First time here and I was suffering from fabric overload. I came in for something to re-cover my…read moredining room chairs. My husband had to pull me away because the more I wandered the more projects I started considering. If you know what you are doing re draperies or upholstery this is a bargain hunter's paradise. They have everything from high end fabric to trims, hardware, tools and even spray pain to match patio furniture. I also noticed some Sunbrella fabric as I was leaving. They have a wall of ridiculously priced materials (fabric and vinyl) in the $8-$12 a yard range. As the employee was helping me get my bolt down he told me to double check an other aisle in case I saw something for $4 a yard! I already had a bargain at $12 as well as a new project for the weekend.

The physical and online store sells mainly scrapbooking items. I've purchased Julie Nutting paper…read moredoll stamps and metal cutting dies that are manufactured by Prima, with whom they wholesale and sell to me as a loyal customer. While they are local and not too far from me, I'd have them shipped my orders to me with free shipping $100+, and they also give away or make it easy to acquire generous promo coupons. Artist Julie Nutting has released a lot of signature doll poses per line that she releases per year, that I've come to like and be able to use- which makes the free shipping offer and coupon offer a good deal. I'd pre-order and pay the discount bundle rate. They have a spreadsheet system that keeps the pre-order / in-stock orders all organized to be sure to ship everything in a timely manner without messing up the orders. They ship in a box as per customer request and enclose a printed receipt for pre-order and in-stock shipments, to show that they and the customers are in-tune with the orders going out and coming in. All of my orders so far have arrived undamaged in every way. In my last order, I noticed that I didn't have the (in-stock) stamp that go with the die I purchased that I thought I had, so when I quickly e-mailed them to request to merge the pre-order and in-stock orders to include the stamp instead of placing a new order, they told me they could do that. I let them know that I was willing to wait for the in-stock stamp to arrive at the same time as pre-order at a later date, if I wanted to include the revised order w/in the free shipping and not pay extra to ship the stamp (which I would've gotten much sooner). So, I am appreciative that they and I were in cohesion, since I'd read some businesses don't merge and ironically often tell customers who left out something to place another order and pay extra. At the end of each order, they offer Reward points based on your totals. They also hold an annual Warehouse Sale at their physical warehouse. Note: They are not a store to browse/shop in but rather, a "warehouse" where customers show up during the open hours to pick up their orders. And, they also have pickups at their Scottsdale meetups. So, if your orders are large, free shipping is feasible, right? They have become my go-to to purchase new releases, and I get to support a decent small local business :) Thanks for the excellent experience! Happy scrappin'!

Our daughter Edie, who is almost four, is in her seventh month of chemotherapy for leukemia. During…read morea recent hospital stay, we lost her most beloved stuffed animal -- a bunny with her name embroidered on the ear. Despite weeks of calls to the hospital, it was gone. Edie cried about it every day. My wife tracked down the same bunny online, but it had been discontinued and the personalized embroidery was no longer available. We bought a plain one and brought it to Twisted Stitches, hoping they could recreate the name. The staff treated it like it mattered as much to them as it did to us. They helped me match the font and thread color to the original, and even carefully removed existing stitching from the ear so the embroidery could be placed perfectly. When I picked it up, it was flawless -- indistinguishable from the bunny we lost. When I asked what I owed, Mel, the owner, refused payment. She didn't ask for anything in return. She simply said she was hoping for the best for our daughter and was happy to help. Edie has slept with her bunny every night since. To Mel and the team at Twisted Stitches: your skill gave us a perfect replica, but your kindness gave a little girl her best friend back. We can't recommend this business enough.
