Stopped in while in line for Izumi. I would recommend the original with vanilla but the chocolate filling with it i think it good as well. I got the chocolate shell but it wasnt satisfying bc it was too hard and cant really taste the chocolate that much. The service was very good and they answered my questions well. Would recommend for a not too sweet treat!

It was yummy! The filling was more like ice cream. They were large and easily shareable. It was a fun dessert to try if you are in the area.

What a cute cream puff shop. I was helped pretty quickly upon entering the store. The they had a ton of cream puff shells stacked up and ready to be filled. I ordered a box of 6 for a friend's birthday and I decided to order one for myself. I tried the eclair cream puff with vanilla filling. It was delicious. They are very generous with the filling. The staff were very helpful and the shop is nice and clean on the inside. I'll definitely be back.

man, i used to be so into cream puffs back in my youth. ok i'm not that old (yet) LOL, but i haven't had beard papa's in a hot minute. the puffs are still delicious, but i have to say they're definitely more expensive now and seem smaller than i remember. i swear they used to feel bigger than my hand; though to be fair, i was a small child when i used to get them. the cream would be overflowing everywhere and it was messy (but fun) to eat hehe. those days are in the past now...

Beard Papa is such a treat! The staff were friendly and accommodating, and in-store they have more flavors than the app shows (the app also has weird ordering time limits that don't exist in person--definitely could improve that). The matcha filling is a standout--smooth, rich, and delicious. Everything I tried was tasty, nicely packaged, and fresh. The plaza location is nice, with other food options nearby for a little stroll. I loved being able to mix and match fillings and toppings--makes it fun to customize. Hard to pick a favorite, but the matcha cream puff and matcha topping top my list. Eclairs are also excellent. Great spot for customizable cream puff desserts!

I tried their matcha & chocolate cream puffs for the first time and It didn't disappoint. I've never been a fan of sweets, but these were good. My favorite was the matcha cream puff. Great Japanese cream puffs, not overly sweet!

1/2 filled cream puff!

The cream puffs are delicious, but lately, what's up with not filling it up all the way? I've gotten cream puffs that are only half full...it should gush out when you bite it. To the folks working there, please don't skimp on the filling!

We went to Bear Papa's yesterday. We've tried Beard Papa's back home but only went a few times. We didn't think it was that great. We were kind of skeptical at first since the ones we had in the past were so-so. They had a lot of different choices for the fillings and shells. We got one strawberry shortcake with strawberry cream inside, original with cream, and original with chocolate. The cream puffs were so good. They had a lot of cream in it. I enjoyed my strawberry shortcake one. I tried my daughter's one with the chocolate cream and it was good too. I just looked it up and it looks like they don't have a Beard Papa's in Hawaii anymore, sad face. I'll just have to come and check out Beard Papa's when we come back up again.

Mini cream puffs

Yummy! Haven't been in years and decided to go in for a treat after picking up a few groceries next door. The two gentlemen working were friendly and greeted us with a smile. We ordered the mini puffs to go and chose vanilla and chocolate. I wanted to try green tea but you have to order two of same flavor and I just wanted one. The gentleman graciously gave me an extra one, green tea. It's a quaint little shop with minimum decor. It would be nice if they had a few chairs to rest weary feet as we wait for our order but it does go quick. We waited less than ten minutes as there were two ahead of us. The mini cream puffs are the right size for a little treat. They are filled with fresh cream and have a nice soft crunch on the outside. Oishi! Highly recommend.

I am a big proponent of cream puffs from beard papa's and my SO loves this place, so he brought me here to try out their Mashle collab. He got a t-shirt and the 6 cream puffs box set that went with each character. We quickly went home, elated to sink our teeth into the cream puffs. We must have come at a bad time as the cream puffs were not made to the same quality as they usually were, as they tasted a bit overcooked and each had wayyyyy too much cream.

Beard Papa's Cupertino - The Best Cream Puffs in the Bay Area I have been visiting Beard Papa's in Cupertino since they first opened, and it continues to be one of my favorite dessert spots in the South Bay. The cream puffs here showcase true Japanese artistry, with light, flaky shells and silky custard fillings that taste fresh and balanced. Since I prefer desserts that are not overly sweet, I usually stick with the classics, but I also appreciate how they offer creative seasonal shells and fillings to cater to different palates. Every shell is baked fresh each morning, and each puff is filled to order, which makes all the difference in taste and texture. The store also offers a simple loyalty program tied to your phone number, plus a complimentary cream puff on your birthday with purchase. It is important to note that these cream puffs are best enjoyed the same day. After about 12 hours, the shell can lose its crispness and the flavor and texture shift, so keep that in mind if you plan to buy a half-dozen or a dozen at a discount. Must-Try Desserts at Beard Papa's Cupertino Mini Puffs (6 pieces) ($7.35) - 4.8/5 Perfect for sharing, with a satisfying shell-to-cream ratio. I always choose the vanilla filling, which never disappoints. Original Shell with Vanilla Filling ($4.40) - 5/5 The signature choice and my favorite. The puff has a golden, crunchy exterior with a soft croissant-like interior, and the vanilla custard has just the right level of creaminess and viscosity. A flawless pairing. Original Shell with Green Tea Filling ($4.40) - 4/5 For green tea fans, this filling has a noticeable matcha flavor mixed with the vanilla cream. While it is refreshing, I personally prefer the classic vanilla, as the texture of the green tea version is thicker and richer. Original Shell with Chocolate Filling ($4.40) - 3/5 The chocolate filling is bold in cacao flavor, but the texture is the thickest compared to the others, and it leaves the mouth a little dry. Worth trying if you love chocolate, though not my favorite. Crème Brûlée with Vanilla Filling ($5.40) - 5/5 A delightful twist on a classic dessert. The caramelized top adds a delicate crunch that pairs beautifully with the creamy vanilla custard. I always grab one of these if they are available. Chocolate Fondant ($4.90) - 2/5 This was a miss for me. The cake was dry and too rich in flavor. Beard Papa's is best enjoyed for its cream puffs, and I recommend skipping the other baked goods. Final Thoughts Beard Papa's in Cupertino remains a true gem for dessert lovers. While the ambiance of the shop feels a bit less polished than it once did, the quality of the cream puffs has never wavered. The fact that this location survived the pandemic speaks to the loyalty of its customers and the excellence of its products. If you are searching for the best cream puffs in Cupertino or the Bay Area, this is the place to go.

Puffed pastry with creamy centers? Sign me up! I dropped by after visiting Daiso to pick up some stuff for work. The smell of fresh pastry was just too irresistible. It was nice and warm inside the shop. I ordered and before I was even done paying, my order was ready! The mini puffs with chocolate were enjoyed before I even left the plaza - there was some music from a performance that invited me to sit and eat the delicious puffs. The shells were nice and crispy - there was an awesome crunch to them. The inside chocolate filling was yummy - a bit runny since I didn't eat them all right away, but great tasting none the less. Overall, a great place for some dessert. They also have ice cream puffs, but I didn't think I should have that for breakfast... At least not today, anyway.

Lots of great flavors to choose from! It was fun trying a bite from each of the puffs. I thought it was all a hit.

A delicious treat when they get the order correct. Yes, it's busy, but there aren't too many ways to top and fill a cream puff, am I right?

Ask the Community - Beard Papa's

Could I order online and do curbside pick up?

Yes

Is this business taking phone calls? The phone keeps ringing or disconnects immediately...

The same happened to me as well so I came in person. On the day I went, they were late to open, only had two people working, and my online order was cancelled. They could be overwhelmed and/or under staffed.

How often do u make the milk tea flavor? And if I do an order of a dozen or 2 dozen of mini puff, would u be able to make that seasonal/temporary flavor and another another regular flavor? e.g., 12 milk tea and 12 green tea to make a 2 dozen?

It's seasonal. No milk tea flavor. This month (Oct) is caramel pumpkin then next month is apple.

I love that you can also order their cakes on the app, without having to call in. Their workers are generally pretty nice, and they do offer to heat up your pastries if you want when you pick it up. This location has outdoor seating as well as indoor seating, so it was nice to be able to sit outside with my dogs. It's in a large plaza with plenty of parking, so you won't have any trouble. I've tried their salt bread, which needed more butter and just taste like a decent dinner roll. Everything else though was good. Their coffee croissant was delicious, but slightly too sweet due to all the icing and filling. Their limited edition Biscoff cake slice was amazing if you love cookie butter it was thick and fudgy. And you can't go wrong with their strawberry fresh cream cake, which is usually really light and fluffy with a not too sweet cream that Asian families can enjoy. I've only had the experience of a dry cake, one time, possibly because it was sitting out for too long? Either way, Paris Baguette is one of my go to Asian bakeries for a good pastry and cake.

Even as I grew older, I never grew out of combing through their catalogue of delightful egg tarts and sweet and savory buns. The experience I'm speaking about today pertains to their custom cake order. You will likely need to speak Cantonese or Mandarin Chinese for this. I ordered a 1/2 sheet cake for my party of approximately 20 people, and we had almost half of the cake left over to spare! To be fair, I did give a much more generous estimate (I mentioned that there would be around 20-30 people attending my party). Definitely would've downsized had I known everyone's appetite would be so small. The ladies working there will let you know which size is best for your party. The cake was gigantic, and made in my favorite flavor (their mango mousse) with my birthday message written atop it in red and white icing. I loved everything about it! They're generous with the pickup process, you can definitely arrive after the time you specified for picking up. Everything went very smoothly, my friends were surprised that the cake was so delicious and many had never even had a mango flavored cake to begin with either! The creamy rich mousse layers complement the spongey cake perfectly. It was $135 total, but if you get their regular fruit cream cake, it'll be cheaper than if you pick a specialty cake (their tiramisu, passionfruit, etc).
