Very cute cafe and bakery in the heart of Jasper Downtown. Located in a very cozy place, this lovely cafe will steal your heart. Sticky Bun is my fav from this place. Also took some coffee and it's very good. When in jasper, stop at this local caffe. read more

While on a motor coach bus tour of the Canadian Rockies, our tour guide leader took us into Jasper for the day, and pointed out Bear"s Paw Bakery and he enthused on the great pastries. We had a few hours in Jasper. Naturally we made a point of coming into the pastry shop #1) the cute name and #2) we're lovers of pastries. Looked into the pastry display case - wasn't sure what I wanted to buy as we just had lunch. We decided on pastries as an afternoon snack. Got two bear paws shaped liked bear paws. Dense and heavy. Also got a crescent shaped pastry chocolate filled with chocolate swirl atop. Around 4pm same day back at our lodge I decided to consume my crescent shaped pastry. More like a dense turnover. Had lots of chocolate filled inside. The chocolate made the pastry. The shell was oily and crumbly. Hubby & daughter didn't eat the bear paws. Decided to save them for the next day. At breakfast the next morning we took the bear paws out of the brown paper bag. Well, the bear paws were hard as a rock and was not edible. Dry, dry, dry. And lacked taste. Not much cinnamon or anything else to speak of. Dunked in coffee. Still didn't help. Just baked flour & water. I have to say I've eaten lots of day old pastries in my time, and none were as bad as these. I'm not sure having the bear paws on the same day purchased would have helped as the bear paws were very tasteless. Sorry. read more

Read several recommendations but wasn't impressed. The coffee was good. We were hoping to get breakfast sandwiches as well, which we did, but they weren't very good. We got them from the deli counter and then self heated them up in the microwave. The best thing was the spinach & feta bread. We enjoyed the Other Paw for sandwiches for lunch another day. read more

The baked goods were so overwhelming and I stuck to what I liked, 2 days in a row/ spicy sausage roll and jalapeño cheese pretzel. Worth! It! AND they had a cart at the campsite I was at. 10/10 read more

Add this as a stop before or after your hike. The earlier, the better in my opinion because you need to try their sticky cinnamon buns. Their raspberry white chocolate scones are also super tasty (and that's coming from someone who doesn't really like scones). I was in Jasper for 3 days and I stopped here everyday just to try their different baked goods. The cinnamon bun bar none is my favourite. The bear paw is also good too! I wasn't particularly wowed by their savory options, but the options are there if you don't like sweets. The prices are also reasonable despite the location. Come on early, grab a coffee and baked treat and I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

Long line out the bakery but they have fast service. A lot of variety of freshly baked goods and coffee. There is even take our express window for just basic coffee. I got the Nanaimo bar and the cranberry white chocolate scone. When we walked in, it smelled delicious and the decorations were quaint. However the baked goods left a bit to be desired because it was too sweet and soft. I like my scones crunchy to bite into on the outside and flaky inside but instead the inside was like a very soft, slightly under cooked softness. The Nanaimo bar was also soft instead of the hard crust on the bottom. Thi couldn't taste thr maple in the maple Chai tea and the vanilla latte was basic. It feels over-hyped for the quality. I had high expectations after reading reviews and seeing the line of people and seeing the variety as I walked in. Will pass on the place next time. read more

Could be the shortest review needed ever. There was a line, it was worth waiting in and I could have eaten everything in there twice. Just ridiculous amount of quality baked goods. Then there was the coffee. Super bold and I think it was just the regular Bear Paw dark? Big read more

Great selection of pastries and bread for breakfast. They have a few sandwiches (including day-old ) you can grab before venturing out to your JNP destinations. Popular so the line can get long. There's a quick pick up window + online ordering, which might help you avoid a long wait. read more

Long line but it moved well. Decent coffee and mediocre veggie sandwich. Should have gotten the sweets

I'm here waiting in line because it was so good yesterday so guess there's always a wait... but you'll need it to decide which goodie you will order. Loved the sausage roll and sticky cinnamon rolls can't go wrong here read more

Cutest little cafe/bakery in jasper. If you're passing through definitely stop here. Their coffee is good, and you have to try the raspberry coconut bar if they have it, it's so good we went back the next day and drove an hour just to get another before heading off to Edmonton. The staff are friendly but it can get quite busy especially during lunch time. Expect a line up! They have sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, pastries, sausage rolls, soup, sweets, bread etc. Their iced americanos were great! Such a cute shop! read more

HAVE AGAIN: The cinnamon roll was very good. NOT HAVE AGAIN: The apricot danish and lemon blueberry muffin were too dry. Quite busy in the morning, but they have an express window for 5 or fewer items. read more

Arrived at 1215pm for lunch. Much was sold out. We had ham, egg and cheese sandwiches and they were horrendous. The egg was a cardboard hunk of scrambled egg and one slice of ham and plastic cheese slice. They prompted for 18% tip and we had to heat our own in a communal, dirty microwave! read more

The only place in Jasper where you can get early morning coffee before going to the hike. These guys open at 6am and the pastries are good but the coffee depends on who is making it: out of three times here we had decent coffee twice and terrible once. Don't order fancy staff like capuchino or caramel macchiato, they don't know how to make it properly. The only thing I hated is the smell of soap - they sell artisan soap there and I think it is a very bad match: when in coffee shop you want to smell coffee and not soap. read more

It's hard to say something that's not already been said. Great little bakery in downtown Jasper! There's usually a line, but it moved really quickly on the 2 occasions we stopped here. Looks like they offer everything from custom cakes to daily bakes, and all the coffee you can dream up. Lots of adolescents working in the back and turning out fresh baked goodies while we waited in line. There's a parking lot adjacent to the bakery-and plenty of street parking around, even in August! We ordered a Chocolate Chip scone and a sausage roll thing (evidently they're popular, but I can't recall what they were called!). The scone was perfect - the bake was perfect, and it wasn't too dry! The sausage thing was good, my husband ate most of it before I could get to it, but I liked my few bites! They accept debit and credit - and have a 'take out' window for quick orders outside the bakery - located on the sidewalk. This was closed when we visited, but would be a great thing if you're an easy orderer and in a rush! A great spot to stock up on some baked goods for your hike, breakfast, an afternoon, or even just a car ride! read more

Stumbled upon here because we were looking for something yummy! I can't believe how delicious these hot sticky buns are. I dream about them. I hope one day they can ship their sticky buns. They would have my vote for it. So if you don't know already, sticky buns are a must. The morning glory is nice because it's "healthy" i wasn't a huge fan of the bear claw- it was a bit hard. The lemon blueberry muffin was ok (its gluten free) it was too dense and wished it was fluffier. The apple cranberry was pretty soft and flavorful! The carrot muffin was delicious! Just be sure to get a half dozen of the sticky buns and you will be set for the day. read more

Opens early, good coffee and delicious baked goods. The vegetable samosa and their sandwiches are good to pack for hiking.

The girfriend and I ate several time here back during out first visit in 2008, and it was excellent then. The girlfriend-now-wife and I brought family on our recent trip to Canada, and it was still excellent. We ate here three or four times, and everything was wonderful. It's good to be here early before it starts to get crowded, although the staff is very good at keeping the customers moving. read more

Loved this bakery! The white chocolate and raspberry scone, cinnamon sticky bun, and spicy sausage roll were all amazing. They have an option for express window ordering (5 items or less) I would highly recommend if you know what you want already. We loved so much we went two days in row! read more

My wife and I visited based on online recommendations. We ordered a few items and decided to dine in, but the cutlery they kept near the communal microwave was mixed with dirty utensils, likely customers just put back the dirty ones in the wrong spot. When politely asking the cashier for a clean fork, she was dismissive and insinuated that I was lying by saying "are you sure the cutlery is dirty?", like yeah I'm sure why would anyone lie about that and why do I have to defend myself just to get a clean fork? That does not seem right after having just spent $30. The cashier's condescending attitude, especially after the fork request, was disappointing and highly unexpected. She eventually did give us a fork but she was rude about it, like I had just asked for a kidney. The time of visit was Feb 29, 2024 between 4-4:30 pm. As per the food, it was average and not as hyped as the reviews made it to be. For the price, we were expecting way better. Baked goods 3 stars, service 1 star. read more

Yes, this place is popular (and you will stand in a long line for items just to go) but given its very limited seating and if you have any concerns about cleanliness, then please reconsider because they have way too many flies for my taste. No, I didn't eat them but they are plentiful. Just not a place I recommend nor would I go back. read more

There's always a line out the door, and rightfully so! There are so many options for baked goods, my eyes were going all over the place. We got the white chocolate raspberry scone, strawberry dark chocolate scone, chocolate croissant, and a raisin bear paw. As per all the other yelp reviews, the raspberry scone was definitely the highlight. However, everything was phenomenal. They also have a section to the left side of the store with one day old goods in a grab bag. Definitely check those out, since there is a huge variety! A huge highlight was the specialty blueberry latte. Honestly still dreaming about it, it's really wonderful, with the perfect hint of blueberry. read more

This is by far my favorite little cafe in jasper. It has a sister cafe, "the other bear paw bakery" but i prefer this original one the most. Firstly you cannot argue with the price. I find all their items are completely affordable (half the price of Starbucks) and completely large portions and delicious! I consistently come back for the spicy sausage rolls.... they are amazing! If you don't mind a bit of spice, you should try these out. Also they're like 1.75. They also have a variety of delicious baked goods. My favorite is their white chocolate raspberry scones. My fiancee always gets their cheese sticks and i would recommend the pizza buns too. The only downside is i do find some of their muffins and scones to be a touch on the drier side at times but I've only experienced this once or twice. I tend to stick to my favorites. I also love their coffee. My favourite is the jasper brew and i ended up buying a bag to brew at home. It's a cute little place with moderate seating and lots of side street parking. I would definitely recommend you check this place out when you're in jasper! read more

Stopped at the bakery on Monday morning to stock up for our trip on the ice field parkway. It was packed! The bakery did not appoint. Great fresh selection of homemade style baked goods. Locals come here and hikers start the day here. It has a really good home spun feel good ambience. Makes you want to order one of each. There is a mix selection of 'day old' bread . Be sure to check it out. The service was not as cute or nice as the venue. That's why I removed a star. The older lady taking orders was rushing me along and expected me to buy a whole bag. My husband didn't like this much and choose not to order anything. When my number got called they seemed annoyed at my order. read more

We were staying next door and were excited to have a bakery close. Three days in a row we purchased products and were disappointed every time. The danish were not flaky and were dry and chewy. We bought egg salad sandwiches for a lunch while hiking and they flavourless- just plain egg and nothing else. For breakfast we tried the morning sandwich with ham, egg and cheese. It was a big thick hamburger bun and the egg was rubbery. We tried 2 kinds of muffins the next morning. The tops were burnt and the muffins , although tasty with nuts and fruit, were dry. After striking out 3 days in a row I felt justified in a poor rating. read more

If the end of the world were to happen and I'd have to find a little town in the middle of nowhere to fortify against a potential zombie attack, that town would be Jasper. And thank goodness because Jasper has a awesome homely bakery called the Bear's Paw. Before we headed back down to Calgary through the epic gorgeousness that is Jasper National Park, my family and I decided to stock up on some baked goods and of course, caffeinated beverages (it's a long drive). We had raspberry and coconut scones and I got a nice warm cup of London's Fog to bring with me - the scones themselves were fresh and more than filling and I found in my London's Fog, a perfectly balanced concoction of Earl Grey and steamed milk. Also, a perfectly placed piece of chocolate above the lid of my drink sure provided for a nice touch. read more

Best bakery to stop by after a long hike or paddling on pyramid lake. The coffee is great and so is their sticky cinnamon bun.
