This place is great, I came here with a friend on our way out of Edinburgh to grab a quick breakfast and coffee. And I had a hard time choosing but I ended up getting a Biscoff cream filled doughnut and a regular black coffee. The donut was incredible and this was by far my favorite cup of coffee during my trip in Scotland, the only negative is that they don't sell the beans so that I can to make this coffee at home. The cafe is pretty small on the inside so you will be lucky if you get a table however during my time there, it was never that crowded. The woman helping us was super friendly as we had a lot of questions since my friend has dietary restrictions and I just couldn't choose from all the amazing options!! Overall if you're in Edinburgh looking for a cute little café I would highly recommend this place you won't regret it!

Randomly stopped at the Bearded Baker in need of some coffee on a walk through Edinburgh. This little cafe was great! While the inside is quite small, I was lucky to grab a table for myself and two friends. Note that likely because it is small, it costs slightly more to sit in than to take your order to go. However, no matter how you decide to eat your order it is definitely worth it. The cafe is decorated wonderfully, and there is honey, little plants, and other small gifts for sale. We ordered a cappuccino, a latte, a raspberry donut, a chocolate hazelnut donut, and a reuben on a bagel. Everything was absolutely delicious. The cappuccino and latte were creamy and delicious. The donuts were some of the best we ever tasted, with fluffy pastry and decadent fillings. The sandwich was also fresh and super yummy. Service here was also great and very friendly. I would highly recommend grabbing a bite here! Bearded baker truly masters what they offer- bagels, donuts, and coffee!

Opening soon but you can see already that the oven is running for a while...

Oh my goodness! Everything looks amazing from the happy…read morecolorful window to the amazing baked goods. I love that Tasty Buns is a bakery on Bread Street. I adored the lime, poppyseed, and blueberry roulade! It was gone before the soup and toastie sandwich arrived. Crispy on the outside and so very soft and tasty on the inside. The cookie pie was impressive, but I honestly liked the roulade so much better. The soup today was broccoli and it was delicious! I had a ham and cheese sandwich lightly grilled in a panini press. Mom had a chorizo sandwich. The ladies at the bakery were lovely! Friendly happy folk always make food taste better! The bakery was quiet and not busy at 12:30 pm. It wasn't empty, just not busy. We got a table for 3! It was funny (and also a sad commentary on humans) that the still water available said "Please turn the tap off." Silly people. Thank you so much for a wonderful lunch! Mom said very good! Very different!

My very first time I came I tried a vegan cinnamon bun. It was warm, soft, and had that sweet caramelization from the sugar on the bun. It was soooo good. After that, I kept coming back about once a week to grab a treat and sometimes a drink. Everything I've tried has been so delicious and the staff is always very kind. If you follow them on Instagram they even sometimes release what goods are in the shop since they switch it up! Tasty Buns definitely became a go to of mine and I think there is truly something for anyone with a sweet tooth!

The young lady beyond the counter on my first visit was very friendly and helpful, providing some lovely advice and tips for my trip (including for my proposed visit to her native area of England); if any manager/owner is reading, she gets major props! The gentleman who was working on my second trip was also friendly and helpful z but he was working on the back as well, so there was less interaction. Between my 2 visits, Zi tried a variety of pies, pasties, & rolls, all of which were very tasty (although there's something about a Greggs sausage roll; I'd stick to the pies and pasties here, and walk a couple of doors up the street for one of those.). If I'm ever back in the area z I'll be sure to stop in!

These pies are a great light lunch or snack when consumed by themselves. Or one can get a variety of them and make it a meal. The pies are made fresh daily and displayed in the glass case at the counter along with other British style fried foods such as Tattie Dogs, Sausage Rolls, etc. There are a variety of the infamous pies offered. We tried a Steak and Ale pie and an Original Scotch Pie with brown sauce packet for the pour over. I enjoyed mine (Scotch Pie) and could've eaten a couple more God willing. Along with an Irn Bru, this was a satisfying and affodable meal. Definitely give this place a try when in the area.

I sat at a little table next to the window and was brought my order. The cinnamon bun was really soft and had a lovely flavor. The chai was sweet and didn't have too much spice but I enjoyed it! Overall the vibe of the cafe itself is really cute and they have plenty of baked goods, hot and cold beverages, and savory options to appeal to a reasonable palate. I've been back a couple more times since this occasion to try more baked goods and get a hot chocolate! I've always been very pleased by my experience and will continue to return!

As long as you don't stay overstay your welcome, that is. ;) The OAT MILK CAPPUCCINO was frothy and creamy, but overall it was just okay. Not the best, not the worst, right in the middle. I loved the icing on the VEGAN CARROT CAKE. It was smooth and sweet, but not too sweet. It also had a pop of citrus. As for the cake, I was underwhelmed. It was lacking in carrot flavor and was denser than I'd prefer. However, I did enjoy the big chunks of nuts and raisins. EXTRA: Super cute decor They have a retail section in the front that sells coffee, jewelry, mugs, pens, vitamins, etc. Friendly service Decent size space and amount of tables The bathroom is downstairs "Weekends are lap top free" that's what the sign says, at least Not sure how I feel about this sign: "If busy, please limit your stay to an hour.. thanks for being cool." At least they're honest, I suppose, but still...
