Stopped in for lunch, while working in the area. I went with the grilled chicken sandwich, which the waitress said was a favorite of hers. Since the menu didn't mention any sides included, I added a cup of chili. Much to my surprise, there was fries on my plate. I wasn't changed extra, so I guess sandwiches may come with fries(not sure, because they are $3 extra if you choose a burger). Service was quick, probably because there weren't many people there. I will say that I enjoyed the chili. Tasted homemade, and was quite hearty. The chicken sandwich was another story. The chicken breast definitely appeared to be from a frozen bag...thin, odd consistency, and way over salted. It also had american cheese, which just didn't go well with it. The place was clean, including the bathroom. I probably would have given it 2 stars, but the chili put it past 2 stars.

Breakfast time! BEC sandwich, 2 scrambled eggs, B's&G's with extra sausage and potatoes. Just delicious!

It's not really a truck stop, but it is part of a convenience store at a Phillips 66 gas station. The only options for burgers in Waterloo near where we are, are either fast food or Denny's, Applebees, etc. It's a bit of a drive down Rte 3 to Red Bud, but if you want a very good burger at a reasonable price it's worth making the trip.

It was a little bit confusing on if we went to the main checkout or the one in the corner, which is kind of like a weird restaurant/ gambling area. Anyway, after we figure out what we wanted we waited for the order and ate it on the drive home. It did not package well, even from the store to the car which was like a 10-second walk. The fries were mushy and gross, and I feel like the burger was completely underwhelming. I think steak 'n shake has some of the best burgers. If we were going to stop somewhere local we probably should have done that. That. There's nothing to write home about and they offer a discount on some ice cream that's hand scooped, my partner got some of that and tried it and it was completely freezer burnt. So needless to say we won't be back, but it was I guess. Guess interesting to check out a local spot that I've been curious about. 3/10 won't try again and wouldn't recommend.

They took over the spot and also it looked like an additional space next door that seemed like an a To Go or order pick up space, connected by a connecting door space. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, around 3:00 pm. One table eating in and another waiting. You step to the counter to order, there was one guy explaining the menu and answering the questions we had, and a guy on the register. I connected the dots when reviewing the menu, a food genre with several different options. Steakburgers, Sandwiches, Loaded Potatoes, Salads, All Day Breakfast, Flatbreads, Fried Chicken and Wings, Mexican, Greek, Pasta, and Drinks. This is a lot of options, we are on a Fried Chicken kick so we did the fried chicken, half chicken with a biscuit, and boneless wings tossed in wing sauce. We took the order to go and tried the boneless wings before driving away. I was afraid they were going to have thick, crusty, and dense breading but the breading was thin, crispy, and really good. The sauce was the right amount and not too much. The ranch dressing was ok; I didn't use it after trying it. We had a long trek home after a couple more pit stops so we reheated the regular fried chicken in the air fryer before digging in. It was pretty good. The biscuit was ok, wasn't sure if it was homemade or not. We will definitely stop in again when we are in the area. Staff was friendly and helpful and several tables if you want to dine in.

We enjoyed the quieter atmosphere and being able to easily carry on conversations. Since it was our first visit, we ordered a variety of menu items. We started with the chicken nachos, which were generously portioned and great for sharing. For our entrées, we tried a large pizza, the Crispy Double with fries, the Chicken Bruschetta with loaded fries, and the fettuccine Alfredo. The standout dish for me was the Chicken Bruschetta, and the fries were easily one of the best things we ordered. The pizza was decent but could have used more sauce, and while the burger was good, it wasn't particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the fettuccine Alfredo was a disappointment--the sauce was extremely thick and heavy. If we return, we'll likely stick to the simpler menu items, especially the fries and shakes, which seemed to be the restaurant's strengths. Our server provided excellent service, and the restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained. Overall, there were some hits and misses, but the fries and friendly service left the best impression.
