We had lunch here during our visit at the Bay Area Discovery Museum. They had a simple menu, which catered more to the kids than the parents. My toddlers were attracted to the themed sandwiches (i.e. Butterfly sandwich, Alligator sandwich, etc.) We ordered a Turkey Sandwich, Soup, Artichoke Chicken Pizza, and beverages. I appreciate that they are offering healthy options. But I was hoping for a richer flavor. The menu items were a little pricey. This is expected when you're in a museum or themed park. It's k ce to have a place to have quality food within the museum. I just hope the flavor is richer next time.

The inattentive and rude cashier that repeatedly failed to get our order right.

We were pretty appalled by the inattentive and unprofessional conduct of the cashier. We wanted to beat the lunch crowd so came into the cafe at 10:50 in the morning and no other customers were inside. To start, I noticed that the cashier was extremely rude when taking our order, as if she were bored and impatient and wasn't really paying attention to what I was ordering. Regardless, we ordered four chicken pesto sandwiches and two quesadillas and then sat on a bench next to the pickup counter to wait for our order. We waited until 11:20 (by which point there was a huge line and numerous people who ordered after us had picked up their food) and then finally asked about our order. Apparently, the two turkey sandwiches and two quesadillas (which is NOT what we ordered) sitting at the counter top for some time turned out to be ours. I only discovered this after pulling up the receipt emailed to myself and saw that the inattentive cashier had charged us for two turkey sandwiches instead of four chicken pesto sandwiches. So when I told her the problem, she didn't apologize, didn't make eye contact, and said in a bored manner she'll get us two chicken sandwiches. So I told her no, we want four chicken sandwiches, two quesadillas and no turkey sandwich at all. I told her she needs to charge me for two more chicken sandwiches which she failed to do so the first time around. So I paid for two more sandwiches and waited for our food. And out comes only two chicken sandwiches alongside with the previous two turkey sandwiches. I had lost my patience by this point as it was almost noon. We ended up having to wait AGAIN for the other two chicken sandwiches and ultimately wasting over an hour waiting for 4 sandwiches and 2 quesadillas because the cashier could not be bothered to listen to our order. Ridiculous. Here's a photo of that cashier wearing rabbit ears.

The Bay Area Discovery museum only food option. As a member I have eaten here often. The food is good, I like all of the salads and the sandwiches but they are a bit steep $8- $10 for average to small portion. The kids options are fun and simple, $5. If you order a hot drink like a latte or a chai the large comes in a small cup filled 3/4 for a whopping $5. If you tip the staff will hoot.

It was like a pig pen, no more for me.

The less sweet version was just right for me and I think the bitterness from each tea balanced each other well. The matcha added grassy notes, while the floral jasmine made for a very fragrant drink! The salted cheese cream on top added this perfect savory balance to the sweetness of the drink. It's one of those combinations that sounds a little unexpected but just works. My one note for next time is to go half sugar so the matcha flavor can really shine through, but that's a personal preference more than a criticism. The Black Sesame Latte was good, but we both wished the sesame flavor was a little more pronounced. If you're going in expecting bold, nutty black sesame notes, it's a touch on the subtle side. Still enjoyable, just leaves you wanting a little more of what drew you to order it in the first place. Overall a really fun spot with creative drinks and a great vibe. Already thinking about what to try on the next visit!

On the straightforward level, the drinks are genuinely well made: precise, balanced, and attentive to detail. The bartenders work with the care of craftspeople rather than performers. If you're curious about their more distinctive offerings, look for the whiskey and gin created with St. George Spirits, using juniper berries sourced from ancient bristlecone pines. It's an interesting example of how ingredients can carry a sense of time that goes beyond mere flavor. What sets The Interval apart, though, is that it is also the home of The Long Now Foundation, whose work is oriented toward "civilization-scale" thinking over the next 10,000 years. The setting reinforces that aspiration without feeling like a gimmick: the Manual for Civilization library (about 3,500 books), prototypes related to the 10,000 Year Clock, Brian Eno's permanent generative art installation, and a range of artifacts arranged throughout a restored 1930s industrial building at Fort Mason. The result is less "theme" than atmosphere, it's an environment that quietly nudges you toward reflection. It's also worth noting the economics of the place. The Interval operates in support of a nonprofit mission, and there are clear ways to participate beyond ordering a drink: membership, the Bottle Keep program (with bottles suspended overhead), and a seminar series that has earned a strong reputation. Even a casual visit contributes, in a small but real way, to projects intended to outlast any single moment of cultural attention. I wouldn't call it a bar that will change your life. But it is a bar that changes the terms of the evening. You can come for a well-executed cocktail and leave having spent an hour thinking about time, continuity, and what it might mean to build institutions that answer not only to the present, but to the future.

Much of the art on the walls were for sale and had a variety of styles. The coffee bar offers a variety of drinks and foods. What caught my eye right away was one of their coffee drinks was called a Raktajino. This is something only Trekkies would understand as a Klingon drink. I knew I was in the right place. For a snack, I tried their cheesecake bar called Mr. Barry Cheesecake. It was a berry cheesecake with a layer of berries and a crust under the cheese itself. It was delightful except for the fact that it got caught up in the roof of your mouth a lot. I had a honey lavender latte, although the Raktajino sounded good too. Their honey lavender syrup is really good and not too sweet. My friend had their Orange Blossom latte and said it was a little stronger and sweeter than mine but still good. I highly recommend coming here if you're in Fort Mason or anywhere nearby. They had lots of options and a good sense of humor!

During a recent visit, I had an uncomfortable experience with extremely rude behavior in the gift shop. After my visit, I received a survey from the museum and answered honestly about that experience, believing feedback is meant to help an institution improve. What happened next was shocking. My membership was canceled without warning, without explanation, and without anyone asking for clarification about what occurred. I never requested to cancel and later reached out because I wanted to renew -- only to be refused communication. Being removed after decades of support simply for offering honest feedback feels punitive and deeply out of alignment with the values the Disney name represents. Constructive feedback should lead to dialogue, not exclusion.
