My husband and I were married here in Nov 15th 2007! Bear Creek was just in its early stages. Now they have, not just a chapel cottages and lodge! Many more cabins, a winery and brewery! If your on a motorcycle Do Not. I repeat DO NOT ride here. It's large loose gravel. Also if your have mobility issues this is not the place for you. We had booked one of the cottages for our last two nights of a motorcycle camping adventure so we could try the wines and beer and have a comfy bed before the long ride back to Florida Now the place is beautiful the staff were very friendly but they were low on stock so no wine tasting ( the whole reason to come here) The parking for the cottage is horrible. More loose gravel and then weird steps to hill climb to two story stairs Luggage gets heavy quick. The walk to the main building was a hike No clear path and over a chain .. we booked for two nights but I couldn't handle the terrain with my back and no wine so we decided to cut our loses and leave It's a beautiful place to visit for the day in a car if you don't need a wheelchair but call first they might be out of wine Very expensive lesson learned read more

We stayed here for two nights and I was so impressed! It was really beautiful, and SO clean! The photos online don't do it justice. I love the private hot tub included with each room, and the breakfast provided was so good. I wish we'd had more time to enjoy the winery and tasting room and try the pizza, but the breakfast pizza we had on Sunday was awesome! We will definitely go back. The venue: absolutely gorgeous! The employees: very disappointing. I came here on a whim, bringing my pup as I do every winery I can possibly find! Before bringing the pup inside I asked an employee if dogs were allowed and she said no problem. I went to grab my pup and came back inside. Another woman angrily came out of the kitchen, aggressively telling me that I was inconsiderate to come into a place we're food was made with an animal. I awkwardly stated that someone had told me dogs were allowed and she just said "nope, they aren't". It was really embarrassing and I sheepishly went outside red faced... I didn't even want to go back inside but my friend and I had driven for a bit to get here and the view was gorgeous, so he went in and ordered and took pictures for me as I waited outside awkwardly with my pup. I didn't get to do a wine tasting which was sort of the whole point of coming. I would love to get married and stay in the cabins here as it was picture perfect, as long as I didn't have to deal with that rudeness again.. read more

Not very impressed! The Wedding we attended and the price that was paid for it was too high. The day before the wedding we were allowed to purchase bottles of wine and share them with our group. The day of the wedding and family came in we wanted to share a bottle of wine but we could only Purchase plastic cups at over seven dollars a cup which made it outrageous for us to afford. They would only sell us a bottle if we took it with us! As we were cleaning up the lady that came in was not very nice. And during the wedding they continue to allow visitors come and taste their wine and sit out in the foyer so I wasn't really too private. read more

I would give zero if that was an option. We had our wedding there in 2011 before they were on yelp so her goes. The owner is horrible, has no people skills and does nothing to help. The day of our wedding there were not any quests that were outside of the wedding but yet we couldn't go into the lodge for pictures during the rain. There was not any instructions for the day of the wedding. Fast forward 4+ years we thought we would go stay for my husband's birthday weekend January 16ish so I call. Get a very nice lady on the phone but says the owner is going to be closed that week for maintenance. Then she verified with the owner, which I could hear in the back ground saying she doesn't know when she is going to it but would be best to just wait until February!. Really! No thank you! Terrible!!! Very uncooperative and uncommunicative staff. Unprofessional. You can't get a refund after your deposit so we were stuck with them for our wedding and it just got worse and worse. When we tried to get our service dog accommodated for the ceremony by asking that their wandering cats be put inside they contacted their attorney and got really upset. We were told that they had no control over the "wildlife" and that the neighbor's "coon dogs" wander on property all the time. Not cool, even if we didn't have a service dog. A week before the wedding they offered us a refund because they didn't want the liability. We took it but had to scramble to make last minute arrangements. They would not refund our guests who were staying there. read more

Will not give us our deposit back even though we had to cancel our reservation has a result of the Covid-19 epidemic. They claim they are a small business and they can't afford to loose the income. We have stayed twice and neither time we were overly impressed. The location is amazing and the rooms are all very interesting. Breakfast has always been delicious. Honestly the problem is the owner. She is hard to interact with. She seems put off to have to be helping. It feels like she is annoyed to have people around. Not a fan of the way she talks to her husband and the other staff that work there. I have had much better bed and breakfast experiences. The lack of maid service is also one of the more unique things about this property. read more

I'll start with the positives..there are fewer of them. The setting is gorgeous. The deck that overlooks the valley is stunning. Now for the negatives: 1. Poorly-laid out main area. There is only (1) "register" which, apparently, is just a lap top with a calculator; 2. The tastings are conducted at previous, said-"register", thereby creating unnecessary congestion of trying to get people both in, and out, at the same time; 3. poorly-staffed. There were (2) young people in plain sight when we arrived. The place was packed, eventually, and things were south, more so, even, at this time; 4. It took over ONE HOUR to get our check resolved, and my husband had to actually CALL THE WINERY and get someone out to take care of our check. 5. Wine...barely considered decent. The Norton was NOT a quality wine. The Chambourcin was tolerable. We gave the remainder of the bottle that we had opened to the rowdy group of 20 somethings who had arrived, and subsequently, taken over the deck. I would NOT recommend this as a place that "one must see." Again, poorly-staffed, poor layout, and only mediocre, at best, wines. One dissatisfied customer read more

This venue went in breach of contract 45 days out from our wedding, forcing us to find another venue. I work in customer service, and if I ran my business after their model, I wouldn't have a business. I read a few negative reviews on yelp about this bed and breakfast, but decided to give it a shot despite. Well, here I am, two months away from my wedding, and I would say the ONLY stress I've had this entire process has been caused by the venue and it's less-than-professional customer service. Rebecca, the owner, is not customer service oriented whatsoever. She treats you as though she's doing you a favor and NOT like you are a paying customer. She is bossy and pushy and not flexible. She does not do anything to make you feel like a bride. Make no mistake, I am not a bridezilla. I am not expecting anyone to trip over me in service because I am getting married. I do, however, expect to be treated important and like a paying customer when I have freely handed over $3,000 to a business and booked up it's entire resort with friends and family for my event. I will give a few examples. Anytime I have called I have said "hi, this is First AND Last name." I was calling with a few questions about our wedding. I was..." Queue abrupt interruption: "WHAT DAY IS YOUR WEDDING!?" I understand they can't possibly remember all of their brides, but can they at least remember their manners? They act as though you are burdening them with questions. I know why Rebecca feels entitled to treat her clients the way she does because she stated it several times: "We do it this way because we are the most reasonably priced wedding venue in the area." Even if you are, that does not entitle you to be rude. Another example. When I booked my package with Rebecca, I told her we were inviting 75 people, but didn't know if all of them would RSVP. SHE said "Oh, well, they won't all come. I would recommend the Happily Ever After Package." The happily ever after package is only for 50 people, but she told me that we would pay $25 per head over 50. I thought that was reasonable. She wrote on the contract "$25/ head" and again, when my fiancee signed the contract he wrote in the balance due section "$1,270 + $25/ head TBA." I assume there wasn't an issue with that because she cashed our check- no questions asked. Side note: I e mailed the B&B asking to please let us know when our deposit arrived (when you send $1300 in the mail, it's nice to know it goes where it's supposed to), we never heard a thing. Not a single word. We finally saw the check was cashed and so we obviously knew it had made it there. Back to the $25/head fiasco. Rebecca, upon my last visit with her, insisted we needed to pay $50/ head over 50 people. When I said "I thought you told us $25..." She cut me off and started in on how it isn't fair for her other brides who have 75 guests and have to buy the more expensive package and how she needs to make some money and on and on. I'm not out to rob anyone, but, when my fiance and I picked bear creek, we did so because it fit into our budget. We planned for the $25/head over 50. I don't care what is and isn't fair to other brides. That is not my problem. That is her problem. So I told her "you wrote on the contract $25/ head" and she said "THAT'S BECAUSE YOU SAID IT WOULD BE JUST A FEW OVER FIFTY. WHEN YOU SAID A FEW OVER FIFTY, I THOUGHT FIVE OR SIX. IF WE CAN'T COME TO SOME SORT OF AN AGREEMENT ON THIS, I'LL GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY AND YOU CAN GO ELSEWHERE BECAUSE I WON'T BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF." They made us buy the next package up, continuing to state that they would not take the original $25 a head that we were quoted and signed on in our original contract. When they sent us our new contract, we noticed they not only charged us the next package up, but they also included a price change they had incorporated on all of their packages two months AFTER we signed our original contract. They would not honor the price. We had to negotiate in order to get the price of the original package. Rebecca had the excuse that "prices had gone up because the cost of food had gone up." There are so many other issues we had to deal with from this venue, but there isn't enough room here, so I will end by saying the last email I received from them said "we are an accommodating venue..." Accommodating: -adj- Easy to deal with; eager to help or please: obliging. read more

This is the second year I've stayed here for my anniversary. This year was even better than the last. Very nice accommodations. Last year they hadn't started selling their own wine, but this year we were able to try and purchase some. Very tasty. As is the breakfast they fix. One of the most delicious things I've ever eaten was here: Praline Bacon. My wife wrote a positive review last year on tripadvisor and we plug this place pretty heavily on facebook as well. We had an almost perfect wedding here in 2009. We had snacks and endless coffee. We had a small 6 person total very private wedding. We were left alone and not bothered. That is what we wanted. The husband was great to chat with the wife stayed locked down in the basement (where they live) pictures were rushed and not flattering. I surprised my wife here for a two night getaway. She has always wanted to go to a bed and breakfast but I didn't want to be murdered by a serial killer so I told her I would never go. This place is a good way to have a bed and breakfast and still have privacy. They do have rooms in the lodge but we chose a cabin to our selves. I think people on here are confused, this is not a breakfast in bed, it's a bed and breakfast. We stayed in the creek side cabin and had a great time. The food at breakfast time was incredible. We rented the whole place for the weekend with friends and family for my wedding. Found the place online so I wasn't sure what to expect. Turned out to be more beautiful than I imagined! Rebecca really knows how to decorate! I had the most beautiful wedding I could have asked for. The owners stayed out of our way and gave us our privacy. We loved every bit of it! Not sure where all the bad reviews are coming from, as my husband and I are frequenters of this place who live in Springfield and have never had the kind of negative experience described. It's a stunningly beautiful property and of any bed and breakfast we've been to, it's our favorite. We got married there a few years ago and the wedding went very smoothly and the staff worked well with us. Since our wedding, the owners have continued to improve the property and each time we return to stay they have some kind of new addition that makes it even better. The rooms are clean and well maintained and the breakfast each morning is absolutely wonderful. We were very pleased with each of our stays and will remain repeat customers. We've even enjoyed taking home a bottle of wine with us each time we stay, as the have some really good wines in their new label. read more

My wife and I spent a week at the Bear Creek B&B and could not have been happier. The accommodations are top notch and the grounds are beautiful. The small drive to Branson and the other attractions of the area was perfect, when you return to the lodge after a full day of exploring you feel as if you leave the busy world behind. Then there are the owners Rebecca and Dennis, they made us feel like part of the family. With there easy directions and recommendations of places to see and things to do our visit was as pleasant as could be.
