At 7:01, an announcement came on saying the store had been closed for one minute and to head to the register. Totally fair. I needed one more thing from produce so I hurried- another announcement at 7:02 said to "stop shopping- we are closed" I grabbed my last item and went up front. By 7:03, I was already being checked out. And yet the reaction from staff was... unbelievable. There were several employees standing at the front just staring at me--clearly irritated, like I'd personally ruined their evening. It was three minutes past closing. Not 30. Not 15. Three. Then it somehow got worse. They were out of bags (understandable), so I asked if I could use the hand basket to carry my items to my car, which was literally parked right in front of the doors to the store. I was told no, "these baskets cant leave the store"--and that I needed to go outside and get a cart instead. So I had to run out, grab a cart, and come back in... while the entire staff stood there watching me. There must have been 6 or 7 employees glaring at me with dirty looks like I had insulted them personally. The older checker was grumpy and rude, but honestly the whole team contributed to making the experience feel hostile and unwelcoming. I completely understand wanting to close on time. But if ringing someone up at 7:03 feels like a crisis to your staff, that's a management issue--not a customer problem. Also- why not sell reusable bags if you run out of bags so often? I would have bought one to make it faster for me to exit the store. Seems like a simple solution to avoid the extreme stress your staff is experiencing

I definitely won't order a burger from there again because I don't feel that the customer should have to tell a business what proper cooked hamburger meat is, and they also have no warnings anywhere that their meat is undercooked. If they even read these reviews, according to Google, "consuming undercooked ground beef can harbor bacteria like E. coli, Salmonella, and Campylobacter, which can cause foodborne illnesses (food poisoning)." Hopefully whoever has their food handling license and is cooking the food understands the risks they are putting their customers through.

The remaining Raley's requires a trip to the "Y", which on this Sunday afternoon offered very little traffic. The home cupboard was largely bare, so groceries for home was a necessity. South Lake doesn't have a Costco or Trader Joes (both available near Carson City along with much cheaper gasoline prices), but it does have Whole Foods, Smart and Final, and a much larger Raley's than the one we shop at in Carson City. Parking was plentiful and it was easy to get back on the road. The hardest part about our shopping experience is that we didn't know the store, which required a lot of walking distance wise and finding the particular rows we were looking for. Compared to our Carson City Raley's there was a lot more selection and temptations. Check out was a bit slow for a Sunday afternoon, but we were in no hurry to get anywhere, except home.

I reminded her that the nice older man was waiting for her approval and there a line in the tire center- She was rude! She said it's not her priority and she'll get there when she does.... I told her he's been waiting for awhile and I said thank you my appointment was over an hour ago .... She was rude Again and said move out of the costumer service line. No " I'm sorry and I will help" no please set out of the line and I will get to you soon". Nothing! Just rude, nasty , older big woman barking orders . Shame !!! I called the store and after many attempts to actually speak with someone, they put me back on hold for over 15 minutes. After 37 minutes total with trying to cancel my order, I was able to contact someone from the service who was able to help me with the order. the local store is awful. customer service has gone to hell.
