Very disappointing experience. My family and I walked in and ordered a meal for three that came out 30 minutes later. Which would be fine--but the staff in the back weren't taking their jobs seriously at all! I saw them joking around in the back instead of preparing the food that we paid for. I noticed that they didn't start making our food until about 10 minutes after we ordered. Bear in mind that there were only a couple other customers in the restaurant at that time. On top of that, we ordered and an extra burger and a milkshake after our first meal that took another 30 minutes to get. Milkshake was melty and the burger was ABSOLUTELY NOT worth the wait. If you're looking for something fast and not half-bad, you're better off going to a McDonald's, Chick-Fil-A, or a Wendy's. read more

We ordered a ton of burgers well, in advance for our Thanksgiving celebration (as an option for picky kiddos who won't eat turkey). We ordered enough that the surprisingly small size wasn't an issue, but BLECHH- multiple buns had mold on them (posting a pic of one before it got tossed in the trash); was on ~1/3 or 1/2 of them... others were worse and the rest looked ok . Turned us off to the entire batch- we wasted $30-ish on moldy food. Possibly safe to cut out the mold, or just pull them out the buns ('happy TGiving, kids- here's a sus meat patty'). However were concerned that the meat may have also been beyond its usable date, and that mightn't have been visible. So the entire bag went into the trash. TLDR for this review, This place was meh. The floors were pretty dirty everywhere, the looks were equal to your average fast food place. There were no service highlights the waiters were fine but they did forget a milkshake. The cheese on the fries felt processed and thick. Also the burger was had no flavor until the back half which makes no sense but the back half was ok. Overall this place was ok but the dirty floors drop it down to 2 stars. read more

The burger was delicious. The beef patty was juicy, the vegetables were fresh (no wilted lettuce & no suspicious tomatoes here!), the bacon was crispy, and the potato bun held it all together well. I also appreciated the service - the mobile order pick up process was easy and on time. The restaurant was clean, though I did wish there was seating with cushioning (but that's just me nitpicking). Just started eating on patio since it was 72deg but then some loser started smoking right by us so we had to move inside after 2 mins. PROS: wife liked the veggie burger patty. What can I say? Compared to, say, Five Guys its about the same price but slightly smaller serving size but just as fast and not as greasy. Plus, they also sell wine and beer! The food was great- fresh, hot smashburgers with unique toppings and great fries and made-to-order specialty shakes. Clean dining area, decent price, plenty of seating and plenty of parking. Sometimes we want to try something new, so we thought it would be worth trying Shack Shack in Westlake. I regret not going to Wendy's or McDonald's instead, that would have been cheaper, and we would have better service. The thin cheeseburger with some melted cheese for $7? And the double smoke shack, which was not even close to what their picture on the display showed, and not much bigger than the single plain cheeseburger $12? With two small fries (tasteless with no salt at all) and two small shakes we ended up paying $43. But besides the outraged price for two mediocre meals, I was deeply disappointed with the location itself and the service. Everyone is asked to order on their computer displays near the counter, we went straight to the counter to order there. First of all because I go out to eat to get service, secondly because I do not pay with credit cards in restaurants. It took the guy in the back a while to realize that he had customers waiting, he was so busy playing on his phone. He was not very eager to take out order. The attitude these "young kids" have these days is killing customer service in America. Business owners need to teach them manners and how to treat a paying customer. Clean, speedy polite service, cool interior layout and design. Food was great - I've always loved their burgers, but tried the chicken avocado bacon sandwich, and was very pleased. People rave about the cheesy fries but I'll stick with the regular next time. This Shake Shack is 10 times better than the one at Pinecrest, so if you're so inclined to drive, an extra 20 miles, do it. The only flaw with the restaurant was the front door, which was extremely heavy and almost seemed stuck. We ate outside and watched 100% of the people get flummoxed. Shack Shack Westlake is on Crocker Road across from Crocker Back (from the intersection of Detroit and Crocker Roads go south). I like how the tables say "MADE IN THE USA." With all the talk about social issues I have always thought that supporting American jobs should come up, try a Buick, Ford, Lincoln, or an Apple product. The veggie burger is possibly the best in the fast causal restaurant category. The black and white milkshake is thick and REAL. The holiday and black velvet shakes are also top notch. read more

We took our granddaughter to the new Shake Shack in Westlake, OH at Crocker Park. We ordered a burger, 2 chicken sandwiches, 1 spicy fries, 2 cheesy fries and 3 milkshakes. The first insult was that this fast food bill came to $61. That's just effing ridiculous for what it is. Next, the food is only mediocre. The burger was ok, a little greasy and nothing special. The chicken sandwiches were overcooked and a little dry as well as not as meaty as I expected for the price. The fries were frozen crinkle cut and the spicy ones had so much spice dumped on them that they were inedible. We had to throw them out. The milkshakes were, well... milkshakes. How can that go wrong? We placed our own order, gave a number they were supposed to text when it came time to go to the counter and get our food and sat at a dirty table to eat because no one was cleaning after diners left. Instead of texting, a teen brought our food to our table on a tray after wandering the restaurant shouting out my name. Picture, Buehler.. Buehler... Buehler... But then at the end of placing the order ourselves on a tablet at an order station with no human involvement, it was suggested we tip. Tip whom exactly? And for what? As we were eating, my husband searched the company on his browser to see what the scuttlebutt was on this new, super expensive, mediocre, at best, fast food joint. Turns out that the company recently decided to pay its employees a higher hourly rate and nixed the tip idea. Apparently, they forgot to inform the Westlake store. We would never eat at a Shake Shack again. If I want to spend a boat load on fast food, I will go to 5 Guys where at least the food is good and I don't have to throw any in the trash. read more

I have been to this location approximately half a dozen times and each time I have a different experience. Most of which are sub par. I love the black and white shake, it is supposed to be a marbled shake, but it is consistently overspun and made into a normal chocolate shake. The only time I have had it made correctly was when the manager made it. As for entrees I love the shroom burger (vegetarian) and the beef shroom burger, it so so savory and has a phenomenal umami taste. I love that they have a kiosk option but if you only have cash they do have a walk up option the only problem is... when I pay cash they do not take off their gloves/ change their gloves in the process meaning that their hands are dirty from handling cash and they go straight to handling food. I think that the food that they provide (besides the shakes) is consistent in flavor and for the price and quality I think it is a decent fast causal restaurant. If you didn't pick up your order, a staff member would walk around and ask but the drink service is not the best. I Asked for a lemonade.
