I am surprised I have not reviewed this place yet seeing as I come here almost everyday! The coffee is delicious, I love their seasonal cherry blossom latte. The coffee itself has a good balance, no burnt taste at the end. They always have fun flavors and baked goods. The lemon lavender pastry is my favorite and the halloumi sandwich is a must try. It is a bit small but they have plenty of outdoor seating. The service is always prompt and polite. I highly recommend this coffee shop to my fellow coffee lovers.

Quaint little neighborhood gem! Enjoyed a raspberry bar and latte. Friendly service...will definitely return when in the area. Look forward to trying a sandwich!

My partner and I both ordered the Sprout breakfast sandwich - mine on sourdough, his on GF bread with a white mocha latte and iced americano. They were super careful handling the GF bread to not cross-contaminate. Sandwich was DELICIOUS. The hot sauce was the perfect balance to the sandwich and not too spicey. Plenty of outdoor seating. Super cute spot with little trinkets for sale. Highly recommend!

Hidden gem! Can't believe it took us this long to come to Scout Cafe, the staff was so friendly, the food was delicious and reasonably priced, the coffee was perfect and the atmosphere was so homey! Can't wait to come back!

Came with some friends on a lil Delaware coffee tour we planned. We got the flight they were offering, all the drinks were absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the pairing they chose with the biscotti that came with the flight. We were really well taken care of and the vibe was very comfortable. The baristas were all so kind and kept the place very tidy even with how busy they were! Will definitely be back to try more food as I'm seeing they have a bunch of good food reviews. Definitely worth the stop.

Quaint neighborhood cafe with yummy coffee and pastries. Came here for breakfast and got some work done on my computer. Free wifi and good amount of comfy seats to settle in for a fee hours. Would definitely come again!

Friendly, clean, with a little funky but fun theme. There is Boy/Girl Scout stuff to find throughout the café, plenty of space to sit and sip, and a great selection of both foods and beverages. The staff was incredibly kind and packaged our to-go order with exceptional care.

Charming little cafe. Parking was a bit challenging (street) but the cafe itself and the atmosphere were both excellent. My vanilla latte with oat milk was fantastic. One of the best I've had in a while. Very cute spot, will definitely return!

We're a little obsessed with Scout Café. Every time we're in Wilmington, my husband goes every single morning for his Hummu-licious Toast and latte -- it's basically his happy place. I love switching things up and haven't hit a bad choice yet. My favorites: the Deli Turkey sandwich (so good), the Avo Toast -- always with an extra egg -- and for drinks, I bounce between their smooth cold brew and the cozy, maple-y Lumberjack. The vibe is just as good as the food. The staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the back seating area is bright, cozy, and perfect for hanging out or just enjoying a slow morning. It's the kind of place you end up coming back to again and again -- easy, welcoming, and consistently delicious.

What a little Jen in Delaware! I picked my sister up from the train station and we wanted someplace to stop and get a quick breakfast sandwich before work. Man oh man did we find the right place! Bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on rye, and my sister got a bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant. Funny enough, of course I didn't manage to snap a picture of either come, but we ate them quickly. we grabbed a cappuccino to go, as well as an almond croissant. Both were fantastic. We were saying this is a great place if you need somewhere quiet study, or just hang out. Fantastic ambience. We will definitely be back.

Best-priced coffee around! I always get cafe au laits. They have fun new flavors every season. My fall favorite was rose pistachio, my winter favorite was ginger cardamom, and now my spring favorite is honey ube. The larges are big, priced so well, and the ambiance in here is great. My favorite coffee shop in Wilmington.

This may be the headquarters of Brandywine Coffee Roasters (part of the same business as Brew HaHa…read morecoffee) but they do not sell a wide range of Brandywine Coffee and the coffee that they serve in the cafe is under the label BrewHaHa. The coffee was fine, staff was friendly, and the space was very comfortable with plenty of seating and tables. As a roaster, Brandywine is amazing. I have ordered their beans many times for me pretty much all home brewing methods (hario, kalita, immersion, batch, and espresso). I am always impressed by the quality of their coffee, their wide range of offerings, and their artwork. But, if you are hoping to visit one of the best roasters in the country and try a variety of different coffees, this is not the place for you. No pour overs, and the espresso and drip coffee were only so-so. Beats Starbucks, Dunkin, and a lot of other coffee shops, but not a worthwhile detour/destination. The 4 stars is for the cafe experience. As a roaster, Brandywine is undoubtedly 5/5!

Coffee addic...I mean aficionados seek out the purest form of caffeine delivery in the spectrum of taste. Spending lots of money on single origin coffee, fancy grinders, and the like is not to get any enhanced caffeine high but it is to unlock discernible flavor profiles. Ask anyone who is familiar with single origin coffee and they probably could taste test a blind pour over and tell which region of Earth from which the fruit originates. Anyway, that aside, where is there to go with coffee purchasing beyond taste? Well, that's where the importance of who exactly is roasting and selling comes into play. Brandywine Coffee Roasters is a perfect example of blending art and taste. The art-part is standout here. I haven't really felt the need to save a coffee bag before and consider hanging on a wall, but it's easy to see why one might want to with the artwork of Todd Purse (local Delaware artist and resident screenprinter). I did some digging and Brandywine roasters actually started as BrewHaHa! and others in the 90s. It and has been around in its current form since 2015. I really enjoyed the bags; they apparently are all done in-house in a printing shop and are hand-printed. Besides the artwork, each bag has traceable detailed information about the coffee within and a wax seal. You can see how cool the artwork is; I picked up a few bags for Halloween. The coffee itself was on par with any other high quality small roaster; the roast is light to medium with a good smooth flavor profile that was mildly fruity but more subtle that I was expecting given the artwork (maybe next time I shouldn't look at horror movie inspired knife while tasting). Highly recommended, especially if you have a coffee lover and need a thoughtful gift.

There were two small groups of people noisily chatting away, the entire place was giving friendly vibes. The person behind the counter asked if it was my first time there, if I prefer hot drinks (yes), and that anything they have listed on their iced menu can be done just as well hot. He then asked what my regular drink was. I shared it was a cappuccino, and I do try some syrups, but don't like things that are too sweet. He then suggested a smoked chestnut cappuccino- I was in. I also ordered their "vegan" hummus sandwich, and one of the incredible looking prepackaged cinnamon rolls for later. The cappuccino was large. He had a metal lid on it that was set on fire. After a little he quickly put the lid on so the smoke was trapped in the cup. It was an interesting flavor, not sweet, I did enjoy it. The vegan was a very fancy open faced affair served with chips. It was a very good light meal. The gentleman who made the sandwich - the same guy who made the cappuccino - asked me by name how everything was. I can't remember my own name most days so the attention to detail was seriously impressive. After noting all the attention to detail I started looking up the owners info. Wasn't on their Instagram (which I did follow) but was buried somewhere on their website. The gentleman is Aaron, a trained chef who worked around the U.S. and France. Samantha is an established mixologist. No wonder their food and drinks are outstanding in flavor and presentation. Whenever I'm in the area I'll definitely be back. Check them out!

Keep going to the stop sign. When you're at the stop sign look across the street to the left and they're right there. I got lucky and found street parking right in front of their door. Walked in and they were packed. One tiny table open squashed between two others and the bar were my options so I sat at the bar. I try to pay cash at Mom & Pops place so they're not hammered by the credit card fees. They were low on change and recommending credit cards. I dug around in my pockets and found exact change. They were all out of pastries but one. I wanted to try their pasties de nada but all that was left was a croissant so I ordered it, along with their French toast and an oatmilk cappuccino. Turns out the croissant was already purchased by another patron who was going to have it after their meal. It hadn't been served yet. I received a refund. A couple showed up and sat at the bar as all the tables were full. Then someone else showed up and pointed at the seat I had my coat on saying they were told to sit there as it was the last seat open in the entire place. Packed. The French toast came out in good time but somehow my cappuccino got lost in the mix. It was immediately made and brought out. The French toast is as good as everyone says it is. Light, well filled, great flavor without being too sweet. I was trying to eat it all but had to stop 3/4 of the way as somehow it's filling. The cappuccino is also very good. I made the mistake of wanting to try them out at 11:45 on a holiday. 100% my bad. Considering there are only 3 people working the entire establishment, they did a great job. The food and drink were totally worth it and I will be back (at a less busy time)! *Quick add: I usually don't post while in the establishment but did here. Even with it being busy the owner came by to talk about the review and share a little about their business. They do evening events, private dinners. They also host guest chefs. Their goal is to elevate dishes, which is exactly what they did to the French toast. Based on this one breakfast I would definitely consider them for any function I was hosting in the area.
