Rude and unhelpful. Won't return a second time. I came in and there was barely anyone in the store. Manager was at the counter examining a necklace she seemed to be repairing or designing. I approached and stood quietly in front of her assuming she'd look up. She continued acting like I wasn't there, politely waiting 3 ft directly across from her at the counter. Finally she looked up. I showed her my bead necklace and asked for it to be restrung or adjusted. She took one look and instantly said no we don't do that. I was stupefied. No explanation. Nothing. I ask question where something is at in the store and she point and say rudely where but she still put price tag on the thing she want sell- I cannot find and she not come over she just talk and tell me. But so many choice I cannot see. I take over to her and she tell me that the one she has but leather not good and very old, dry, almost green color. I was extremely disappointed by the customer service at Bedazzle on Solano. When my 6-year-old approached the store, the staff member on duty yelled at him and lectured him before realizing I was there. Her behavior was completely uncalled for, and when I addressed it, she refused to apologize or take responsibility. I expected a welcoming, friendly environment, but instead experienced hostility and a lack of accountability. One of the very few bead stores left in the greater Bay Area, this is the place to shop. Especially if you are into beadweaving, you will likely find what you need. I've been to many, many bead stores around the country and this is one of the best. A fantastic inventory of seed beads, shaped beads, findings, and thread. I needed something fun for my tween to do for her 12th birthday party with friends. My daughter wanted to get her ears pierced, and I was happy to see that they do ear piercing and have a nice assortment of posts. In addition, this is a craft shop with thousands of beads available for the choosing. I was in luck, because they do a "Jewelry Making Party", that was perfect for my group of pre- teen girls. The price was $18 per person, with access to a table of beads and 90 minutes to put you necklace and bracelet together. The owner was VERY HELPFUL, showing us how to pull things together and providing some tips, as well as, putting clasps on our creations. The shop is a little dated, which is why they didn't get a score of five, but it didn't stop us from having a great time! read more

Beadazzled is such a wonderful, happy, sunny store. We went there to get my partner's ears pierced. It was an incredibly enjoyable, easy, fast and painless experience. Lillian, the owner, is very kind, welcoming, and professional. She explained the whole process. We set about choosing from the surgical studs available. There is an excellent assortment of yellow and white gold ball studs in a variety of sizes, (3mm, 4mm, 5mm), as well as pearl and synthetic diamonds and birthstone studs. We chose the 5mm gold ball studs which look amazing. Lillian made a small dot for the placement of the piercing with extreme care and precision. She then used a piercing gun for the piercing which did not hurt at all! She provided written instructions for aftercare. It was such an excellent ear piercing experience. I highly recommend Beadazzled and Lillian to anyone who wants to get their ears pierced. Or ears pierced for children, too. We left Beadazzled completely overjoyed and happy with how wonderful my partner's new gold studs looked. I called to make an appointment for ear piercing on a Saturday. The woman who answered the phone was kind and welcoming and let me come in the same day. I arrived with my daughter who has had her ears pierced before but it never stayed for complicated reasons. I had read other reviews so I wasn't sure we would be greeted with welcome. But the woman inside, who seemed to be the proprietor, was incredibly kind, warm, welcoming and professional. She was encouraging, complimented my child so she would feel comfortable, and didn't rush us as she chose her earrings. The piercing was over quickly and cleanly and she gave us ear care instruction sheet. This is our third time (previously in another city) and probably our best time. Fingers crossed this one stays! We are huge fans of this store, not only for the beading and jewelry supplies but for the ear piercing too. The owner is so sweet and very experienced with the piercing gun. Years ago, when my older daughter was 10, I did all the research and went to Zebra piercing to get her ears pierced with a needle for the first time. The wait was horrendous and her ears got terribly, painfully infected following the "soak it in saline solution" advice. She had to remove the earrings and wait a few years to try again. We decided to go old school with the ear piercing gun at Beadazzled a couple years later with my younger daughter and have since done double piercings on both daughters there too. We've had zero problems with infections or anything else. The owner is skilled and responsive, and there's a huge selection of starter earrings, and the whole ordeal is reasonably-priced. Just use the cleaning solution they sell and follow the after-care instructions. It's not rocket science. Beadazzled also has a fantastic offering of beads, findings, etc. and the owner is a passionate and skilled jewelry maker too. She's so patient when my kids and their friends want to hang out and look for very long periods of time, helps when necessary, doesn't butt in when not. I think she gets how fun it is to just lose yourself in all of the creative possibilities. We love this business and the woman who runs it and hope she stays in our community for years to come. read more

I have only been in the store a handful of times over the years, but every time I go the woman (who may be the owner) seems so suspicious of me. She watches me as if I am going to steal something. Came here to get my daughter's ears pierced. For $50, my daughter got 14k gold studs and a very patient lady pierced her ears. It was awesome. Also, light-filled and full of great beads. A great discovery on Solano Avenue (where it moved after 17 years in Lafayette.) Lilian is not only helpful, she's absolutely delightful. This time I came with beads but Lilian has such a wide selection that in future I will buy them at beadazzled. Lillian really knows her business, is extremely helpful (I strung my own, with her help and her attaching the clasp for a modest fee) but she creates an atmosphere of serenity and practical art. As the bead stores on Shattuck Avenue have closed, someone mentioned this store on Solano. I've been there previously and was not really impressed with the inventory. This time I went because I wanted something specific and went again. The owner was busy with a customer and the latter heard me mention to someone who came with me (she did not enter the store as she is wary of social distancing) that I have to wait as someone else is being attended to. When I asked about the item I was interested in, I also inquired if there were any specials or sales. The owner answered haughtily, "there is hardly enough of anything, why should anything be on sale?'. I was thinking in my mind like, "wow, lady, it was a question not a demand". She was a bit more tolerant because I did buy not just browse, but seriously, in this pandemic, the owner is overdue for an attitude adjustment. I do not see stock flying out of her store and with this treatment, I can consider shopping online where I get better service without the judgement. And she had this little card which said for every $10 we get a stamp. My purchase was in the 3 digits and she then said, oh, you get one each time. For. The. Measly. $5. Discount. Buyers beware! Bad attitude. Bad disposition. She may not need your business. Go somewhere else. read more
