Great breakfast tacos. Quick service and easy ordering process. Staff was polite and food came quick. This is a staple spot for me now.

Brunch is serious business in Augusta and after one visit to The Brunch House of Augusta I…read morecompletely understand why this place stays packed. While in town for the weekend my husband and I wanted brunch somewhere unique to Augusta instead of another chain restaurant, and after scrolling Yelp and seeing all the glowing reviews we decided to give this Black owned, family operated spot a try. I noticed online that you can make a reservation for a $20 fee that gets deducted from your check. At first I was a little surprised, but after seeing how busy this place is, it makes total sense. We decided to roll the dice without a reservation anyway. When we arrived on a Saturday morning there were already several people waiting outside. There isn't really an indoor waiting area, so the hospitable hostess took my name and phone number and kindly asked us to wait outside. Later I noticed the sign explaining the process. She quoted us a 40-minute wait, but thankfully we were seated in about half that time. Inside, the restaurant is quaint and cozy with a classic diner feel complete with counter seating and booths. The ambiance is casual and welcoming. If you have a larger party, there are a couple of outdoor tables that appear to accommodate around six people, but personally I think this spot is best enjoyed with a smaller group. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and kept everything moving smoothly despite the busy brunch crowd. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles while I went with the Garden City breakfast bowl loaded with veggies and home fries plus a salmon croquette on the side. Every single thing tasted homemade and full of flavor. This is what Southern comfort food is supposed to taste like. My husband said the chicken was seasoned well and fried perfectly, and the waffle paired with it beautifully. My breakfast bowl reminded me of the kind of breakfast my grandma used to make, comforting, flavorful, and cooked with care. Portion sizes were just right,  enough to leave satisfied without feeling miserable afterward. Prices were also very reasonable for the quality of food and service we received. Stellar customer service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. If I ever find myself back in Augusta, this will absolutely be one of my repeat stops.

Yelp nudged us toward New Moon Cafe, and while the signage from the street is minimal enough that we almost walked past it, we eventually found our way inside and were glad we did. At 12:30 on a Saturday the timing worked in our favor. We stepped right up to the counter with no queue at all, placed our order, and settled in. By the time our food arrived about fifteen minutes later, the line had grown to the point where people were waiting nearly that long just to order, which gave the whole place that lively, slightly chaotic weekend energy without ever feeling rushed. Mrs. K chose the smoked salmon bagel, which came out panini pressed, a small twist on a classic that she enjoyed. I am still keeping things keto, so the chef's salad with blue cheese was exactly what I needed, a generous portion that felt balanced and satisfying without pushing me off track. They offer plenty of coffee drinks and smoothie combinations, but we kept things simple and were perfectly happy with our choices. There is outdoor seating if that is your preference, and the whole experience had that relaxed, local charm that makes Augusta lunches feel unhurried even when the dining room is filling up around you. Food: My wife and I ordered the Lamb Chops with Truffle Fries and Collard Greens. The Lamb Chops were delicious, cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. The Collard were tender and well seasoned. The Truffle Fries were served hot and crispy outside and tender potato inside, very tasty. Short Ribs with mashed potatoes. The Short Ribs were fall off the bone tender, juicy with a great tasteful gravy. The Mashed potatoes were cooked perfectly not sure what was all in them however I would definitely get them again and again! Service: Absolutely hands down the best customer service. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and promptly. Our waitress was so sweet and polite also attentive but not pestering. The entire staff came by the table wish us a happy anniversary and at the end of our meal the staff presented us with chocolate cake a courtesy. Ambiance: Classy decor, elegant table setting and comfortable casual lighting perfect for a romantic meal.

My first visit the place was beautifully appointed, we were greeted warmly and sat pretty quickly. Our server was lovely. We started with cocktails which were great. As for our meal the food was just lacking, everything was missing flavor. I ate a couple bites but decided early on that it was a miss for me. On my most recent visit I actually ordered the 6oz. Ribeye with whipped potatoes and asparagus (so I thought and to be fair I could be wrong) but came with broccolini instead. I'm not a fan of broccolini and I'm not sure I would have ordered the meal that included it. In total it took about an hour to receive my food I kid you not. I inquired about it a couple times with the bartender who walked back to the kitchen to check. Each time I was assured it was coming. I was served what can only be called chargrilled hotdog buns as I waited. Maybe not actual hotdog buns but looks and texture wise? Hot dog buns lol. Super charred and dry no butter no olive oil just grilled hot dog buns. So bizarre. I think the bartender forgot to put the order in hence the long wait. When it arrived my ribeye had been butterflied to cook quicker (which I can only assume by the appearance). The steak was cooked perfectly, so no complaints there. The meat wasn't particularly seasoned and look people I'm not expecting the stars and the moon, I was starving and I'm a reasonable person so just a pinch of salt and pepper would have done the trick but for $68 I wanted a better meal. The mashed potatoes were seasoned to perfection so I just ate the under seasoned steak with the perfectly seasoned potatoes and made it work (see totally reasonable lol). And that broccolini? Surprising good so no complaints there. All and all there are just better places to dine. Is the place beautiful? Sure but if I go to a restaurant I want the food to be the star of the show. Not sure I'd try a third time but I'm glad I tried again even if the experience left much to be desired.

We sat outside and were pleased with the location. The location surely had its charms. Relaxing, calming. Perfect environment for some much needed respite. The restaurant is situated on a quaint quiet street, across from some beautiful Charlestown style homes. We both chose Ribeye steaks and boy was I surprised. They were huge! We BOTH got our steaks grilled perfect! I was extremely impressed. I jokingly told the waitress they mush have a boxer working in the back, tenderizing the meat because the steaks were so tender I rarely used the knife. The steaks was incredible, just the right amount of searing, juicy, seasoned just right, and so flavorful. And get this, we received our steaks at the same time, right off the grill so our dishes were both hot. It had been such a long time since I had enjoyed a meal this much. My reservation of going again has absolutely nothing to do with this restaurant. Cost of living is getting high and the cost of a great dinner like at the Annapolitan will cost you. But if you want something special, it is worth it.

Went there today 15 March for my birthday and was truly disappointed…read more The wait for the food was entirely too long, especially when there was only 4 other tables occupied. We arrived 10+ minutes before party of 5 and ordered our food before them and our food arrived at the same time as theirs along with the party of 3 that was there when we arrived. Needless to say my French toast was cold, I sent it back, they wanted to give me an order of French toast that clearly belonged to someone else, because it had caramel and apples and I ordered mine with strawberries. I said no thank you, I was good and didn't want any at all. Midway through my meal the guy brings out the French toast with strawberries, but the kicker is it wasn't freshly made but put in the microwave, because it was soggy. The strawberry compote tasted like it came out of a jar, and the French toast had one strawberry sliced in half on it. I gave 2 stars because the grits were decent and the crab cakes were okay, (to much mustard), they didn't have that Maryland style taste of Old Bay seasoning (I grew up in the area and frequent Lexington Market and restaurants, when I visit there, so I know the taste of good crab cakes). Sincerely very disappointed Mia

Starting with our drinks, we both had coffee-which I would return for the coffee alone! It was bold, curious, mysterious and honestly had me asking for the name of the coffee before I left! We had a server in training, so two servers! Both were outstanding! Quick to refill our drinks and remove plates that were empty. The food.....let me just say I not only spoke with management, I also was able to speak with the head chef to give my praise. I am not one to sing false praise, trust me. When I tell you I have never, ever, had a brunch as delicious as his!!! I am a French toast connoisseur, and his was a 12/10! There was not one bite of food that wasn't outstanding. I was truly impressed, with his creativity and his attention to detail because it shined like a diamond from the front of house all the way down to the sweet lady filling the cakes when I was taking my pictures for this review! "Let me get it all full and pretty now before you get those pictures!" I mean, if she wasn't just the sweetest thing, and took 100% pride in her work. Same with the gentleman working the omelet station. He came in the day before to prep the fish (which is a long day of work!) The love they put into each dish truly shines through effortlessly! With permission, personally, I would suggest they rename their Sunday Brunch to "Soul-filled Sunday Brunch" because #1 I left ready to go to sleep! #2 I had a religious experienced during that meal, in blessings and dining I have only ever had at Church Potlucks! #3 It elevated some fancy and some common foods to such heights, I was expect to be hearing gospel music while I ate! #4 Personally, I hope heaven's banquet table is much like today's-full of love, flavor and most importantly-community! Everyone from other diners enjoying their brunch to servers, sous chefs to the top man himself-not one person wasn't smiling from ear to ear. It's been near a decade since I've seen that many smiling people all in one place! While I will have to limit how often I come for Brunch lest my clothes start shrinking! Edgar's by far, takes the trophy for elevated dining experiences in Augusta, Ga! Best of all, a percentage of all their sales goes back directly into Helms College (located in the same shopping center.) Helms college offers hands-on education in culinary arts, health services, and industrial trades like HVAC/R. Keep up the amazing work, I eagerly look forward to dining with you again!
