This weekend, we returned as a family of five (including kids aged 10, 6, and 4) for a one night stay and two sinus 'n' eye burning days in the heavily chlorinated water park. I have a lengthy separate review in Great Wolf Lodge, and encourage you to go find it if you're heading here. However if memory serves (a diminishing returns bet, as I get older), I did not include information about this little shop in the downstairs "L1" lobby adjacent to the water park entrance. Considering everything else at GWL is sort of corny and annoyingly staffed by high school kids who passed a basic skills test and a drug screening (probably), the ice cream and bakery place downstairs is pretty good! We came here after a long day of slipping and sliding-- and that was just on the lethally-slick floors inside the water park proper. Dinner from Alberto's down the street left plenty to be desired (yet another review I've yet to commit to Yelp), and dessert was definitely in high demand. After waiting in a short line, I ordered double scoop cups of Dreyers ice cream for about $4 and change each. One thing high school kids are good at, it seems, is scooping ice cream, and they did a great job piling it on. As I age, so do I... but maybe that anecdote is better served in a 24 Hour Fitness review... Anyway, while standing there, I noted a bakery case with lots of tasty looking muffins and danish-ey things. There is also a fresh squeezed juice machine or two behind the counter. Alas, none of this goes well with a double scoop of mint chip and cookie dough ice cream. I wanted double fudge brownie, but they were out. Better luck on the Five Star next time, inventory control. If you find yourself stranded-- ehh, I mean, visiting the G-dubya-L, make sure you grab a scoop here. You can even pay with your handy dandy wristband that is linked to your credit card on file. Thank goodness the kids' wristbands aren't.....

This place is located on the lowest floor of Great Wolf Lodge, right across from the entrance to the water park. There is no seating. Outside the doors there are a couple benches but no tables. Tried this place for lunch and had the roast beef and cheddar sandwich. It was a little over $9 and came with a pickle and chips. They brought it out pre-made from the back. Bread was squished and not very good. It had a decent amount of meat. They heated it up for me, but you have to squeeze on your own mayo/mustard. I did try it for ice cream and this is the reason I would give it three stars instead of two. Ice cream is good with decent portions. If you want lunch, I would recommend ordering from the place in the water park area. They make the food to order and prices are comparable.

Fair prices for cakes. I am not sure what different cultures call the types of cakes they sell…read morehere. In Mexican culture we call them "pastel de mil hojas" which translates to a thousand sheet cake. I am a huuuuge fan of thousand sheet cake. After my husband birthday cake was a bust, we came here and were so glad we did. This is truly one of the best thousand sheet cakes we've ever had. We were taken a little back by what it looked like inside. There are lots of plants and we didn't seen any display of cakes. There was a family just standing there and we saw an older woman cutting strawberries. We were helped and were able to pay with a credit card. We ordered the 1/4 sheet cake and paid $45 which is more than fair. The cake is layered with cake, the thousand sheets, whipped topping, and a variety of fresh fruit. It is honestly so delicious and looks beautiful. They can also add a "happy birthday" for you if you'd like. The cake came in a box and with a disposable/plastic cake knife. Overall, I am super happy with my purchase and will return!

I will say that this place has a great fruit cake with a crispy delicious middle layer along with a vanilla fluffy layer. Its the delicious fruit cake that one would get at that other place inside a little strip mall in santa ana. Do I like this one better, you bet!!! Pro tip: Their storefront looks like a flower shop between the corner bakery and grocery store. Great job cake lady!

Came with my husband while we…read morewere in Anaheim for a work conference of his, and if our hotel had been closer there's a good chance I would have come here on the other days we were in Anaheim as well! I think they also do non-vegetarian banh mi etc. as well, but things are pretty clearly marked. The ladies at the shop were really friendly and even offered me a sample of the "fried chicken" (which is oyster mushrooms in a fried chicken style batter, fried to crispy perfection), and if I weren't already getting banh mi and a box of pastries, I would have gotten that as well! All of the pastries we got, sweet or savory, were also really good, but I think the savory ones were my favorites because they're different from what I can find in my area. My non-veg husband really liked the "ham & cheese" croissant, which I think was probably his favorite. We both got the "combination" banh mi, and they were very fresh tasting! There were a lot more things I wanted to try, but we were only going to be in Anaheim for three days and I wasn't sure I would feel super safe taking a Lyft out to a random small shopping plaza in an area I don't know on my own (we went right after we checked into the hotel, so before my husband's conference started). The plaza itself is busy and seems like it's been there for a while, and is something of a contrast to the clean and relatively modern/new interior of the bakery. The bakery doesn't actually have any seating etc., so it seems the expectation is that everything is to go, but after our flight had been delayed twice, we were pretty hungry and ate the banh mi by the entrance. There doesn't seem to be a good place for them to have seating, so I can't imagine that will change anytime soon. Overall, if I ever find myself in the area again I will definitely be trying to come back!

That's maybe because the employee (shirt dark hair) that was rude before isn't there this time around so it was pleasantly an easy transaction. All other ladies here are nice. This time around was a better experience. Not busy, and we got everything we needed. Quick and fast. Pricing was surprisingly REASONABLE. Everything looked good in presentation imo and the food tasted great. Hoping to have a more better experience from here on out.

The cream puff custard is smooth and not too sweet. I am glad it is not whipped cream filling. The puff shell is simple and elegant not crunchy or stale (like some other places). They sell by 75 cents each which is good. Parking a little tight but if you go on weekday it's not too bad. The lady who greeted me wasn't too friendly she literally started me down and looked like she just wanted to rush me out. Also guys they take cash only but if card use they charge $1 fee. So she took my order and went next door to charge my card but I didn't know next door was a coffee place guess they link together. Funny thing was she didn't smile and the man who came after me she greeted him with a smile because they are of the same ethnicity. Language wasn't an issue here but to stare at customer like that I'm not coming back there ever again. Even though the cream puffs were so good very soft and not too sweet. I always go by first experience and impression. I will be looking forward other bakery's in Garden Grove.
