In Sept. 2024, I was unable to pick up an auction item; A wedding veil for $1.00. After I paid, I…read morecalled and told them I couldn't make the pickup b/c I had to go check on my elderly parents after a storm. The employee said no problem. I figured they would give it to someone else as many times my husband and I took and disposed of leftover items for them so I thought this one time they could do that for me. When I tried to bid at the next auction, I found out my account was suspended and I would need to pay $50 to get it reinstated. I was appalled at the rude treatment I received after spending thousands of dollars with them. (There is more than shown in the photo). I understand they have fees but this was a one time thing. What about giving someone grace for a one time thing? None of this was explained when I called. The punishment should fit the crime and this was a severe reaction on their part to a good paying client who also generously tipped employees. I would appreciate it if someone could look into this and get back to me.

Thank you Michelle--you do indeed sound like a kind person but I would take issue with just a…read morecouple of things you wrote in your response to my review.Your business did not offer extended storage as a "courtesy "--you charged me $130 for it. $130 on top of over $623 I paid for items I purchased but do not have. $130 is a sizable "handling" fee given most CT locations charge a flat fee or a nominal handling fee that literally covers time or materials. I have no idea how that broke down but I do believe you should be remunerated for these things. I paid it via PayPal as your male co-owner demanded for packing and storage for one week. Later that night, if memory serves, I realized I could not ask a family member who lives in your state to disrupt their work schedule to fit within the confines of such limited timeof-day and length-of-time in general restrictions as your co-owner demanded. So I wrote back soon after paying that and asked your co-owner, Dennis Begg, that the $130 be returned to me as I would not be needing the storage of my items because no one could pick them up. I felt that notifying you immediately would help you most. I also asked for an itemized receipt for my $623 "donation" as I would need it to itemize my federal taxes.Your co-owner Dennis Begg told me, very plainly and in very clear writing that I would not be receiving any part of my money back for my items--the $623.xx I paid the night your auction closed. He further said, in writing, that he would be donating the items. I made the very reasonable assumption that my items would be donated to a charity or other not-for-profit entity--any of whom would gladly supply a legitimate receipt for such a large donation which I could supply to the IRS and state government. Of course I did not want to lose these items. I loved them and as I told your partner Dennis Begg, the most expensive item was to be a Christmas gift to my elderly mother-in-law who we're losing to dementia. I am not against you all making a profit and I am not advocating you should lose money in this whole large mess. What I am against is the lack of compassion he exhibited when I apologized profusely and asked him for kindness when another elderly parent's unexpected health issue prevented me from getting to Florida at the auction pick-up time. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for understanding from a company whose advertised ethos is compassion. I was certainly willing to pay for your inconvenience and I certainly asked for it on bended knee. Unfortunately, in return I received emails and text messages from Mr. Begg which come perilously close to accusing me of misrepresentation and which succeeded in his apparent goal of condescension and quite plainly treating another human being disrespectfully and resentfully. I believe I demonstrated restraint in return when I wrote and asked him to show mercy in a situation that could not at that point be changed. I could not magically traverse 850 miles at that moment so I asked him for compassion. What I received instead were fairly scathing accusations that I'd received messages that I had not. It begs the question, if he has possession of $600+ of my property and I'm asking him a favor why in the world would I risk further angering a person who is already unfriendly and insulting? I do not throw such large sums of money away simply because another person chose meanness. Perhaps a consistent mode of said messages from Mr Begg would have resulted in a better outcome--One day email--one day text which is the method I politely asked him to use as it is more reliable way to reach me only to receive a harsh and in my mind sarcastic message from him saying that was not true. I do credit him with trying to save me money on shipping as he said the packing and shipping company you all generally use--Navis Pack n Ship--would probably be prohibitively expensive. I was hoping that meant I could pay to have it taken to the local UPS store where I have an account and receive very low rates but he would not agree to that. It turns out he knows Navis' rates because he also owns that business and controls said rates. Look Michelle, I recognize that this has been a giant pain for you all--and for my part in that I truly offer my apologies, however, I don't imagine your loss equaled my $750 loss. I would gladly change this situation and the ill feelings it has created if I could--and to that end I will be in town for several days for Thanksgiving and if you all might happen to still have my items I humbly ask if I may come retrieve them and we end this more amicably. I believe you have my number--I would welcome a text from you to resolve this. Respectfully--Kasey.

They called the person and said they have 20 mins to pick it up. Then it was changed to 35 mins. After an hour later I was told they paid yesterday. I know this was a lie because no way they would have told me if it isn't picked up in 20 mins I could buy it if it was paid for. I wasted about an hour and 30 mins, until I heard the man who helps out for the company on the phone telling the person I will hold it for you I promise. So he lied about payment and wasted my time

I was not allowed to attend the sale and I had many high-end items to offer entire Cutco knife and cutlery set. crystle an electric guitar and amp a keyboard and a drum set electric and when they sent me a check afterwards, it was just over $1900 by Cutco itself listed for over 3000 so they either under sold everything or put everything in the U-Haul of value and then just sold everything else at a cheap discount and they told me that everything left over will be packed up carefully and taken away, which was a lie I had to pack up everything myself and take it to the thrift store things that they wouldn't take. I put it outside and my landlord would not return my security deposit so I really don't recommend hiring this company, especially if you cannot be there to monitor their integrity
