A great place that accommodates my car group extremely well. We love meeting up here and eating! It's right off a smooth road, and everyone is quick and efficient inside!!! read more

I was glad to see them hang in there with all the construction that nearly shut them down for good. I stopped in for Breakfast and, while I think the redecorating is terrific, the breakfast was not something I'd go back for. The wrap I ordered had an "oily" taste to it and the "hash browns" were like potato straws that were deep fried - I'll still go back and try the lunch menu out as they've always had a great burger, but Breakfast is not their forte. read more

Went for breakfast which is something we do weekly in support of local restaurants. Parking lot empty. Should have taken that as a sign. Absolutely horrendous. Undercooked white pancakes, over cooked bacon. For a change up, the scrambled eggs seem to have been cooked a while ago and then reheated and then overcooked to a brown color. Plastic plates, plastic utensils, paper thin napkins. We didn't even finish our meal. And the dog didn't seem too thrilled with the bacon! 2 breakfasts, $19 dollars down the drain. Spare yourself the misery. read more

Fried clam sandwich was great -- totally loaded with giant deliciously fried pieces of clams. I haven't seen fried clams on the menu anywhere in a while. Looked like they had some good specials and some cheap beer ($1.50 Guiness 16 oz?...). Otherwise the place looked like it was from the middle of Wisconsin... read more

Drove past this place last week on a detour because of traffic. And I remembered a few years back when people were up in arms about it closing. So I was with my son and his friend shopping and decided to give this place a try. I love how old fashioned the dining room is. The booths are comfortable, fluffy people friendly and very clean. The staff was awesome very friendly. I paid $34 for 3 burgers, 3 small drinks, 2 fries and an onion ring. The burgers reminded me of Wendy's pattys. Very thin. The food came out great and we're made perfect. The buns however got soggy from the grease. My son's burger fell apart so he had to eat it with a fork. The onion rings were 3 big rings. 3! I the fries were thin like McD's but they were good. They don't salt them so you can salt them so that was nice. They staff doesn't come and check on you or anything while you're eating. It's not like an actual restaurant. It's like a fast food restaurant. An expensive fast food restaurant. The only saving grace about this place was the old fashioned feel, cleanliness and the staff was nice. Not worth $34 for 3 people that's for sure. read more

Please- the next customer who asks for a root beer float with chocolate ice cream; let them know you don't have any chocolate ice cream before you make it., not afterwards and act like it doesn't matter. When you make it with vanilla ice cream and pour chocolate syrup in it they will always be disappointed, out $4.00, pissed they didn't go to Mitchell's around the corner and mad at themselves that they gave this "used to be great place", another chance. read more

Hands down the best fried pickles I've ever had and I'm a huge fried pickle fan! They also have great burgers. Very pleasantly surprised with how great everything we've ordered from there is. The prices aren't bad at all either. read more

The peanut butter burger was great! (I wasn't sure what to expect.) Wife also enjoyed the hot dog. Delicious fries and deep fried pickles. Very fast service! read more

This place is my kid's favorite restaurant. Food is consistent and it's great that you can mostly get in and out on your own time-a big plus with little ones. You can walk up to the counter, order and pay. Food comes out to your table quickly, then you can eat and leave at your own pace. Quaint inside and the food is decent. Kids eat free on Tuesday. It's a charmer... read more

We went to this restaurant on our way home from vacation. My husband grew up on Cleveland so wanted to take me here. The food was good. We really wanted malts which I read they are known for. How disappointing to be told At 8pm that we couldn't get one. We were told that they close at 9pm and it takes awhile to clean the machine. There were two other groups of people seated who shared with us that they wanted shakes and were told the same thing. You close at 9 and take orders til 9. How do you remove a signature item from the menu at 8? Disappointing! read more

it is on the pricey side for a stand alone, I got 3 single patty burgers,3 large fries and 3 drinks for 40 dollars. Its nothing special I would go somewhere else. read more

I find this place to be unclean. The food is just okay. It has a great location and parking. Kid friendly.

NASTY. They are expensive, messed up our whole order and what we did get we didn't eat because it was so gross.

So, I have tried this place more than a handful of times and I don't get the hype. I went in with the kiddos for a quick and cheap dinner, and while I will give them quick, cheap is not the case. Two burgers with cheese and condiments, 2 tiny shakes and a side of fries came to $23, and then I left a tip, which I now regret. When the food came, my eldest got his burger and dug in. The little and I shared as he wont eat his own, so why waste the money? He made a face, and I figured out why after I tried it. Instead of ketchup it had mustard, a lot of mustard. Perhaps some eat burgers that way, but never me. So I walk up to the counter and after FINALLY getting cashiers attention, I explained I didn't order it this way. She proceeded to insist I did. I am not arguing with a 17 year old, so I just ask them to remake it. She agreed, but still insisted I asked for mustard. I left annoyed, underwhelmed and wishing I went to Jammy Buggers as I would have spent less there and left happy. Next time I will allow my 7 year old to have steak and shake as he wanted where I will expect no more than a mediocre dinner. read more

OMG .. OMG .. OMG .. when this placed closed for a couple years it was like losing a best friend .. so happy to have my best friend back again .. this is by far my most favorite restaurant .. is it the best burger? .. well no . .but it is damn close .. there is just something so comforting about going to Bearden's .. been going there for 43 years .. as long as I have been alive .. as much as the decor has changed (although not too many times) the food has always been consistant .. do have to say the milkshakes are not as thick as they used to be but their burgers + onion rings + slim Jim fries are what I seek the most .. so glad to have them open again .. my how I missed it! read more

Great spot. Burgers, shakes, fries: it all rocks.

I flew to Cleveland for my high school reunion, my first stop was Bearden's for my most favorite burger. They are huge, cover the bun, fresh never frozen and just as good as I remember from my childhood when I used to go with my Dad. Talk about comfort food, homemade beer battered onion rings are massive. They even have their own bottled Bearden's Root Beer sweet, creamy and very nice as a root beer float, too read more

So disappointed with to go service. They put the fries and onion rings in a bag instead of a box and the grease from the food soaked through and when we got home the bags ripped and the food was all over the floor. What a waste of $24.00. read more

Solid food, good sized portions and leaves you wanting to come back for more. It's a very good atmosphere with great service and very retro. Can't complain one bit. read more

Consistently good burgers and fries, and awesome fresh onion rings!

I am amazingly stunned that this has closed. My grandmother ate here, my parents ate here, my brother and myself were taken here quite often growing up, mmmmthe fresh fresh not frozen, fall apart mel.t in your mouth burgers, then I got married and my son ate here even up to age 30 and I took my grandcchild to beardens. When ever we came to Cleveland it is the place I thought of most and craved badly. Unfortunatly, the last time we ate there our burgers where frozen patties, you can taste frozen hamburger, it was not soft, it was worse than mcdonalds. I was so disappointed and cried all the way home. I wanted to ccall the and yell at them, charge a buck more and go back to your relatives way of doing it. Make it what we all remember it the best dam burger in Ohio. Ibet the family wont bother to spend the money to reopen, It would be worth it, you could have a grand reopeniing. Anyway, the old Beardens had so much charm and youo felt like you were eating someplace special, the it go turned intoo a modern boring place. I am so sad that it is gone and all the family invvolvement throughout the years. It is something that those who never went to will never know the family restaurant that you would go to again and again. so sad. read more

Such a great burger place! I've been coming here ever since I was a kid! Great shakes, burgers, and onion rings! The remodel really updated the place and makes it look really nice! The workers are very friendly and always have a smile on their face. Overall, a very nice restaurant. read more

Food & atmospher was awesome .Its a small restaurant ,friendly place just sit & relax with comfort food.

I took my 3 year old grandson for his first milkshake on Saturday at 6PM. After waiting in line to place our order they stopped taking orders "to catch up". About 15 minutes later they started taking orders again. The process was very slow. By 7 PM when we still didn't have our food, I asked when it would be ready. Nobody seemed to have a clue. The dining room was half empty. Not sure what the issue was and no explanation was given. I asked for my money back. And the person never even bothered to apologize. Very poor customer service!!! I won't go back. read more

Nice little old diner keeping the old days alive. Excellent steakburgers and amazing onion rings and shakes.

I hate to write such a bad review for such a local place. I came to Bearden's expecting a great smashed burger and friendly environment. When we first came in on a Saturday afternoon we were greeted by staff member stating there would be a 15 minute just to place the order. While waiting I saw an older lady ask a staff member when the coffee would be back out and he said he did not know as they are still making it. Well the whole hour we were there the coffee never came out. The restaurant was disgusting spilled soda on a table all over the floor and the staff just kept walking over it, The ketchup bottle had ketchup all over the outside. The tables were all messy with garbage and scattered chairs. The basket bins where over flowing. I also had to point a table out to the worker who was unable to read table numbers cards. This certain staff member even said under his breath "I have no Idea what I am doing' Our food finally came and all of our toppings were switched between our sandwiches but still did taste good. The fries were tasty at least. I really wanted to like this place and contemplated writing a bad review but the lack of management and quality of work that day was the worst I have experienced ever. Will never go back. read more

I used to frequent Bearden's and was in for my first time this evening after the re-opening. Five tables on a Friday night is not a good sign. Notes and suggestions: Basics - have wait staff sweep the floor after patrons leave. There was food underneath several tables and we were there 45 minutes without anyone making sure the tables/floor were clean. Second, have the wait staff check in on the patrons. I didn't see much of that. Keep drink station stocked and clean. No coffee or sugar. If this restaurant is going to succeed, here's what needs to happen in addition to the basics: Wait staff - if you are going to make the restaurant feel like a 50's diner, have the wait staff dress as such (50's hospitality is also welcome). Music - the juke box said free, but nothing played and when we asked the staff to turn it up - nothing. The Beach Boys should definitely be playing at a place like this. Drown out the train and the kids. It didn't seem like anyone but teenagers were running the place. Management was absent or possibly incompetant. Differentiate yourself: car hop Fridays; drive in movie nights - put up a movie screen in the back parking lot and play old 50, 60 and 70's movies. This could be a really cool place if someone put the effort into it. If things stay the same, this will be closed again before too long. read more

I have been a fan of Bearden's since a youth. They had a restaurant on Rocky River Drive at the corner of my grandmother's street. I loved their steakburgers. Now, the current restaurant on Lake Road serves very good food; no complaints there. However I had a very bad experience not once, but, twice! The owners need to address the lack of or focus on customer service. First, they changed their ordering where people wait in line down the long hallway before being seated. This was found by my wife when, after making a phone order she arrived to picked it up. When my wife arrived she moved to the counter to request the order. The attendant informed her she could not be waited on and to stand at the end of the line. She reiterated she had a phone order and he insisted to go to the end (about 20 people) of the line. WHY would I buy $25 in food that is sitting on the counter getting cold while waiting for 20 people to order their food just to I pay and leave while the food is still hopefully hot.) Now my wife rightfully declined and returned home (20 minutes round trip.) We then ordered from Five Guys. I complained to the "manager" who assured me we would have a $10 credit next visit. Well that visit was several weeks later and, you guessed it, NO one had a clue what i was talking about. This time my wife ordered and i went to claim our food. When I arrived I asked for the order and to speak to a manager since they did not have any information on our "credit." The attendant asked if I was Tom and ,yes, that is my name. THen i got into a discussion on the error. The "manager" on duty this Sunday evening said he would give me a 25% discount on my bill. They charged me $32.14, I was surprised at the large bill (3 burgers,1 fries, shake for 3 people) when they said I had four burgers. Now they insisted we ordered these and I asked why since we were just three people. The girl at the counter swore she took the order and we did ask for four burgers. No one checked the order. I reluctantly paid drove home to find nothing in the bag was ordered by us. yes, someone else's order that they brow beat me not to question by calling home. I returned;again (three visits to buy one family meal) to get our order. Here I got three hamburgers, not three cheeseburgers as ordered, and the total "discount" for all my troubles $5.42. Sorry Bearden's I have a Jeep Hemi - I spent more than that on gas for three trips to your store and still didn't get a satisfactory meal! I would have written off the first gaff not the second one that was supposed to make good! read more
