I would. Renting from this company has been one of the most frustrating, stressful, and disappointing experiences of my life. I trusted Navy to Navy to provide a habitable home for my family, but instead, I encountered negligence, unprofessionalism, and baseless accusations that I would never expect from a reputable property management company. 1. The Move-In Nightmare When I first moved into a property managed by Navy to Navy, I was told it was ready for occupancy. This turned out to be completely untrue. My family and I arrived to find an uninhabitable apartment. We were forced to stay in a hotel and pay for an extra day with our U-Haul, which was both inconvenient and expensive. I moved across state lines trusting that Navy to Navy would honor their commitments, but they failed miserably from day one. 2. Constant Disrepair The condition of the apartment when we moved in was unacceptable. Blackened walls and ceilings around the vents suggested poor air quality, the air conditioning barely functioned (leaving us sweltering in 80-degree heat during the summer), and entire sections of the apartment had no working electricity, including the kitchen and bedrooms. These weren't minor issues--they made the unit nearly unlivable. Despite multiple maintenance requests, Navy to Navy either ignored the problems or failed to fix them properly. 3. False and Baseless Accusations When I moved out, things went from bad to worse. I surrendered my keys on December 4, 2024, and hired a professional moving company to ensure everything was handled properly. The movers can attest that the apartment was empty and left in the same (poor) condition in which I received it--certainly not in worse shape. Yet, Navy to Navy's representative, Jorge, accused me of causing "extensive damage" and "changing the locks." These claims are completely false: * All repairs during my tenancy were performed by Navy to Navy's authorized technicians. * I never returned to the property after surrendering the keys, so it was impossible for me to cause any damage post-move-out. * I have photographic evidence documenting the condition of the apartment before and after my tenancy. Jorge's accusations were not only baseless but also deeply offensive. His unprofessional and antagonistic behavior made an already frustrating experience even worse. 4. Mishandling My Security Deposit Florida law is clear: landlords must provide a detailed, itemized list of damages to justify withholding a tenant's deposit. Navy to Navy failed to do this. Instead, I received a vague, generalized list that mentioned "painting" and "extensive damage" without any specifics or associated costs. This is a direct violation of Florida Statutes Section 83.49. Despite making an informal request via text on January 1, 2025, and a formal request via email on the same day, I received no meaningful response. I was told someone would follow up with me on January 2, 2025, but no one did. This lack of communication is completely unacceptable. The Bottom Line Navy to Navy's negligence, unprofessionalism, and failure to follow Florida law have caused significant financial and emotional distress. They have not only mishandled my security deposit but have also repeatedly ignored their responsibilities as a landlord. If you're considering renting from Navy to Navy, I strongly urge you to reconsider. This company's actions (or lack thereof) have demonstrated a clear disregard for their tenants' rights and well-being. I hope this review serves as a warning to others. BEWARE! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY... Navy to Navy is by far the worst home rental company. They over promise and under deliver. The house was not clean when it was time to move in. The salt tank for the water softener was empty. Carpets were not steam cleaned as presented. Baseboard molding with nails attached were never replaced. Just thrown in the garage. Front door lock and molding was replaced and they never came back to repaint. The water and ice through the door stopped working a few weeks after moving in. Put in a request for maintenance. They came back and said the owner said to buy a Brita? LoL. This is the level of customer NO service you can expect from this company. Upon moving out, Bailey was vague and never answered questions regarding nail holes. She suggested to not patch them. So they decided to charge for patching and painting. Painting is a natural occurrence when the house is old. We were overcharged for the move out fee, including cleaning the carpets that they never did prior to the move in. Absolute 1 star review! Company required an appointment just to discuss hiring them to provide property management services. After a full week of waiting for the appointment, the agent Staci didn't even call at the scheduled time. After waiting 30 minutes I called the company and was told that the agent would give me a call. But Staci never called me. After speaking with the manager, he explained that Staci had called a Lateisha instead of Lakesha (which is my name) and now Staci has moved on to her next appointment. After I expressed my disappointment Staci and the situation after waiting a full week and not being called at my all appointment time or called at all by Staci, the so called manager had the audacity to state that when customers start out dissatisfied then it's almost impossible to satisfy them and then offered me references to a website to find other management companies. He even had the nerve to add that he is a 22 year veteran... Honestly, I would never associate that level of unprofessionalism with any veteran owned or servicing organization. We rented a townhouse in Pensacola from 3-15-24 through 5-30-24. We found a house to buy the first week we were in Pensacola, faster than anticipated. The last few weeks of May we were mostly already moved into our house and not in the rental unit, except to empty and clean. A part of our security deposit was unfairly kept from us. We knew we would lose 2-months rent as a break-lease fee and have no problem with this. But we were charged $112.50 for a "clogged garbage disposal". We did not use the garbage disposal, aside from running it with water prior to using the dishwasher. We only noticed it stopped working as we were preparing to hand over the keys. The motor hum just suddenly stopped while running water through the disposal. As with the two toilets that needed repair the first week we moved in, a trouble-ticket led to these toilets getting repaired. We mentioned this garbage disposal situation in person at the key turn-over meeting with our property manager Rob. How is this different than putting in a formal request for a repair? We would like to see the plumber's work-order that explains the problem, because we simply never used the garbage disposal and shouldn't be held accountable for this. We were ideal renters, left the place spotless, and it's a shame that we have to post this review. As to this question: How likely are you to recommend us to somebody else? Applied for a house to rent and was denied due to an imaginary criminal record. Asked to verify the report and was denied which is a clear violation of HUD laws. I could say many many positive things about Mario but the proof is in the sales. Within one week we had multiple offers. We ended up choosing an offer that was over our asking price with a 20 day close. I was looking for a quick sale so I did not have to continue paying my mortgage, utilities, etc. I was also willing to invest in improvements as long as they produced a good ROI. While the improvements were not major renovations Mario did oversee all of them as I live out of state. His contractors offered him good prices especially for the quality of work they did. These services really added a lot of value to his overall service. He was very professional, communicated well, and was truly a trusted advisor throughout this process. I have bought and sold several houses over the years and worked with dozens of Real Estate Agents along the way. I can say that - without a doubt - Mario has proven to be the most proactive, involved and effective agent of them all. Most agents simply passively post your property on MLS and wait for buyers to come along...NOT Mario. In my most recent property sale, I had my condo on the market for 6 months with another agent with only a few showings and minimal activity. I then stumbled onto Mario and switched to give him a try. Mario immediately took charge and came up with a plan. He went to the property, made a few key physical improvements, listed and marketed the property and within 3 weeks I had an offer and we closed shortly thereafter. Mario's communication, even over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, was superb and, since I was living across the country from the property during the sale, he served as my eyes and ears locally. The move out fees are very dishonest. They invoices for over $800 move out fees for a 1600 sq ft apt. Only the upstairs was carpeted. It was new construction and we were only there for two years. It does not matter how clean it is when you move out they are going to get their charges in somewhere. When you ask the person who works the front desk any questions she's rude and yells at you that it's not her job and not her problem! And heaven forbid you ask for a receipt showing you returned your keys, she rolls her eyes! Hate this company. Never again. read more

I would not recommend using Navy to Navy Homes if you are a military member/family relocating to the Jacksonville area. They use very good maintenance providers but their services could really be improved as they relate to tenants. Their move-out fees are very high (two cleaning charges; there is really no reason to clean your rental at all because they will charge you no matter how clean it is) and they take more than a month to return security deposits (non-interest bearing no less). Overall, they are a very typical property management company -- they represent the landlord's interest at the expense of the tenant. I think service members and their families, and anyone else for that matter, can do better. read more

I am so dissatisfied with Our property manager, Bailey, at Navy to Navy. We have had a ongoing appliance issue for the past 3 months with delay after delay and excuse after excuse as to why it can't be fixed or replaced. We pay almost $3K a month to live in this home (quite a lot) and I am honestly shocked at the lack of empathy for their renters. It has been a belittling experience. My husband and I work hard and are owners of companies and try to position ourselves so that we do not have to feel like a subclass of human beings when being spoken to. All people have bad days and I get that, but this has happened one to many times. Truly feels like I am bothering her to get anything done. read more

The manger we deal with (BJ) is terribly rude and getting repairs done is a slow process as everything is done through a warranty company that typically does NOT have the part. We have not had a working dish washer for about 3 months and the Navy to Navy Home representative we go through told us that a dishwasher is a conveneince and that according to Florida Law the only thing they are required to fix is the refrigerator. Keep in mind that we currently pay $2,850.00 in rent, not that it should matter. Not very pleased with the company at all. I submitted an application with Eric and Katie originally and had no problems. Was told that renters history wasn't a big deal but it was especially when one person credit score isn't up to part. So I found a realtor and was interested in another property as well. So my realtor went through Karen with Navy to Navy and asked her to submit our application last Friday. It's now Tuesday and she's just submitting our application along with other applicants, even though she had our information prior to others. BTW my realtor had to follow up with her to get a response. Then Karen cc others on the email stating she emailed our application along with others. As if she had an issue with me getting a realtor. SMH!! I would not recommend this company to anyone I know or come to know in the future. Very unprofessional. Eric was pleasant yet his communication is poor. But KAREN was the deal breaker. Awful to rent from! Lie straight to your face during move out inspection and tell you everything looks GREAT! Told us we kept a very nice home. Just to turn around and charge us over $800 for carpets we already paid someone to come clean. They said that who we used didnt do a good enough job. Also charged is a $200 cleaning fee to clean the filter behind the fridge that was missed in the cleaning process. Advised us we should have used their vendors because they do a wonderful job. Not to mention while living there we had to purchase our own garage door openers, had to have the home cleaned before we were even able to move in, replace ceiling fans out of our own pocket, had to fix the sliding glass door handle that was completely broken into 2 pieces when we moved in. Carpet was very dingy and worn. Mind you it was 11 yrs old! We were even charged bc they had to remove patio curtains the previous tenant had installed! Totally not fair considering we didnt put them up. The list goes on from here too. Fact is if you rent from them just be prepared to not get you deposit back even if you are the perfect tenant and treat their homes like gold. read more
