I have been going to Alexa since she started her career in beautifying hair (that's 15 years). She continues to amaze me with her technique, her knowledge of hair care, her ability to know exactly what I need (even when I don't know), and her amazing journey to hone her craft. I always leave the salon feeling like a million bucks. She makes me feel current but not trendy, youthful but still my age. She has perfected my "money piece" and I love it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Didn't want to write this-- and I left two messages at the salon asking them to rectify the situation or I would need to write something on Yelp--but no response.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I thought I would look for a salon closer to my home and avoid the 45 minute drive to Newport Beach. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I left a message for the owner and she called me back. She was lovely and told me she really wasn't taking on new client, but she just got back from maternity leave and had an opening[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. She did alert me to the fact that she required 50% up front--which I thought was strange, but fair. I made an appointment for a few days in advance, then immediately got an invoice for $130+ dollars. This was for a partial weave--meaning the weave was roughly $270....that's more than I already pay by $70. I called her and cancelled. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is now two months later and at least once a week I get the same invoice---over and over again. I have left messages, sent emails--to no avail[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Alexa and Malia gave me an incredible brunette color that I love! They listen to what you want, take into account your lifestyle and make great suggestions. For example, I have to wear my hair gelled back into a tight bun for work, so Alexa suggested a deep conditioner and a more blended brunette so it would be lower maintenance for me. I followed her and then messaged her using the automated questions that pops up. Kyle is the only person I will let touch my hair 2 weeks before my wedding. I wanted something very very subtle (different than my first appt- see first photo and previous review) and this man spent 4+ hours making sure that my balayage looked like I just naturally had these amazing highlights in my hair (see photo on wedding day).
