It has taken me over a year to write this, as the experience was emotionally draining and deeply upsetting. Senior Helpers was originally recommended for light assistance, but my mother required hospice-level care. Management represented that caregivers assigned to our home would be trained for this level of care. Based on our experience, this was not consistently the case. Multiple caregivers demonstrated limited training in personal hygiene, patient mobility, medication handling, and overnight monitoring. I personally had to step in or assist on numerous occasions. Some caregivers stated their training consisted primarily of instructional videos. While several individuals were kind and well-intentioned, they did not appear adequately prepared for end-of-life care. There were several patient safety concerns, including: A medication administration error in which more than the intended dose was given, despite clear instructions that caregivers were not to administer medications at all. Improper assistance with patient mobility, even though appropriate equipment was available. Overnight shifts where required monitoring did not occur. Specific instructions regarding my mother's physical limitations being ignored, resulting in a fall (thankfully without serious injury). Caregivers sleeping or using personal phones for extended periods during scheduled shifts. Additionally, a member of management charged me cash during a home visit that I was later told was supposed to be free. When I raised this issue, it was denied despite the interaction being documented on in-home cameras. These incidents were documented and shared with management. Responses generally focused on staff replacement and billing rather than addressing broader concerns related to training, supervision, or systemic issues. Staffing reliability was also inconsistent. Some caregivers arrived late, some shifts went uncovered, and continuity of care was limited. A small number of caregivers were excellent, but they were the exception rather than the norm. When I raised concerns with management and ownership, communication was difficult and unprofessional, and many questions went unanswered. Contractual notice requirements limited our ability to immediately discontinue services despite ongoing safety concerns. We eventually transitioned to another care provider. After doing so, my mother's care stabilized, and the overall stress in our home decreased significantly. Based on our experience, I would urge extreme caution when considering Senior Helpers for hospice-level or complex medical care. Families in similar situations should carefully evaluate caregiver training, supervision practices, and escalation procedures--and read the contract closely. Update: 1/7/2026 In response to the owner's reply requesting that I reach out by phone, I did so today. I left a message stating that I was returning the owner's request for contact and noted that I preferred not to speak with the manager due to prior communication difficulties. Approximately 15 minutes later, I received a call from that same manager. She was polite, expressed surprise at my experience, and stated that she did not recall our prior interactions. I responded calmly and professionally. The call lasted approximately three minutes. The conversation was brief and respectful on both sides. Later this afternoon, I was contacted by my local police department and informed that a complaint had been made alleging that my call involved threatening language or profanity. Those allegations do not reflect my recollection of the call, which was professional in tone and made solely in response to the owner's public request for contact. I explained this context and was advised not to contact the company again. I agreed. Thankfully both conversations were recorded by my security cam with time & day stamps. The officer said I could file a false police report, but decided I just needed to more on... and so should you.

When taking my skills exam i got to speak with students from other programs and noticed they were very unprepared and some were unaware for the materials they are going to be tested on. Iam grateful to have taken this program. During the program we got presentations for job opportunities as well as scholarship programs. I suggested my dad hire a private case manager as her dementia was getting worse and my dad was having a hard time coping and managing her medical and emotional needs. Meredith coordinated doctors appointments, coached my dad through dealing with dementia, helped arrange for and provide caregivers, and offered moral and emotional support and guidance for my grandmother and the whole family. My grandmother passed away peacefully at home, and I don't think it would have gone as well as it did without the help and support of Meredith and her team. Meredith was very patient with my grandmother who was wary of new people and afraid of relinquishing control as her dementia progressed. This review is…read moreintended to inform folks considering this place, which is actually a few different homes in same area under same management. Meina Wu, the RN who runs these homes, has a domineering stubborn streak which makes communication difficult, and readily admitted that they "do not give medication" - which in her own unique way says that they cannot handle elders who have a very detailed medication list or have significant care needs. Yet she DOES care about her residents and can handle those with simple needs such as feeding, cleaning, peace of mind, and simple medication. Unfortunately I cannot recommend RN3LovingCareHomes. 921 Elm was the location that our Mom stayed in, among 3 board and care houses in a row where workers shifted from one to the next. The good: the CNA's , caregivers, and helpers are all well intended, caring, sincere, and very hard working people, so again: if your Mom or Grandpa does not need much medication or medical help of any importance, this could be a great place to take them. The bad: if your loved one is in need of important, detailed medicine or has care needs that might include bandaging wounds, physical therapy, intensive care, or simply night care that involves changing a diaper, taking to the bathroom often, or has falling issues, etc, then this is NOT the place to take them. We had to constantly monitor these people: it took numerous visits by Kaiser Home Health Care nurses and PT's just to scratch the surface. They had to train the workers in many basic medical practices such as dressing and bandaging wounds and giving medication properly. In fact I personally had to instruct each caregiver how to dispense my Mom's meds and I do not work in the medical field in any way. The understanding of the English language is so poor here, most of them could not even understand the medication list even when it was clearly revised twice by the HHC nurses ! On so many occasions, I caught them about the give the wrong dose because they could not simply understand adding a 10 mg pill to a 2.5 mg pill to make a total dose of 12.5 ! Again there were major road blocks because of language comprehension. Also of concern is they give medicine by hand, often not washing hands between activities (!) On the first night that we hired night care, Meina told this person to stand outside the room, and we reported this to the agency. Meina told us that her caregivers could sleep on the couch and "hear" if my Mom was having any problems and then take care of it. Beyond the idiocy of this idea, there is the simple fact that on most nights the in house caregiver sleeps way down the hall. If a resident needs help they are out of luck and up a creek without a paddle. The one caregiver provided needs to sleep at night to function the next day and only gets up a couple times to check in on residents. In fact we ended up hiring a night sitter from a 24 hour care company to stay with my Mom. There is no way that an elderly resident with anything like Alzheimer's or recovering from a stroke with a fall-risk or maybe just has to use the bathroom or get changed often, can be safe and comfortable. This extra help costs were about $1000 per week, so that brought our bill for the month to about $10,000 when added to the board and care rent. The upshot is that it is incredibly difficult to find ANY board and care facility that has the medical knowledge and staff to handle ANYONE with significant needs, and Meina's RN3 LovingCareHomes are not exception. Unless your loved on has very simply care needs such as being fed and cleaned, this place will not be safe. I give two stars for the things they do well for simple needs elders, and again they all were really wonderful people, but as described here-in, for our Mom that was by far not nearly enough.

Her weekly visit helps me to stay positive and less depressed; feeling confident in self care. Just want others to know that home health visits are valuable, providing education and support for your self care at the comfort of your home; especially when one is not allowed to drive during healing period. My vitals were taken, I was shown the exercises, but what set her apart is that I was treated in such a compassionate way. I was not just a body healing from surgery. I was treated as an integrated person, recovering from surgery while all the daily stressors of life continued. My surgery was to relieve spinal compression, and it felt confusing to have some of the same symptoms as my nerves were waking up. I looked forward to Carrah showing up and reporting my concerns as well as my progress. The exercises helped to strengthen my body but I shared stressors that impacted my recovery and she patiently listened which made it possible to feel a sense of release. As I mentioned to Carrah, endoscopic surgery can be a bit misleading because you have less pain but your body has still been through surgery. I recommend Carrah highly. She is not only compassionate but skilled and experienced. I will think of her when I walk down to the far end of my street. She was already fully booked, but was able to squeeze us in to help out. Though I do feel like she overexplained everything, I get that she needed to. She was at our home within a few hours and helped put our sweet Hana to peace. She was the hero we needed that day. Super grateful.

When we signaled for her to proceed, she was immediately ready and explained everything she was doing and what Lulu was experiencing. She moved along at our timing and treated us and our dog with immense respect and caring. She admired Lulu, spoke of the power of love between pets and people and expressed sincere condolences. I'd been worried because our ongoing home-visit vet wasn't available but Dr. Martin was as good as any vet could have been.
