The barista who made my mocha was so kind and informative, taking time to explain the menu to me, as I had never been here before. Forever on a mission to find the best chai tea in the area and I think this place is a top contender. Staff was super nice and polite. Shop is small but offers indoor and outdoor seating. Tried this place as it has straight up 5 star reviews on Yelp. Street parking was no problem. Walked in and was greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. There were two small groups of people noisily chatting away, the entire place was giving friendly vibes. The person behind the counter asked if it was my first time there, if I prefer hot drinks (yes), and that anything they have listed on their iced menu can be done just as well hot. He then asked what my regular drink was. I shared it was a cappuccino, and I do try some syrups, but don't like things that are too sweet. He then suggested a smoked chestnut cappuccino- I was in. I also ordered their "vegan" hummus sandwich, and one of the incredible looking prepackaged cinnamon rolls for later. The cappuccino was large. He had a metal lid on it that was set on fire. After a little he quickly put the lid on so the smoke was trapped in the cup. It was an interesting flavor, not sweet, I did enjoy it. The vegan was a very fancy open faced affair served with chips. It was a very good light meal. The gentleman who made the sandwich - the same guy who made the cappuccino - asked me by name how everything was. I can't remember my own name most days so the attention to detail was seriously impressive. After noting all the attention to detail I started looking up the owners info. Wasn't on their Instagram (which I did follow) but was buried somewhere on their website. The gentleman is Aaron, a trained chef who worked around the U.S. and France. Samantha is an established mixologist. No wonder their food and drinks are outstanding in flavor and presentation. Whenever I'm in the area I'll definitely be back. Check them out! read more

Anytime I'm traveling out of town, I'm ALWAYS on the hunt for a good coffee shop because I'm a coffee shop connoisseur. That is absolutely my thing! So when I found Bean Head on Instagram, I was already sold and knew I wanted to go. But when I found out they were Black-owned AND family-owned, I made it a priority that we had to stop there on our way back home to Baltimore from King of Prussia. And I'm so glad we did! We made Bean head our pit stop before heading to Christiana Mall for a day of shopping, and honestly, everything was great from start to finish. First of all, the aesthetic! Beanheads gives Black excellence. It gives rooted. It gives culture. It gives "I love Black people" while still maintaining a clean, modern, beautifully curated aesthetic. It feels intentional without being overwhelming. There's something about the atmosphere that immediately makes you want to sit down, vibe out, and stay awhile. We were greeted by one of the owners when we walked in, and she personally talked us through the different coffee options and helped us figure out what we wanted. Both owners happened to be there, and that personal interaction really made the experience stand out. You could genuinely feel the pride they have in what they've created. The coffees weren't overly sweet, which I actually appreciated. But despite not being super sweet, they did not lack flavor at all. The roast was strong, smooth, and flavorful, which is exactly what I want from a good cup of coffee. We were genuinely just vibing in there. It was one of those places where you leave thinking, "Yeah... I like this spot. As a Black-owned, family-owned business, I absolutely LOVE seeing spaces like this thriving. Shoutout to the owners because they are clearly doing something special, and we wish them nothing but continued success and growth! I've only been in 4-5 times and I'm pretty sure I need to bailing on the other places I've most frequenting because they lack consistency or the level of coffee here. I make it a habit of searching for and trying unique and interesting espresso cafes on my travels. Sometimes I am fortunate to find places that exceed all of my expectations. Bean Head is one of the places I wish it was around the corner from my house. Bean Head service and coffee were exceptional. The shop was welcoming and fun place to be not even talking about the great coffee. Count yourself lucky if you live in Wilmington and can drop in whenever you have time. I always look up yelp reviews to find good coffee shops while I'm traveling, I was unsure about this one since it only had 5 reviews but after going, felt compelled to write a review! They need more! I loved the speciality latte options, so different and fun. And I've come to only want to go to coffee places with homemade syrups, since I have a ton of monin and torani at home. Anywho, I tried the kettle corn iced latte. The barista did tell me their syrups have flavor but aren't too sweet, and I asked her to make mine a little sweeter than she normally would. It was cute, came with little side of kettle corn to munch on. The espresso flavor in the coffee was so rich and smooth, something that's been lacking in all the recent coffee shops I've tried. Kettle corn flavor was subtle but the latte itself was delicious and I think the syrup intensified the espresso flavor. I almost got the Cinnoman toast iced latte, too, for my ride home. I also saw matcha on the menu which is great because my husband's not a coffee guy. Super cute inside, simple and clean and the building has a lot of charm. Wow! I have never seen coffee set on fire! Actually, it was the cap with hazelnuts on top that was set on fire and it's sweet smokiness imbued itself into coffee. This is perfection and innovation in a cup. I also had a piece of a crossaint with gouda. It melted in my mouth. It was beyond. Well what an honor to be the first to review. Where do I start. First off this was the perfect day to come out and try a new coffee shop. Got there right around opening time so it wasn't busy or crowded. The weather was around the 60s which is perfect for a hot drink or iced drink. This place is a bit tucked away in Wilmington but now easily my go to spot. They have specialty drinks that can be made hot or iced AND the syrups are homemade. We know I'm a sucker for homemade syrups. They use La Colombe coffee which is always a good choice too. Did I mention for iced coffee they offer coffee iced cubes as an alternative! I got the pumpkin fluff latte and I'm not a fan of sweet things but let me tell you they nailed it. It's not overpowering sweet and you get that fall flavor. Perfect. They make their oat milk in house which i absolutely love, it's rare to find coffee shops like this. Lastly, had a chat with the owner, she's so outgoing and sweet. Gives this coffee shop that personal homey touch. Needless to say this was a 10/10 experience and I will most definitely be back, probably become a regular and visit every Sunday.
