Horrible. Manager passively aggressively texts you at all times of morning saying the maids can't handle cleaning up a little glitter. Honey, you're a maid, you clean up kid vomit and all sorts of nasty stains on beds and you're complaining to the manager who somehow has the audacity to complain to me about a little glitter? Do your freaking job and don't whine about it like a little girl. Manager is also never in office (I checked, many times) and texts you 15 times when you arrive to get your check in time to the minute because he doesn't want to hire help (too cheap) and wants to know the exact 5 minutes he'll have to be at the front desk. Bugs in room, scorpions and cockroaches. Disgusting, dated hotel. Not dated in the cute, vintage way. Manager will try to be nice and go out of your way at first if you act nice but it's all a ruse, none of it is sincere, and he wants nothing more to see you gone and never see you again. Noise is a problem too, all you hear is the main road, it's right off it, good luck getting any peace or sleep. Terrible beds. Worst motel I've stayed at in years and I travel frequently- you'll find many in third world countries that are nicer. Literally save yourself and book ANYWHERE else. read more

My honey surprised me and brought me here for my birthday. It's easy to see from the road and they maintain the grounds very well. All of the cabins have icicle lights that are a nice touch. There is also plenty of parking and the parkingnlot is spacious. The cabin that we stayed in was quite small but cozy. The pros The heater worked great and keeps every part of the cabin warm. There is a mini kitchen with a nice size stove and sink The bed was comfortable Rooms are clean for the most part Water pressure in the shower was good The person at the desk was friendly The cons You can hear everything your neighbors are saying and seeing on tv. We had noisy neighbors who had on loud music and heard their conversations. The TV in the room is really small The sofa was not comfortable. It was pretty hard. Loved this place! Our cabin was cozy but spacious. Staff went above and beyond. They allowed us to check in early and we had our drive way and walk way shoveled every morning. They have a huge area for kids to play in the snow. The Pho restaurant on site was delicious, I recommend trying the chow mein or pad Thai. Will definitely be staying here again! read more

This place is SO dirty. The bathtub was so absolutely disgusting that I had to go to the store and bleach and a scrub brush just so I could bathe my children. I'm not kidding you, there's years of soap scum packed onto the bathtub. It's so gross. I spent 90 scrubbing only to remove a 12 inch space of scum. I'm pretty sure it has never properly been cleaned. The floor is disgusting, the area rug is stained with black spots that come off easily with a simple wipe with a wet wipe. I'm pretty sure it has never been cleaned. The table has a thick layer of dust and caked on food and one of the legs were broken so it was dangerous for my toddlers to be around. Someone covered stains on the wall with darker paint so they look really bad, the bathroom floor is worse than the bathtub and I found food in the bed sheets. I knew the place would be dated and "rustic" but the filth was revolting. I now understand the "no cancellation" policy. The blonde lady working was very sweet and she and her husband were great. To add: I was texted before check in and asked to text a picture of my credit card and I'd so I could get the keyless code. I paid in advance so I don't understand why they needed a PICTURE of my card. I called them and told them I was not comfortable with it and the lady tried to talk me into it so I told her I would just send a picture with the number covered except for the last four digits. It seemed very unprofessional. The place has potential but someone really needs to clean the places, paint the walls and fix all of the broken things that are dangerous for kids. I was not too excited staying here this past weekend. I guess I've been blessed with staying closer to the Village years before and stayed in more open floor plans. This place was small and cozy but I didn't like all the rooms being separate for it being a one room. The heater was located in the center of the cabin but it took forever to reach the bathroom. It was pretty cold getting out of the shower that night. We ended up finding a major leak under the sink located in the bathroom. We did advise the manager of the leak and they let us know they'd look at it after we checked out. Well, come 9pm, we're already in bed, we hear a knock on the door. It totally freaked me out because we weren't expecting anyone. I told my friend to check who it was and as he started to head to the door, I could hear the key turning and someone opening to come in. Nearly scared the crap out of me! It ended up being the plumber. He thought we were out and he was going to fix the leak then and there. Very bad communication between the manager and plumber. I have neck pains from the tv being so damn high up on the wall and the sofa being so close to it. The coffee pot was filthy so none for this coffee lover. This place definitely needs some upgrades. What did I like? - each apartment is fully furnished and comes with 2 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom. It's been remodeled recently which is nice - the kitchen has a refrigerator, a gas stove and oven, microwave, and all utensils, bowls, plates, cups, and pots/pans - the living room has 2 small comfortable couches which can covert to a futon - keypad for entrance making it convenient and keyless - the upstair rooms have A/C which was a saving grace since it was 85 degrees when we were visiting - Angela (I believe the owner?) was great at picking up the phone or calling you right back to answer any questions before or during your stay - free parking - right on Big Bear Blvd which is convenient (close to CVS, Big K, Vons and Staters Bros.) to get to town and attractions - 2 tables outside with 4 bbq grills (make sure to bring your own charcoal and lighter) The two negatives were: - it's on the main road so you can hear the cars passing from the bedroom (it helps to bring a white noise machine or having the ceiling fan running) - the bathroom was remodeled but the bathtub needs to be replaced as it is peeling and looks old) All in all, we would definitely stay here again! It's a great option for families with kids or those who want more of a homey vibe rather than a hotel vibe. read more

Horrible service!!!! My wife and I booked a room online yesterday morning around 11am. We live over 2 hours away from Big Bear and started making the trip up around 4pm. We arrived around 6:30pm to check into our room and were told by the rep "Andrew" that our room had been double booked and that he had messaged us earlier about it. My wife check and the earlier time was 15 minutes before we arrived!!! He told us we didn't have a room and that it's not his fault because he "let us know"!!! He had almost 7 hours to let us know and he told us 15 minutes before we tried to check in. We asked if they had another room and he said yeah but it's more and it's "overkill for us"???? Whatever that means. I then asked to match the price of the room we already booked and he denied saying he told us about the room before we arrived and that it's not his fault. I was frustrated about his entire attitude towards the situation and he walked off and denied us service. Never knew it was this hard to spend $500 at this location. Will never recommend this place and you need to hire better people to run your business!!!! read more

Cabin #20 There are Christmas lights on the cabins. That are evidently used for "porch lights" Ones on our cabin don't work. The rest are on timer not on all night. The Toilet seat was loose we fixed it. The Bathroom has no working space. Pedestal sink, and tiny rolling 3 shelf cart. No hair dryer. Yet holder on wall. Shower is very tiny. 2 queen beds in this 2 bedroom Un attached cabin. Bedding was clean and comfortable. Pillows are worn out and flat. Beds are VERY firm. One bedroom is up one step. It looks like an addition. Great pictures on the wall. Nice log headboard, and built platform. Built in with 2drawers and a cubbard roped shut. So it stays closed. Above it is a table top with lamp. And mirror behind it. A small closet with a couple hangars, couple books, and a blanket. There is an end table in the other corner of the room. The Other bedroom has a queen bed as well with a nice headboard and platform. An end table with a lamp on it. All power outlets in cabin are very old and loose. Kitchen comes with a gas stove/oven. Microwave. House refrigerator/freezer. Has ice maker in it. But not plumed. Coffee maker. You can cook here! There are a couple pots, strainer, muffin tin. Oven mitt, cutting board. Ice trays. Didn't find pans for oven. There are bowls, plates, glasses, wine glasses, coffee mugs. Silverware, a few cooking utensils. A very nice knife block on counter. Microwave is on top of a 3 shelf cart which worked perfectly for our pantry foods. Kitchen table is pretty marred up. We thought it was dirty at first. One couch feels like it's a sleeper. It's covered with a red blanket. Other couch had 2 decrotive pillows. There is a coffee table in front of it. And behind it on the wall a great mural of a mama bear and 2 babies leaving a cabin in the woods. There is an end table next to the couch with a lamp on it. The family room light above is awesome! A tree, leaf, bear decor. The Fireplace has fire place screen, log wrack that's seen better days. Looks melted. There is a wall heater that worked very well. And a window a/c that we never used. They had a pool on the property that had a few feet of water in it but obviously closed. Also a large permanent tent that kids were rough housing and skating in and biking in. For Checkin and checkout we had to find staff. They were Not in office. All and all a great place for a reasonable price. We would stay there again.. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!This place is cute but a horrible place to stay. I always read the reviews but always give places the benefit of the doubt. Well huge mistake on this place. My husband and I booked a 2 bedroom suite for us and our kids first of all they lied about the size of the beds it said 2 queens and it was a queen and a full the beds had stains on them I called the front desk and complained about it they brought me new sheets for me to change the sheets on the bed my husband went to the kitchen sat on the table and realized the table matts were dirty and still had some sticky stuff from whoever stayed before us i called to let them know and asked them how good they cleaned the room before we got there because both beds and now the kitchen table where dirty ( we are living in a pandemic and they should really take their customers serious and clean the cabins when they are unoccupied before the next guest get there but they show they really don't care) the manager got mad and told us she could cancel and give us our money back but we had no where else to go everything was booked so they had someone go in and cleaned i had walked to over to the office to talk to them about it and they said the last time that placed was used was a week before we got there wow really! It sure didn't seem like it they didn't offer any other discount for our inconvenience or having to leave the place for them to "clean" it again we had gone right next door cause my brother in law and his family were staying there as well and they pretty much just wiped down the table matts and changed the sheets My in-laws had them change their sheets as well they were dirty too read more

do NOT stay here. Let me just preface this by saying that I do not write reviews ever. When you check in, you receive a text that says 10pm is quiet time - great. Until you realize that the walls are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING. First night, some people were partying and we got no sleep, so we complained the next day and they told us they took care of it. Next night, at 11pm, families gathered outside by a swing set that was right under our window and kids screamed and threw snowballs. It's great they are having fun don't get me wrong, but the fact that we could literally hear everything going on was not fun for us. You can hear if someone coughs in the next room, or if their TV is on. Second, randomly one morning and 7:30 am, our hotel door opens. Luckily we had the door locked from the inside, but WHAT?! Come to find out it's the cleaning crew. No knock, nothing. They did that to all the other rooms too because guess what? We could hear it. It's decently clean, bed was comfortable, heaters inside room are very loud. There's much better places to stay in BB. read more

Yikes. Creepy vibes all around. We felt like we were being watched the whole time we were there. We stayed here this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary and engagement. While we still had fun, this place definitely does not inspire romance. When I had originally booked a few months back I had called to specifically check that I had booked one of the cabins with a hot tub. When we checked in I also confirmed that the hot tub was on and working and the lady at the front desk assured me it was. Right after we got onto the cabin I popped around back and dipped my hand in the hot tub. It was hot and seemed to be in working order. All good. Skip to a few hours later. I go to take a shower before dinner and there's no hot water. My fiancé goes to find someone to help and lo and behold the front desk girl and a guy were creeping around the back of our cabin "checking on" the hot tub. They told him that the hot tub was broken and would not be in working order for us. OK. Weird. The shower situation was fixed by re-lighting the pilot light (which apparently goes out often). There were no blinds in the living room section of the cabin and broken blinds in the kitchen leaving us awkwardly exposed to the parking lot and all of the other cabins. The couch had gross white and dark stains. The floor was dirty and obviously not swept. All in all, this place could be so cute and cozy, but it just feels like they don't really care about cleanliness or privacy. Also, a $50 cleaning fee for a hotel is ridiculous when you're asking guests to do their own dishes. We paid over $300 for one very unsettling night. read more

Pleasant stay! Stayed in a studio. No kitchenette and shared wall with neighbors but overall stellar experience. Fair pricing. We got a living room area with a twin bed and a larger room with a mini fridge and sink. The bathroom was a good size and clean. Patio area has seating area. Upon arrival, the AC was kindly left on for us (which was a giant plus on these summer days). Located across from a small market for all the late night snack needs. Due to a third party booking mixup, we were reserved for one of the hotel rooms above the main office when we were expecting a cabin with a kitchen. They were understandably sold out but unfriendly about the mixup. We were not satisfied with the room for the price we paid and were extremely inconvenienced with no elevator and having to cook our meals in the parking lot. Was given a dirty used sponge and told to wash my own dishes in the bathroom sink. Not sure who used the sponge before me. I was contacted and harrassed about my main review via text message. I am so glad that we did not pay attention to the negative reviews. This cabin blew us away. We paid 345 for four days and three nights here. The resort has a playground right across from cabin number 10. It has a small Koi pond in front of the office. Inside the office is a convenient store that has every wine, beer and alcohol imaginable. The refrigerator is a great size for a week worth of food. There are pans and pots under the sink as well as sponges and cleaning supplies. They even have aluminum foil and lighters for you. Inside the cabinet above the sink are the wine glasses, coffee cups, plates and bowls. We went in July and it was about 97° during the day and about 45° at night. The cabin would get a little warm around 1 PM to 3 PM but then would get cold pretty quickly. The staff woman at the front was very helpful with any questions we had and the maintenance guy was awesome. This resort is located in an amazing spot. There is a Mexican cantina called the Aztec which plays live music every night. But you can't hear it from your hotel room. There is also an amazing bakery right across the street called sister and sister. You have to try them out if you're looking for a delicious dessert. Our family enjoyed barbecuing every night at the grill in front of our cabin. They also have picnic tables that are clean and splinter free all around the property. Fun things for the kids are the alpine slides which is just a minute drive away. Big bear village is a good 4 to 5 minute drive in a car. Overall I give this place a five stars. The only thing that I disliked about cabin number 10 was the fold out sofa bed in the living room. It was very uncomfortable to sleep on. Oh and another thing that drove me nuts was the really really really tiny TV above the fireplace. Yes they advertise that they have cable but they only have about 10 channels that you get for free. All the other cable channels they are not subscribe to. My recommendation is to bring your own Amazon TV stick or a box and hook it up to the TV. The TV also has a built-in DVD player on the side of it. There is also no TV upstairs just beds and a bathroom. read more

Upon check in the windows were all open in the cabin. It smelled like vomit, that was why. The floor tile was so filthy it made a clean pair of socks turn black in about 10 minutes. (see photo) The carpet looks like it was from the 80's and was gross, dirty also. The silverware in the kitchen looked like it was put away used. The kitchen counter was also filthy, wiped it down with a damp towel and it was almost black. The couch (futon) was horrible and filthy as well. Lifted up the seat on the toilet and the bottom was stained and sides of the bowl were stained with (you can guess) Overall it was one of the worst rooms I've ever been inside in my life. No where to even sit comfortably in the entire place. Tried to complain but the office was locked up that evening and in the morning as well. This room was over $400 for 1 night plus a $16 "resort fee" i would think for that money it would have been nicer. Don't stay here if you want a clean room. We stayed in cabin #23. Very dark, lamps in bedroom only and one very dim ceiling light in main room. No directions for the tv, so we couldn't watch anything. Beds are okay, but very noisy...squeaks! No full length mirror, towels are small and thin. Outside needs a lot of TLC...paint peeling everywhere, the pool & hot tub weren't open & there were storage containers blocking some views. The cabin was cozy and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen came with cutlery and silverware. The air conditioning, heat, and fireplace was great. The WI-FI didn't work though and the pool and hot tub was completely drained (I was really looking forward to using them). Also, many channels on the TV were unavailable so I had to scroll through them to figure out which ones we had access to and which ones we didn't (most channels are unavailable). It would help if they provided a list of channels we had access to. Overall it was a nice experience though. read more

I called Friday and spoke with staff to ask questions about accommodations, I was assured and told that I pay when I arrive I was given the total. Hmmm on the next day I get an email stating that my reservation was cancelled due to payment issues. I was told that it was cancelled because of a lot of ppl book but don't show up. Here's my problem why not call or email me stating that I need to pay now, bc I was told to pay when I get there. I even asked about a deposit and the guy said there wasn't a deposit. I tried to rebook and the prices spiked up, I had booked 1/8/21 and they wait til 1/23 to cancel. Smh Overall shitty communication. I'm glad me and my family didn't actually stay here, I could only imagine the unprofessional behavior we would have endured. read more

This place is being fixed up and we were not happy staying here as the main road was 25 feet away from our very warm room and the noise level was too much. Our air conditioner wasn't worth a thing as we had a hot room and even though we left it on all day with fans on and everything closed up, it was too warm in this room. We both had a rough time sleeping as the warmth and road noise was too much. The bed had a piece of 4 inch foam on the bed that was indented all night long and although nice at first, sucked by the middle of the night. The 30 year old red towels and no bath mat was a disappointment and a half roll of TP with no extra for a 2 day stay was unacceptable. We paid a premium for a terrible room and I will not go back, until they finish upgrades and can prove that my money is well spent or I'll go elsewhere. It makes me mad when a place advertises a beautiful place and it isn't even close to what they say! Don't stay here until they get it together! There are plenty of other places for less and in much better shape. I should have stayed at a motel 6, what a shame. read more

I booked this hotel two days ago and tried to cancel because we were exposed to COVID and did not want to potentially infect staff and guests. The owner Justin was extremely rude and unwilling to cancel our $500 reservation for one night. He stated it was our fault for booking a hotel during a pandemic. He was completely rude and unreasonable and I would not support someone willing to take advantage of innocent people and risk the health of their guest. Why would anyone want people exposed to come to their Hotel or hurt big bear? He was so rude and argumentative did not even offer a credit or a change in stay. The cabin was DIRTY and uncleaned. That is the reason why we inquired about cancelling. They were very rude to us while we were speaking to them. On that same night after we had checked in I found out that one of my best friends had died in a car accident due to a DUI driver crashing into them. & for them to be so insincere as to tell me that that was not true tells a lot about the business and the people who run it. WARNING WARNING. do NOT stay here. Lies is all I get after 4 phone calls, do I have to eat it on a broken room ?. UPDATE 10/15 the lies get even worse ( they responded to Hotels.com) We ( Hotels.com) have received an email response from Bear Creek Resort and they advised that you broke the spa ( we pushed the heat button, the front desk already told me they dont work all the time) , door ( its a digital dead bolt that kept pushing out and sticking), tv Cable( how does one break cable service? ) , and chairs ( solid tree trunk bench arm rest dislocated even a bear couldnt break it) . Due to this, they denied your request for a refund. ................... The last story they told me today is the manager is on vacation and they dont know when she will be back ! did someone bury her in the back??? but this morning they said she just left the office and will be right back, I've called sat, sun,mon and today with all diffrent storys. We come back from town after a nice nite out, looking forward to our special jaccuzi room..... the jaccuzi was broken,barely luke warm barely and it never got any warmer at all, so now were freezing,bummer,oh well we'll just take hot showers,the SHOWER IS BROKEN, dial just keeps spinning around with either BLISTER SCALDING HOT or ICE FREEZING COLD,so cant use, now were realllllly cold...oh and it GETS EVEN MORE HORRIBLE, the front door lock is STUCK , the deadbolt will NOT OPEN were locked in our room now all nite, hope there isnt A FIRE AND WE DIE because we cant get out, so I gently pry open the dead bolt get things from my car and the dead bolt NOW IS STUCK OPEN,wont go in we have to sleep all night with the front door open and ajar with the couch moved in front of it so vagrants dont try to stab us in our sleep. yup no sleep for us, it was 30 degrees and freezing. the front porch bench desided to crash on us also.... comical huh? I told all these things to the front desk and Bear Creek REFUSE'S to talk to me about any of it. WOW Bear CROOK Resort is more like it. I reported the door lock to Captain Jeff Willis Big Bear Fire dept. dont expect to get a refund on your stay if they get shut down, like me your out of luck. read more

Found this place on line just wanting to take my family of 8 up to Big Bear @ last second. Cozy cabin within walking distance to convenience store and bakery and a 7 min drive to snow summit. Friendly service. Nice rooms. My kids played football and built snowmen just outside our cabin. The fireplace was running all day and night!! It was so nice that we book a extra night!! The owner of the resort gave my kids a sled and mention a great place to take the kids sledding down the street for free!! read more

Stayed in Cabin 15 for one night. Loved this cabin because it was away from all the other cabins (no shared walls) and we had a private jacuzzi. We got lucky and were able to check in early and staff seemed nice. Only negative I would say is the bed was awful. It sunk in the middle so we did not sleep well at all. I was shocked to see so many horrible reviews on Yelp so maybe we got lucky with our experience. Maybe because we had a solo cabin that helped with privacy and noise. I would come back for cabin 15 but only if there is a new bed. Place was located right across from Aztec Mexican restaurant which was delicious and Big Bear Mountain Brewery was next door. Two must go to places when you visit. read more

These cabins are cute little rentals in Big Bear Lake with easy access to the town and the lake and a couple of some smaller ski areas on the south side of the lake. The studio rentals are quite tiny with 3 rooms: a bedroom that looks directly into the kitchen and bathroom. We enjoyed our fireplace quite a bit - we had a pretty steady fire going all day, but the fireplace is very small so there is only a limited amount of heat it could possibly put out. We had to supplement our heat from the fireplace with the small heater they provided, which was basically a gas range heating up metal rods; it looked like it came directly from the 1950s, but functioned fine. Kitchen had enough storage for us. Bathroom was small; no counters to mention whatsoever, and the shower was tiny (you could stand up and not move all too much) but my real complaint here is the lack of a light in or into the shower. The shower curtain also wasn't good - no matter how I placed it, it wouldn't cover the entire opening and water got everywhere. The bed was comfortable, the single chair was not... REPLACE THE CHAIRS! I swear the cushion in it must have been 30 years old and needed replacement - it felt like there was no cushion at all. Wifi worked fine as did the television. Pool was closed as we went in the winter. Staff was friendly. Overall, 2.5 stars, so rounding up to 3. read more
