We stayed at Edgewood Mansion for my 40th birthday during New Years Eve. My husband planned the…read moretrip to include my closest girlfriends and their families. From the beginning to the end we had the best experience. The mansion has so much history, is perfect to accommodate multiple families with en suites, huge kitchen, many places to relax, and plenty to do. We had kids from ages 4 to 10. We thought we would run out of things for them to do. Not at all. The mansion is so huge, they had plenty of room to stretch out, the hills on the property provided for fun sledding and snowman building. The adults were either at the sauna, jacuzzi, kitchen, outside in the snow walking the 2 acres of property or just relaxing in one of the many comfy nooks. I highly recommend Edgewood Mansion for any type of event whether it's a birthday trip, family reunion, corporate retreat or any other purpose where you want to feel like you're at home, or provided for like a Queen. The location which is located higher up in the mountains is away from the traffic. The accommodations are immaculate and the concierge services provided by Chantal who was available to us 24/7 before we got there and during, was spot on. We catered instead of cooking which was so much easier on everyone so we could enjoy each other's company versus cooking. Chantal gave us choices and she had Mexican food delivered one night, Italian catered another and on New Years Eve we had a personal chef, Mike who is a master chef create the most delicious surf and turf dinner. We had piles of Alaskan king crab legs and the freshest, tastiest filet. Everything was provided. This was an amazing trip because of where we stayed, the owner Laura who was so accommodating and Chantal who was so helpful. Our friends have not stopped thanking us for coordinating this trip. We all got to spend time together with the kids together and not feeling overwhelmed because everything was at our fingertips. Thank you to Laura, Chantal, Irvin and the maintenance crew, Sherri our housekeeper and the magical Edgewood Mansion.

Laura, the owner, does a fantastic job of welcoming you, walking you through the sometimes labyrinthine maze of rooms, and welcoming you to a piece of history. As we travelled during Covid19, the property felt safe, clean and secure and we had no concerns about our health or safety. Highly recommend for people hosting special gatherings, parties, family vacations or special events. Definitely worth it.

The scenery is out of this world, the owners and staff are so friendly and accommodating, the grounds are immaculate, and everywhere is so comfortable/clean. It is a quick drive into town for shopping or activities if you come up for vacation. Plenty of air bnbs in the area as well for overflow guests. From the moment we booked, Frankie (the owner) was an absolute dream to work with. She was incredibly accommodating, thoughtful, and always willing to help with anything we needed. Her responsiveness and genuine care made the planning process enjoyable and stress-free, and it truly felt like she wanted our weekend to be as special as we did. The property itself is stunning and offered everything we could have hoped for and more. Our family and guests who stayed on-site loved the peaceful setting, beautiful scenery, and the many cozy gathering spots throughout the ranch. The entire process is seamless and the team is so pleasant to work with, especially Ally. Ally truly goes above and beyond. She's incredibly informative, thoughtful, and makes sure you have all the intel you need before your trip. She even shared helpful local resources like bensweather.com for updates from their local meteorologist and pointed me to where to check road conditions, then followed up with an email including everything to make it easy. She also gave the best cabin recommendations tailored to what we were looking for. You can just tell she genuinely loves helping people. She makes you feel less like a customer and more like family. It feels as though a chic, mid-century modern salon collided beautifully with a high-toned, rustic American West outpost. The architecture honors the soaring terrain of Big Bear, using clean, geometric lines that trace the slope of the mountains, while the interior hums with a quiet, bespoke luxury. Smooth, high-end finishes--polished walnut and rich leathers--marry flawlessly with the coarse honesty of native stone. The crown jewel of this alpine sanctuary is its sublime wellness experience, an immaculate haven for the body and spirit. Here, the contrast therapy is poetic magic. You can purge the high-altitude chill in the deep, enveloping heat of the saunas, or melt into the bubbling, starry embrace of the outdoor hot tub. For the ultimate awakening, the shock of the pristine cold plunge cuts through fatigue like mountain air, shocking the senses into absolute, vibrant life. Steps away, the sparkling pool acts as a gateway to the elements. For those who hear the siren call of open water, the seamless transition from resort luxury to an open swim across the vast, pristine lake is utterly liberating. Through it all, the views are a visual symphony--the lake stretching out like hammered silver, cradled by a dark fortress of pines. The staff embodies the very spirit of the altitude: completely chill, attentive, and entirely devoid of pretension. From the crackle of the lakeside fire pits to the curated aesthetics, the vibes are flawless, offering an elevated, restorative sanctuary in the sky.

Even if it was intended to be a joke, it was extremely inappropriate and derogatory. When we finally entered the assigned room, a cockroach was running across the floor and disappeared into the wall within seconds of us opening the door. We immediately called the front desk to report this and requested another room, but were told none were available because they were sold out. So, we attempted to give the room one last chance, but within minutes of us starting to put our stuff away, my husband opened the mini refrigerator, and two additional cockroaches ran out from behind it. At that point, we determined the room did not meet basic standards of cleanliness, sanitation, or habitability and decided to immediately leave the property. We turned our keys in and did not end up staying the night. What was most disappointing was not only the condition of the room, but also the lack of any sort of response or acknowledgment from the hotel afterward. I finally managed to speak with Bridget at the front desk about two weeks after trying to get ahold of them, and she was incredibly rude, insensitive, and was flat-out disrespectful to me over the phone. This is the exact kind of service you're going to expect if you stay here. I would not stay here ever again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

We loved the nature hike we had "Jelly" (a couple of our groups got rained out-obviously to no fault of the camp), we enjoyed archery, paint ball sling shots with "Stitch", painting wood necklaces, drama circle, and an amphitheater with breathtaking views of the the sunset. We loved our hike to the lake for canoeing. I too thought the pool was chilly but it was clean! Their swim rules seemed to be really intense to me. "No jumping off the edge of the pool" hmmm ok. In my opinion overly cautious. However, the Rock wall was a blast, equipment was in good condition. Hatchet throwing was hard, but fun. I wish the hatchets were sharp enough to grab the wood. It was rare anyone stuck one into the log rounds. Some combination of wood being too hard or axes not balanced correctly made that activity a struggle. We enjoyed trying. The team building activities were thoughtful and stretched our girls as individuals and forced team unity. Maybe my favorite part of all of camp. They lost a star for food quality and portions but the staff was always in good spirit. I also wish our group had the entire cafeteria to ourselves as we often were low on space at tables and often went outside as our designated seating was full. But the food was served on time and they got a lot of people food in timely fashion. They were organized. Our cabins were dry when it rained and i felt safe from the elements and wildlife that can live nearby. Some mattresses were thicker than others. I was comfortable enough for a week of camping. The plumbing struggled at times but not sure that was the camps fault or the 85 GIRLS who MAY have not disposed of things properly. Lol Overall I think with some retraining on camp cooking and a minor tweak here and there this would be a 5 star camp. The location was beautiful. The staff was friendly. The activities were super fun!
