This place screams go elsewhere for your big burrito. It's been a minute since I last visited but man this place has lost more than a step. It's obvious the owners are looking for profit on ask the wrong ways to open their second location. They use to have a vast selection of hot sauces and now there is 6 different bottles with 3 being empty sitting sad above the salsa bar.. That's probably not a bad thing as the hot sauces are now off such a poor quality that they are what you would expect out of a dollar tree clearance rack. The salsas are still good but given the quantity of chips in my to go order you won't have anything to dip in them. I had 6 chips.... 6... Why bother if that's all your giving as that's just enough to make you mad. Well that left room for a big burrito right? Nope. This thing was taco bell sized. Easily30-40% smaller than chipotle or diablos. Surely there is quality ingredients right? The chicken in the burrito was dry dry dry over cooked. No big chunks just little hard over cooked over charred pebbles.. match that with either rice that was under cooked or under the heat lamp too long.. Least there wasnt a lot of the filling as the ratio of tortilla was so high that's all you really tasted and ate anyway .. You can't raise prices and make the product smaller and less quality all at the same time. Its well worth driving farther to Diablos or two businesses over to Chipotle. read more

It was delicious and fresh but overpriced imo. $15.40 for a loaded bowl w/ grilled steak. They were def skimping on the ingredients: pico, cucumbers, green onion, cilantro, brown rice, spinach, etc... That cilantro ranch was delicious and added some flavor to my bowl. It also came with chips, which I alternated with my fork. The folks behind the counter were kind and attentive but IDK how they could hear anything! I love surcheros. I always go to the one in Athens, but now that I live near this one, I always go here. They have such good flavors in their food, and it's always been consistent. I visited this newly opened establishment on Wheeler Rd recently and it was the greatest experience ever. The employees were very friendly and patient with me being so indecisive on my first visit here. I have been eating at your restaurant at least twice a week for months, and I always order the same thing. Today, when I asked for my pico in the white cup (as I always receive it), I was told I could not have it that way. I explained that this is how it's always been served to me. The employee then went to get the manager on duty, who proceeded to tell me they don't normally serve it in the white cup. Unfortunately, she was quite rude in how she addressed me. She mentioned there was a language barrier, but there was no barrier when she was telling me "no." If there truly is a barrier, then perhaps that role isn't the best fit. Because of this experience, I will not be returning, and I will also be discouraging others--whom I've previously recommended your restaurant to--from visiting. read more

Apparently a regional chain, this is a build your own bowl, Tex-Mex style. To their credit, they offer a veggie options for all the dishes at a lower price. However, this does mean that it's not heavy on protein. I sampled a salad and a burrito. The salad came on a taco shell, so not quite the health food it seems. I found the topping options modest; there were things that I like but not the variety I've found at some really good build a bowl places lately. As such, I couldn't even get a whole lot of different stuff for my burrito. Their salsas and hot sauces were arguably more numerous, and they had some good looking options at the salsa bar. Both items came with a small side of tortilla chips. I also got a drink, for which the sugar-free option was a tea that was fine. Compared to the really good fast casual places though, I just wasn't that impressed with the selections here. It'll do if you need a quick meal. read more

Now I'm not a big Tex-Mex fan, but I do like a good burrito/burrito bowl. And I always, always love quality ingredients (e.g. fresh, crisp). So when I am in the mood for such Surcheros is my go-to. Now I do want to take a moment and focus on ambiance, for though I always believe it to be a factor here it is a highly obvious one. Their design, from logo to signage, and lighting and color scheme just scream quality. If this were someone's house, you would want to come over for supper anytime they extended a invite. So, with that in mind, consider my usual order; the burrito. Steak, fresh jalapenos (brings the heat!), pico, cheese, and diced cucumbers (to counter aforementioned heat). And tea. Every bite of that burrito is flavorful and full of crunch. I am also very appreciative that they don't skimp on the protein. I need my steak. The tea, whether the berry (strawberry, cherry, apple cider vinegar) or mandarin (orange, cardamon, turmeric), is delicious and will cause you to refill your cup before leaving. I need to start purchasing a jug of either/both when I visit. Love this option to the area and hope they open more locations soon! read more

If I could give less than one star then I would have. Their service was absolutely terrible. Not ONLY did they mix up every burrito we ordered (gave us someone else's order) they wouldn't even agree to reimburse us. They said they would give us one remake because we started eating them... but we only realized when we were already a couple bites into the burrito each. So the management is absolutely terrible and the service is worse never go here EVER! Chipotle is superior anyway lol. Tried this restaurant for the first time today. Around 2pm. Food was fine. Ambiance was kind of plain and cold but that's not so important. The young lady that waited on me acted like I was an inconvenience coming into the restaurant. There were two women. The African American young woman was very pleasant. I greeted the other woman when I approached the counter and she just stared at me. I tried again...nothing. I won't be returning to this business. This is the first time I have ever been to this restaurant. It gives the same look, atmosphere, and set up like Chipotle, Diablo's, or Moe's. I seen the menu and figured to make an appearance due to the fact they had VARIETY of wraps to choose from. I asked the person at the counter, "what do you recommend?" He recommended the burritos so I ordered the Surchero Burrito with Chipotle Wrap with Steak, lettuce, cilantro, pico de Gallo, black beens, cheddar cheese, cilantro rice, and surcheros sauce (chipotle ranch). Then the guy asked, "do you want sour cream or guacamole? We don't charge for one scoop like how Chipotle charges. You can get one scoop of sour cream and guacamole......or two scoops of one and not be charged extra." So I put one scoop of sour cream and guacamole in there as well. The meal was delicious and filling! Ending price still pays as much as any of the chained restaurants but still a great place to order some quality food. read more

Today I tried the chicken bowl with plenty of fresh veggies! The Queso cheese was not hot. I took it back and he fixed me another one with of course the same temperature. Highly highly recommend this place. Located where the old Zoe's kitchen used to be, this is a nice healthy restaurant replacement I suppose. You can pick bowl, burrito, nachos etc and whichever option you choose you can pick a meat and veggies as well. I loveee all the fresh vegetable toppings you can get with your meal! The best part is that the first scoop of guac is free here! And the workers here are so nice. I love the salsa bar which also has a wide variety of hot sauces to choose from. The set up is much like Diablo's/Chipotle/Moe's but they are set apart because they grill the burritos. Also, they have pretty hardy portions like their competitors. I loved this place. The owner or manager asked me to give them a try when a neighboring restaurant that I was attempting to go to was closed and out of business. I stopped by this new spot as it near work. I like that it's a clean establishment and the workers were friendly. During the first week they were offering free drinks and guacamole, which is a nice perk. I got the steak mini quesadilla, and there was an up charge for the steak. Normal proteins are beans, chicken, and ground beef. There is a large selection of additions for whatever entree you choose (bowl, quesadilla, grilled burrito, tacos...), so that was pretty neat. They did not ask me about the type of cheese, so I'm not sure what shredded cheese they put on it. I will say that they don't pack the protein on the entree, so my mini quesadilla wasn't bursting with beef even though I paid a little more. They took out a little cup/spoon and then measured it onto the tortilla. At $11.08 an 8" tortilla was a bit pricey, but it comes with house fried chips. I paid for the queso and was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. I might stop again, as the variety of toppings gives you the opportunity to change things up. read more
