I've been traveling this road for years, and I always stop at Chevron each weekend to buy rocks. It's been so difficult in the past, largely because the employees are always trying to charge different prices. The entire kiosk is clearly signed, but nobody has a clear price, and no cashier can seem to find the key. A month ago they were all 3.99. Now there are 2 very clear signs that say 4.99. Each weekend I spend between $20 and $25, just on rocks. Today I stopped in and bought 5. On the way back I decided to stop in and buy a few more. The very rude man behind the counter tried to charge me $7.99 each. I told him everything was clearly signed $4.99. He walked over there and said, the big ones are more. I told him what I had been paying and he replied, well, I'll put another sign up, but the big ones are $7.99 each, implying that there was one in the first place. Over the past 5 weeks of me stopping in consistently there has never been a sign. And when you raised the price on everything else, you could have taken that opportunity to clearly sign something that would be priced different instead of just assuming that people knew. We call this bait and switch. And I will not be back. It is not my job to come in and eliminate a lack of communication and confusion in your business. read more
