What a great local bead shop option! There are not many bead shops in this area. Found mostly what I was looking for at a reasonable price. They had a large inventory and even though I didn't find exactly what I was looking for, I was able to find beads that were close enough at a price that I was comfortable paying. I was trying to find flat black beads (not shiny) and of 2 different sizes to make a rosary as a gift. I did find some marbled pattern, matte beads that did the job. The store wasn't extremely large and the beads were not extremely exotic, but I got what I needed and the operating hours were convenient, so it was a good option for me and I am very happy they were here. read more

Orange County doesn't have many dedicated bead stores, so I'm really grateful for Beadology! It's a nice shop with a decent variety of beads - much better than you'd find at your typical chain craft store and at comparable prices. From glass and gemstone beads to a super fun selection of charms, there's something here for every kind of beading project. The location is also super convenient and easy to find. No parking drama here. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I love that they offer beading classes on a wide range of topics each month. The selection of beads are gorgeous, genuinely can't find as many high-quality embellishments at craft stores as you can here. They have the more beautiful collection of iridescent sequins I have seen, for any embroidery or beading enthusiasts being here is like being a kid in a candy shop, so many unique novelty beads and shiny, eye-catching gems. I feel good about being able to support a small local business. They have a really nice selection of seed beads, which is what I went there to find. They are well organized by color, so it was easy to compare different sizes in the color I wanted. I received all the help I needed finding the string I was looking for, also. HOWEVER - for my daughters jewelry making supplies and for the onesie twosie items I may need in a pinch, I will always go to BEADOLOGY. A small family owned business, I adore Iris and Erin, a mother and daughter team! The shop is well stocked, excellently curated (especially if you enjoy trinkets and charms), wide selection of seed beads (Miyuki, Toho, Czech) and basic supplies. There are beading classes as well as an array of peyote stitch kits. My daughters love the selection of cute charms and unique beads. They are incredibly rude here and do not deserve anyone's time or money. My mom and I wandered in, and 6 ladies were sitting at the table beading. Since none of them said hello or welcomed us in, we assumed none of them worked there. We asked the only standing person if they had magnetic beads there, and she said she didn't work there. We had to say, "oh, who works here?" for the lady at the table to say "I do." .....okay.....so we ask again for what we're looking for. Did she know where we could find some? "Uh no idea" she said...no eye contact, didn't bother to look up from her beading project. I found her lack of customer service appalling. We went across the street to JJ beads where they had 3x larger selection, more shoppers and smiling staff. They even had a table of food set up in the back for a Mother's Day Celebration, to share with all of the shoppers. Talk about complete polar opposites! Spend your hard earned money across the street at a place where they want to help you and whose prices are much, much more affordable! read more

Very disappointed in this shop. Super overpriced despite the extensive variety. They do not allow you to design in store and are not accommodating. They are not set up for making jewelry on site unless you are in a paid class. One of my favorite things to do as a child was design a bracelet at the local bead shop, sit down, put it together and leave eating it. Brought my Brice in here on her birthday and they totally killed our birthday excitement. I will never shop there again. Poor customer service. What happened to the old bead trays where you could design something? What happened to giving the customer a great experience? This place has a lot to learn if they are going to survive. read more

UNFRIENDLY... This shop looks like it is a family run business, but no one in the family will offer a greeting!! The dad was working at the table in the middle of the store. He looked up but didn't say anything. The daughter who was behind the counter also looked up as I entered the store and didn't say hello either. Once I walked close enough to her, she muttered what seemed to be a greeting. The shop is small but organized. They didn't really have what I was looking for...which was pewter buttons. There was only a very limited selection. I was also looking for gold filled or plated box clasps. There wasn't much of a selection. All of the clasps were in tiny packages along the wall grouped in singles or multiples. I couldn't tell from the packages what the exact properties of the contents were. Was I looking at a "gold" colored something or did the item really have some gold in it? I didn't even bother asking. The few questions that I did pose were met with truncated answers. When I was ready to check out, the daughter was working at the table next to her dad. She didn't get up. I noticed that the mom was in the back room behind the counter so I politely called out saying that I was ready to check out and she rung up my purchases. In conclusion...limited selection...too far from my house...not worth the drive. read more

DO NOT waste your time going to this shop. there was a group of women at a table doing beading and NO ONE acknowledged me as I was walking around looking at the merchandise. I didn't even know if any of them were employees there to HELP CUSTOMERS !! The few glances I got were stares as if I opened the door to someones private home and just walked in. I was very disappointed walking into this lovely establishment. I drove all the way from Long Beach to visit this store. I do not "bead" but am fascinated and respect the work that beading entails. With that I wanted to check out the beads (maybe purchase a kit), look at any pieces that were beaded and might be for sale only to be met by "THE OWNER" who tried to help me but her delivery was as if to say "if you don't know about beading why are you in my shop"... I have been to this store 3 times. There is a younger woman who I believe is the daughter of the older woman. Every time I have gone into this store they are too busy in taking the class themselves or are they still are just sitting and talking among themselves. They aren't very inviting. I had taken a schedule home to look at. So a few days later I called to get some info about a certain class. The young woman made it seem like I couldn't take the class because I didn't have enough experience in beading. In that case all they offer in their schedule is advanced/ intermediate classes. So I don't understand why they don't offer beginner classes. So how u can begin to take those other advanced/intermediate classes, if they don't even offer beginner? It just seems like they cater to their regulars, and don't welcome new people who are interested in learning. I guess they don't want the business. read more

Very Rude! Would not recommend this shop for decent beaders at all. I was with my wife looking at the selection they have; but the service was no were to be found. Well they were there, but they did not care I was there nor they welcome us. Rude! But I did notice that as soon a lady that looked as she had money to spend them all 3 employees says Hello! Thinking that this could be me having a bad day. I ignore and continue with my shopping, but it happened again. I have gone there for 2nd and 3rd time and the service is the same with me and my wife. Yes they have good stuff, but the 3 Asian Girls are rude, unless they see you have money to spend they won't talked to you or answer any question. This place is HILARIOUS! Unreal,'actually. I have never been more disappointed in a Craft store. I mean honestly, I'm pretty sure I have had better help in the craft department in a Walmart. I am a small time jewelry maker, who upon walking Into this place was excited and filled with ideas! I was quickly turned off by Some table filled with 30-60 year olds beading and gossiping sitting in the store. I felt like I was walking into an 8th grade PE class. I shopped around with my son in my arms, who was angelic as usual, and the ladies stared at me for a long uncomfortable while, before making a comment like "don't put him down In here" or "he better not break anything". I felt uncomfortable enough to ask my husband to take my child out of the store while I finished shopping. I approached the rude boxDye kris Jenner haircut woman and asked her a question regarding wire wrapping, or something, and she looked at me like I had asked her what year it was.... And then proceeded to tell me that it was a "complicated skill, that you have to have real knowledge of." I raised an eyebrow and she finished with "It's an actual technique we use"..... And motioned to her awkward and now silent table of bead enthusiasts...? I looked at her and with such serious bite said "WELL. THANK YOU." So I forgot to write down the price on one of the baggies of beads. The kris Jenner type and her presumed daughter sauntered over and took my entire tray of beads,' and walked around the store verifying all the prices I had written. It's was appallingly obvious and rude. I spent 100$ there, and she condescendingly explained that If was an " avid shopper" and bought enough "supplies" I would get a discount with this special Discount card. . She might as well have put air quotes on the whole thing. She was talking baby talk. I walked out feeling angry and wishing I had farted on everyone's beads before I left. Don't waste your money. Unfriendly! I am new to the beading shops in So Cal...had regular ones up north. Excited to get to know the shops, beaders, take classes, etc.... This is little to no interaction with staff. So if you are looking for ideas, suggestions and talk about purchases, forget it. There is a table of beaders and the owners sitting at working and seem like you are interrupting them for wanting to purchase something. Beadology is a beaders' bead shop for the unsnobby. I am an ex-patriate of one of those "TOO GOOD FOR YOU" places in which I spent about half my annual salary for a good kick in the butt by the owners. No such thing at Beadology. They are as friendly and helpful as you can get. Erin works 6 days a week to keep her customers happy and returning. Their teachers are so friendly. It's a perfect no-pressure place where you can gather in the middle of the store with like-minded ladies and have a great day together -- every single time you go there! Their prices are about what I'd expect in this area (wholesalers in LA are less expensive) - in other words, they are fairly priced. Surprisingly good selection for a small store. I love this store! Great selection of beads - always changing inventory so the store seems fresh every time I go. They have an outstanding selection of Japanese seed beads ranging from size 15 to size 8's. The owner always strives to keep on top of the bead trends so hard to find beads like the Halo coated Super Duos beads, mini super duos, Czech bricks, and Czech "O" beads in many great colors are brought into the store. She brings in big name teachers too as well as local talent teaching great projects every weekend. I don't think they want any business. They were not interested when a customer (I) wanted to ask them a question about a certain item I was looking for. They never pressure me to buy stuff or follow me around the store nagging me with "Are you sure i can't help you find something?"
