Order ahead if you are getting there late in the day and not sure if there'll be a pie waiting for you. In peak season, they've got Sunday hours until 2 p.m. Got pie I think the first time because we didn't plan ahead before. We know it's been said that Bea's has the best pie on the peninsula and from the picture you can see how precise the crust is (and correspondingly the filling). Still grabbing a cookie with our pie pickup along with chopped cherry jam. (20 oz is just $9.29). Missed browsing what else there was this time in the day olds beyond the case. Jams/jellies start at $4.79 for 5 oz, but you get 10 oz. for $6.79. It's just a slippery slide to $8.29 for 15 oz and $9.29 for 20 oz. We were stocked up on relish - so we'll wait until next year. read more

This is my friend's favorite place for pie in Door County so we had to make a quick stop here. I wasn't planning to buy a pie, actually, but ended up bringing home a dutch apple. They sell them frozen so I don't have to worry about eating it right away. Bea's also sells canned items like jams, pickles, and so on. They also have some fresh bakery items like cookies, of which I bought a couple and they were good--especially the caramel chocolate chip one, I think it was. There was a shelf that had single slices available as well, both from the same day and the day before. Prices were reasonable and the employees were helpful. I would stop here again if I was in the area and looking for a pie. Parking is plentiful. read more

Omgah...these pies... Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the Door County area. Pie is 1000% homemade and they do not use the canned pie "filling" it's all natural baby. Crust is cracker thin and sweet. For reference I had the cherry and strawberry rhurbarb custard. They have a freezer with frozen pies to take home and bake. I went in November so they did not have any ready baked. But no matter since you can grab a few and freeze for later. I wanted about 12 more but $18 each id blow my whole paycheck. There's also homemade jams jellies dip mixes etc. AND they are open in the winter.. as most touristy places in DC are closed for the season. read more

Just a quick "Covid-era" update! We were so happy to find that Bea's was open during our visit last week! Their website said their hours were still limited, but they did happen to be open when we stopped by. They are requiring masks at this point, and everyone was respecting that which was nice to see. We stocked up on our favorite cherry products and since we were renting a house with a kitchen bought a bake-at-home pie so that we could enjoy the aroma of a pie baking while we relaxed that evening. It was absolutely delicious! The crust was tender and flaky and the filling was wonderful; it was loaded with cherries, apples, strawberries and raspberries. They had signs saying that they were out of some things due to supply problems, but we found they had everything we wanted, so we weren't sure what they weren't able to get this year. Everything is made in house which is impressive. It can't be a complete trip to Door County without making it to Bea's! read more

We picked up a blueberry and a four berry pie on this visit.    Both were the usual tip-top delicious.  I personally didn't like the four berry quite as much only because I didn't know what variable flavor the next bite was going to be.  I know this is being very nit-picky but t'was otherwise excellent.   Prices currently holding at $16.99 per scrumptious pie. read more

We stopped for pie and Deer Ears, a custard slice to die for and only available here. The pie was OK but we had been spoiled a few days earlier with really flaky pastry from another place. We went back for more deer ears but they had all gone. Just like everywhere else the staff here were burnt out loudly proclaiming we are NOT doing anymore baking after Saturday. Lots of other of the usual jams and Christmas items to buy, postcards and soup mix etc. Ambiance? Pie and Pie. read more

My husband and I went to the shop for nostalgia sake for him as he used to come there as a child quite often with his family. But this shop is still full of great products. Shelves upon shelves of jams and jellies, lots of pickles and other items have been canned as well. Plus, they're fresh baked goods look delicious. We try their fruit medley jelly and my kids love it. The lime chili aïoli is another new favorite of my husbands. They also have soup and baked good mixes and other wonderful foods to try. Very reasonably priced and great selection to choose from. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area. And if you're not, you can order online which is even better. read more

For over 15 years our family never misses a trip to Bea's when we're in Door County!! The Almond Chopped Cherry jam is fantastic!

Awesome little spot! Not sure why some others had a bad customer service experience, though. Walked in thinking there would be grumpy old ladies working the counter, but to my peasant surprise, the two ladies working there had ready smiles and helpful attitudes! We had the cherry pie as recommended, and weren't disappointed. It was absolutely delicious, but not necessarily, like "the" best one I've ever had. Could be just that I'm not a real pie person, especially cherry, but I wouldn't necessarily drive all the way down here just for these. Our Door County Trip was really great, and there were some other things I would drive back for (3 hours). I would come back to Bea's since I'd be up here anyway, but it wouldn't be what I'd drive back up for. read more

This is the place to buy home made products in Door County. When they say that it's "Ho-made" it's all true. They have the best pies around. While chatting w the lady at the counter, I was watching the manager Jeni preparing fresh pies in the back. Their cherry pie is wonderful, but my favorite is their Dutch apple pie. Amazing! Their jams and jellies are all made right on the premise and you know exactly where it was made, right in the back room. They also carry numerous dips, no bake cheesecakes, bread mixes, soup mixes etc. great place to stock up on gifts. The homemade cookies are incredible also. The lady suggested the key lime white chocolate cookie. Wow! A new must have whenever I stop in to this wonderful establishment. read more

Go when you have the time to look over every product. It is all by itself just outside Gills Rock. The busy workers in the back, and even Bea when she comes up from Florida, make some interesting, and delicious products. Allow yourself time to figure out how you could use each jar. They were even nice enough to make up several gift boxes for us. The fruit pies were calling me, but I did not have a freezer to store them in to get them home. Major bummer. The sky turned black as a thunderstorm rolled over the tip of the Door peninsula. Hail the size of nickels fell for minutes. It was July. We pulled into the parking lot of Bea's and waited until the weather blew over. There were so many things my girlfriend wanted to buy: chopped cherry jam, homemade caramels, a frozen pie. I was traumatized by the thunderstorm, especially coming off the derecho that struck southwest Wisconsin and Chicago earlier this summer. I talked to the owner, maybe it was Bea herself, about the weather, thinking it may calm me down. She confirmed that they see hundreds of water spouts off both coasts of Door peninsula every summer. I felt compelled to nearly clean out the entire section of day-old treats. The cup of delicious raspberry filled donut holes soothed my nerves. read more

Shocked to see they were not making any effort to manage the number of people in their tiny store. Stopped by Monday around 10 am. There were already 5 people inside - social distancing just barely possible with that many people and those people weren't distancing. Then another 6 people came inside and made distancing impossible. I left immediately. There was a sign on the door saying masks are required due to a recent uptake in cases. That was the only visible COVID precaution. But they weren't even making any effort to enforce that. The customer at the head of the line wore a mask but wasn't covering their nose. read more

Most of you will never visit Door County in Wisconsin. That failure can be assuaged slightly by usimg their website, and I recommend it without reservation. On our first in-person visit I wanted to try some of their pickles and jams. Door County being famous as a cherry producer, I also purchased a jar of cherry pie filling (all you need is a crust). Best pie I ever made! (Sorry, Grandma.) All their products are so go that UPS brings me a box several times a year for the past 10 years. read more

My family has been coming here for years and years. It's the only place we buy our jelly and other goodies when coming up to Door County. It hasn't changed much over the years but they do add some different jellies and some other merchandise. They also have canned and homemade salsas, pickles, relishes, tomatoes - anything you can think of. They have a good selections of Wisconsin cheeses and crackers. Giant selection of gen-u-ine Door County jams and jellies in a range of sizes. Bitty 2 oz jars make great little souvenirs for friends or family or for Christmas gift baskets/stocking stuffers. I got the requisite cherry jelly (available also as jam and "chopped cherry" jam with pieces), pear jelly and apple butter. While I hands down agree Bea has the best ho-made products, but the staff REALLY needs to work on their people skills. My family has been coming to Door County as well as Beas for several decades. Over time we've noticed the staff has become less than helpful and rather unfriendly. I recommended Beas pies to a close friend making their first trip to Door County. Excited to visit, the friend went ahead and pre-ordered pies for pick up. Upon arrival, the staff forgot to make the pies then went on like it was no big deal! I guess Beas business wasn't hurting during Covid. In the end after needing to covey disappointment, the staff offered a feee frozen pie in place. That's all fine and dandy but really left an impression on someone's first visit to Beas after much recommendation. Bea may have great products but they won't have a business without excellent customer service to stand behind those products! read more

I've never made it to the actual Bea's location in Gills Rock. (Like many Washington Island regulars, I'm usually trying to make the next boat or beat the traffic to the highway.) However, I *have* had *lots* of Bea's cherry jams and syrups, which can all be obtained at the Wisconsin Products Pavilion at the Wisconsin State Fair. I love drizzling the cherry syrup over ice cream, or adding a splash to some Godiva Chocolate liquer. Chocolate-covered cherry shots, anyone? The spiced cherry jam is also fantastic. Great little stop for some tastes of Door County to take home. I think Bea was actually in there chatting up customers the last time I was there because 'there's nothing but reruns on TV.' Great jams and jellies with any fruit and vegetable you can imagine as well as other accessories. Bea's has changed little over the years. They do have more prepackaged products as the years go on, but I think that is the only negative. Their home made jams and jellies are fantastic, especially the chopped cherry, a Door County prerequisite. Their home made pies are scrumptious. They also make a mean garlic dill pickle. Ugh. I really wanted to give this a higher rating. I adore the jellies, especially the hot pepper jelly, but our visit to the actual store was a bit lacking. When we told the woman at the cash register that we loved her pepper jelly, she proceeded to tell us how much she hated making it and why, which was extremely odd. It kind of made me feel guilty for liking the jelly in the first place. But more importantly, the pies we bought for a family function were less than desirous. One was completely undercooked with raw dough in the center. Another, peach, had clumps of dough in the fruit mixture so as to avoid putting much fruit in the pie. And the cherry was simply not as good as the other cherry pies I've had in Door County. The pies were entirely too sweet, which I didn't think was possible. read more

I've been a big fan of the chopped cherry jam since 1983... They have a bunch of other flavors and pickles etc... But like Toby Keith and his red solo cup I don't stray from the chopped cherry jam very often. Best there is. Also worth noting that I think it is worth the trip to Gill's Rock to visit Bea's. While their products are sold elsewhere, the store is quite a place to browse all of their products, many of which I have not seen elsewhere. read more

My husband's family has a summer home in Gill's Rock, and it is tradition for everyone to visit Bea's when you're up there. Not only is the name obviously amusing, but the cherry pies are unreal. We live in Chicago, and I have seriously considered going up to Gill's Rock just for the day (12 hour round trip!) to get a bunch of their cherry pies to bring home. They are seriously THAT GOOD. We were there this past June, so the pies we got were from the previous season's cherries, and they were still unbelievably delicious. We've gotten other goods from there as well, and all are yummy, but Bea's pies just can't be beat. read more
