Just left the park and restaurant. This review is of the service for the restaurant. While the food was tasty...the service was pretty bad. Waitress did not bring enough menus, or silverware (at all) and napkins (at all)...I had to ask a young boy who was rolling silverware for some, who was inside the restaurant and we were seated on the patio. Waitress got my order wrong (didn't come check on us so I had to run in back in) and our toddler's food (who's was also wrong) didn't even come out until after mine was corrected! We waited on the check...and got fed up...and went to stand at the server's station. There only seemed to be one person who even knew anything about the service industry or how to print a check. She was being pulled in all directions. A cook, the bar tender, and servers doing their check out all urgently needed our server while she was helping me with our check trying to fix the first waitresses mistakes. I'm totally about second chances, but it's probably gonna take a while. I'll just try to enjoy the season pass I bought at the pools. read more

Not too much to do for the preschool and under set Though we still had a fun time there last summer with free corporate passes, I am not sure that I would return with my children to Volente Beach this summer because the ticket prices are so high relative to what my kids can do there. (I would go in a heartbeat on someone else's dime.) In closer proximity, Veterans Memorial Pool that opened in 2008 in Cedar Park offers almost as much fun as Volente Beach does for preschoolers and toddlers for a fraction of the cost ($5 for adults, $2 for children 3 and up) as compared to the $19.99 and $14.99 ticket prices at Volente Beach. Round Rock's Rock'n River Family Aquatics Center charges only $3 for adults and $2 for children with as much to offer for the littlest kids, more than Veteran's Memorial. This waterpark has a fenced in area with a pirate ship complete with tunnels and water slide atop a shallow pool for the littlest kids. I did like that there was a Volente Beach attendant to monitor just young children going into this area. My kid loved the pirate ship. She probably could have played an hour just on this water structure alone. Further down the park is an area with an elongated pool (retro 60s style) called the Lazy Lagoon that has a frog slide for young kids. There is also an umbrella structure with water cascading down that is common in quite a few of the newer neighborhood owned pools. There is another area called "Alligator Crossing" with floating structures that kids can attempt to walk across the water, but preschoolers are probably too small for this attraction. It is better suited for elementary aged and older kids. The youngest kids can also go down to the beach area and build sandcastles. They most likely cannot swim out to the inflatables down in the beach area so beyond the sand and shallow shore, there is not much for the kids to do down there. That's about it for the littlest ones. We arrived at the park before it opened, and already the parking was filling up. The parking lots are also on hilly, uneven ground so if you do get here late, you have to park a good distance away, making the trek difficult with kids and gear. There were more adults arriving with their ice chests than kids, it seemed. I think that this park would be the most fun for 20-somethings who want to lie out on "the beach" to catch a bit of sun, drink some beer, throw back a burger or two, and hang out with their friends with a beer buzz going while they caught a few water rides without having to trek all the way to New Braunfels for Schlitterbahn. This would also be great fun for teenagers. Down by the beach, there are cabanas which can be rented for parties, and these are where we saw some families setting up shop for birthday parties, mostly for tweens. If you do want to try Volente Beach Waterpark with your little ones, save some money and use a coupon because without a bit of money savings, I just don't feel like this place offers enough for the littlest kids for the high ticket price. read more

we went towards the end of summer and were only wanting to stay half day. When found out still had to pay full price for half day with a 4 year old and 18 month old, we left. Way too expensive to expect a family with little one's to pay for a full day! I don't know what it's like inside, looks like tons of fun, so that's why I am giving it only 1 star for now. read more

Fantastic. I made reservations for10-12. However, 19 of us showed up for dinner-almost all from Houston. Our server was wonderful. She made us all laugh as well as soon learned our names and called us by name. The food was suburb. None of us had even a tiny complaint. We came for Jaws on the water with food and drinks included. Hopefully the refund will hit the account this month. The place was overcrowded and dirty. Food options were burgers, dogs, sausage wrap or chopped beef from a food truck where no one bothered wearing gloves to serve or handle the food, Or a very nice lady serving fajita fixings from chafing dishes that were left open for the flies to work on their tans ( she was also serving with no gloves). By the time we choked down some food (the coke was in cans so that was ok) the water sectioned off for sitting in tubes to enjoy the movie was overflowing with too many people and then they were kind enough to tell us that there would be no life guards on duty in case, god forbid, something happened and someone got hurt. This was perhaps the most disappointing Austin experience I've had in the 8 years I've lived here. The concept is a good one which is why there's one star but this place definitely failed on the execution and safety for everyone who paid good money for the chance to see a classic and enjoy some time at the lake. read more

This is a wonderful family joint to come to. It is also very nice if you are any age, there is a bar and also a grill to eat at. the lifeguards are very attentive and the staff if always willing to help you. price isnt bad at all especially for it being a water park. plenty of places for the kiddos to play as well as adults to enjoy! give it a try, youll love it! read more

The most gross, unsafe, expensive, piece of crap "waterpark" I've ever seen. The slides don't work, the pools are gross, and everything is pretty much broken and a hazard. The lake attraction blow up slide had holes in it and deflated as people played on it. 2 out of the 4 waterslides were extremely slow and sometimes required the person riding to physically push themselves down. My kids and I all got cuts and scraps on our backs from riding the waterslides. And not to mention the pumps for the waterslides went out at one point for several hours leaving us to just swim around and just wait for them to turn back on. We LOVE this place! I can't imagine how people are giving it one or two stars. OK, if you're a teenager and into having 45 different rides at your disposal then perhaps this FAMILY OWNED biz is not for you. Do you have children and like a clean, safe place for them to have fun? This is the place. I have a 5 year old and we let him run around by himself the whole time. Good, old-fashioned family fun with very nice owners and lifeguards. The food is crappy, but big surprise there. We bring our own and then splurge on some ice cream or candy crap as a treat. We also love that they use the lake water so no horrible chlorine skin residue when you leave the place. read more

Volente WAterpark hired my daughter (who was very proactive and applied well before summer) and she has worked only 2 days! Two days does not a job make!! She has now tried to find another job but it's now the middle of summer. If you think the waterpark facilities are bad, don't even think about working there- they offer you a job then you only work a couple of hours a month. Is this any way to teach good moral work ethics to those who do the right thing?!! read more

We brought a 6-year old who is a beginning swimmer. There were no rides I felt safe putting him on. There were no slides we could go down together, except one called the sidewinder. This one looked like if you let go of the handles on the innertube, you would fall off and likely break something. Not for 6-year olds. He was too big for the toddler area, too small for everything else. They were nice enough to give us a refund, with no questions or hassles. Wonderful day at the park! I went with my daughter and her best friend (eleven year olds) We all had such a great time. There was never a wait for the waterslides (and the Sidewinder was THE BEST waterslide I've ever been on...and I've been to Schlitterbahn) It was great getting to hang out in the lagoon style pool reading and relaxing while the girls ran around on the slides and obstacle course. I admit, if it had just been my daughter and myself, we probably would have been bored after about 2 hours, but just make sure your kid has a friend to play with, and they will have a great day! Getting discount tickets at Randalls and bringing our own food made it a really inexpensive way to spend a whole day out with two kids. I honestly don't understand the negative reviews on here, unless for some reason you think you are going to a huge waterpark. Its not huge, but if you live in Austin, this is a really nice summer get-away day. Cool water, a beautiful view of the lake, kids having fun...I couldn't have planned a nicer day! read more

I just dined here for the first time and this would have been a great review about the food and experience, but unfortunately it won't be. The food was good, I will say that, and the two waitresses that came over and played with our chihuahua were very nice and accommodating. However, one of the owners (older maybe late 40s, early 50s with blonde hair) was extremely rude, condescending, and unnecessarily acerbic with her tone toward us about the very dog they allowed into their establishment. While I can completely understand from a business perspective, there are dos and don'ts, they should be respectfully communicated to their customers. My friend took the pup to walk on the grassy area to stretch her legs because she's a service dog in training and got tired of sitting while we ate. But the older server came and very rudely addressed us about it. How you treat customers shouldn't change whether it's their first time or 7th time. We were pleasant, spent a good deal of money here and bothered no one. I honestly hope that it wasn't because I'm Hispanic and my other friend is black, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if that was the case. The friend that invited us here is Caucasian and has been here several times, so it just came across really appalling. To add, she's one of the owners, and did all this in front of other people. No person, let alone disabled veterans, should be treated this way ever. Again, the other two waitresses were very nice and apologetic when we told them what happened. Edited to respond to Adam's comment: I appreciate you responding and it seems you have better business sense than your co-owner. She yelled this to us in a nasty admonishing tone from the stairs while we were seated at a table about 20 feet away. That is not how you communicate to your customers. This should have been handled by her coming over to our table and telling us within close proximity, so as to not make a scene, which she did singlehandedly. We kept our cool and still responded with kindness bc we genuinely didn't know the rules and were apologetic. Meanwhile she was yelling from the stairs. In the military we are taught to praise others in public and punish in private, because that's good personal communication and good business sense. No one, even an owner, should embarrass a client that way or even their own staff that way. It's abhorrent. I went for a 4th of July and all I can say is that the pool's water looked nasty !. If you're single this is NOT the place to go. I also went to one of the inside restaurants and the food was extremely overpriced and mediocre. I would definitely not recommend this place !!!!! read more

If you have kids under 14, take them to Rocking River off 79 (behind the Dell Diamond) in Round Rock; its city run and well maintained [$5 ea]. Its great for young kids; and BTW tweens like to sun & socialize there. If you have teenagers, bite the bullet and your plastic and take them to Shlitterbaun (New Braunfels). If you need something more exciting than Rocking River and closer/cheaper than Shlitterbaun, you can try VB. The Pirate Ship area is great for little kids, the larger pool and rides are great for the Tween set. PROS: -- If you arrive at 3 or 4pm you can get in for $12/ea. for 3-4 hours. -- Great venue for 4th of July fireworks. -- WHEN OPEN - Cabana bar is good, its an ok place for adults to hang out while kids play. -- My experience with the life-guards has been that they are everywhere and attentive. (yes - on the slides they sometimes make weird and inconsistent decisions - so if a kid is told they cant ride a slide, just wait until the LGs change out and go back!) -- Yes it sux to pay $5 for parking, but at least you wont get towed - and it is a very short walk to the park entrance. -- The "Taco slide" (aka Sidewinder) is the best ride - and something that neither RR or SB have. The Texas Twister is fun too - but I agree the incoming tunnel ride for it is Too Short! -- The volleyball courts often have a game going on - JIC you need some exercise. -- Food and booze are reasonably priced (cheaper than SB by far!) -- Good place for tweens to meet others (btw guys - usually girls outnumber boys) -- The lake water is filtered - most of the dirty color is sand from kids feet and shorts. -- Very convenient for anyone living in Round Rock, Georgetown, "North Austin" area. CONS: -- Too far -for too little- if you live South of where 183 and 35 intersect (or 2222). -- Since 2006 the drought has made the "beach area" a rocky, muddy mess. -- What used to be 'free parking' on the side roads have been turned into Tow Away zones. -- The buildings and other facilties are Old and Worn - the owners need to invest in a Major "touch up". -- In the main mens bathroom there is only one toilet stall. But porta-potties are near the Cabana bar and there are small bathrooms in the bar next to the enclosed restaurant. -- Grill food items are about $3 (on average) more expensive than it should be! -- The enclosed restaurant has been "upscale" - but now you cant go in during the day with (wet) swimwear on. It used to be the only place to get some AC on 100+ days!. IMHO - they wasted money on this trying to make a facny reastaurant for the people staying in their cabins. -- The Cabana bar is shut down for repairs - for a YBD time!?!? (@ Aug 2013) -- The Cabana bar Margarita and Mai Tai machines seem to Always be broke! -- The enclosed slides are Too SLOW - not enough water spray and not enough "slope" this has been a problem for at least 5 years! -- 80% of Staff are late-teenagers, the rest are in early 20s. Often hard to find the 1 or 2 two active managers (altho one guy (Richard?) seems to always be there - a good thing). -- Much less "lifeguards" than used to be present - and they do not wear the cute blue or red "lifeguard" swimsuits anymore (i.e. unless you see them in a LG seat its hard to tell Who the guards are! -- It is a good 30-minute rolling drive from the Lakeline mall area. Its pleasant once you have done it a few times. But use an WWW map service to plan your trip. -- Call ahead if you have any questions - the web site is not always complete or uptodate. read more

Don't waste your money. The park is falling apart, the slides barely work, and the staff could care less. The two "big" water slides weren't working the entire time we were there. One was closed simply because they didn't have enough lifeguards and the other because the water kept shutting off. For $20 a person, this place is a total rip-off. read more

It's a great place to experience but it really has to work on safety. I really like the smallness of this place. You don't have to battle crowds and it's great not to have chlorinated water. I went there for a child's birthday party and everyone seemed to enjoy it. But three of us were hurt after going on two of the rides, and all incidents could have been prevented if the staff offered some information about what to do. The two rides I would watch out for are the whirlpool ride where you are spit out like a gumball in this big round thing. One of our kids hurt his elbow which could have been prevented had there been a sign (put in a noticeable place) saying to fold your arms or put them by your sides (I only know about this because Schlitterbahn has good signage about doing that). There is another ride which is an enormous ramp and you start by free-falling down into it. My daughter hit the back of her head going down and when I went down my head whipped back with great force. I was told later that there was a sign saying to hold your head forward but none of our group noticed it the first time they went. I was really surprised that the staffer at the top never advised me of this even though it was obvious from my questions to her that it was my first time. Finally, the other two tube rides did not have enough water in them so we had to scoot ourselves along to get out of the tubes. read more

Beware! Do not rely on the lifeguards to watch your children at Volente Beach. During our visit this week two of the lifeguards were "too hung-over after their homecoming dance" (according to another lifeguard), so instead of watching the pools, they both sat with their heads down, buried in their arms. When someone from our group mentioned their concern to another staff member, they reassigned a "hungover" girl to watch the main pool, where she reclined in the lifeguard post and fell asleep (her eyes were facing the sky, not the pool). An hour before the park closed, she stood up and walked away, leaving the pool completely unattended. No one took over her post. There were four lifeguards standing near another smaller pool, but they were chatting with their backs turned towards the kids in the pool. On one of the tall water slides, another lifeguard wasn't paying attention, and he sent another kid down the same slide my son was on, causing the second kid to crash into my son halfway down. It would be better if Volente Beach posted a sign saying "No lifeguards on duty," so that parents will not have a false sense of security and leave their kids unattended in the water. read more

We went today for the first time and thought this water park was just perfect for our 5 year old and 2 year old boys. The 5 year old did the tall chute and tube slides, Flash Flood and Roadrunner, over and over. He just loved it. He did the sidewinder only once as the angle of the drop scared him. He loved the Gator's Crossing rope balancing area. He was not tall enough to ride the tube slide, Texas Twister. The 2 year old loved just floating around in the Gator Crossing and Lazy Lagoon pools. The pirate ship has 2 slides and a tube to crawl through. He loved it. The 5 year old loved the pirate ship too (even though he was technically too tall to be in that area). I loved the fact that there was a lot of shaded picnic table areas to set our cooler and belongings. I thought it was awesome that we could bring in our own food and drinks. The parking lot also had a lot of shaded areas so our car wasn't blazing when we left to go home. We stayed for 4 hours, but the kids would have loved to have stayed much longer. We got our tickets that morning from Randalls. So, instead of paying $21 each, we paid $16 each. The 2 year old was free. read more

Went to Volente Beach Water park yesterday. It was my second time there. First time was fun and this time, mostly so. The staff was friendly. The other patrons were fun too. Water volleyball with strangers and the slides were enjoyable. We wish there were more rides there esp one that would take advantage of the great hill that this place is on. Now for the less than desirable parts of the trip. The water guns facing the sidewinder did not work and when they finally did, the sprayed muddy water. The flash flood was neither a flash nor a flood. It was slow going down and needed more water. We kept getting stuck and had to shimmy ourselves down. Also the rides need work. Our backs were stung repeatedly going down because the pieces of the pipes were uneven. The worst part was the grill. We waited an hour and 15, 20 mins for fries. Thats it! Just fries! The bartenders were nice and all. But the kitchen was ridiculous. Im fact it sounded like they may have forgotten. I paid $5 for what was a small, oily, and unsalted order fries. So so disappointing! Will never go there again! I will say if anyone decides that they want to go, usw groupon only. Most definitely not worth full price! read more

My girlfriend and I visited Shore Club on Sunday 4/30/17. We had the best experience in a restaurant we have had in months. The bartender was excellent. My girlfriend asked her to make her a drink that wasn't too strong but sweet...she prepared a drink that we both thought was great. Then she suggested an appetizer, chicken nachos, which also was amazing!!! We sat out on the deck and enjoyed the scenery as well as the conversation we had with the bartender. The reviews that give this place 4 and 5 stars must come from the owners. It would be like rating McDonalds as a 5 star restaurant. Kids can definitely have fun here, just like a free community pool. It's the price, even with discounts that makes this place ridiculous. We paid about $35 after tax for my son and I, plus $5 to park. Rock N' River costs us $10 total and has just as much to do and is cleaner. I could have used the extra $30 to take him to a 3D movie and ice cream afterwards. Volente Beach is an absolute joke. If those 4 and 5 star reviews were real, then wow. Those people are welcome to run through my sprinkler for $10, cause dollar for dollar it's about the same value. read more

Park is ran mostly by kids and individuals under 24 years of age, no real adult prescience was seen. Poor coordination with food & drink lines, I waited 30 min in line for a beer. Cash and credit cards were laid across the bar for all to see and steal. There is 1 bathroom with 3 stalls for the entire park, be prepared to wait in line again. Valet service is managd by 18yr olds that took my car for a spin and burned out my tires. When I confronted management about being ferris-buellered she acted like she was tired and could care less. I barely got an apology from the kid, the manager said nothing. Not worth the $ or drive. read more

Ran by a bunch of minimum wage minors that could care less about your well being. We were shoved off of the sidewinder water slide and me and my son almost flipped over as we dropped off the gigantic half pipe water slide. Shortly after, my youngest son who's just over 4 foot and wading in the bottom level pool. As I glanced over, he appeared to have walked into a drop off where his head became submerged. He is a non swimmer and I saw him begin to panic. If his older brother weren't there to help him out then things could have gotten bad. I ran over to assist and pull him out. He was real shaken up, as was everyone else in the pool watching my son almost drown. However, the lifeguard in the chair was oblivious the whole time. Staring off into the distance. Probably thinking of what he's going to do for the rest of his summer break. When I confronted him, he got defensive and insisted the water levels were consistent. I spoke with management and she said they were aware of the water slide hazard (due to water pressure problems?) but didn't know of any water depth inconsistencies. She offered me some free tickets, clearly not listening when I told her I will never be back. This place is over crowded, dirty, and has horrible service. Moreover, it is a safety hazard and lawsuits waiting to happen. I will monitor the news and be ready to testify when a fatal accident occurs. read more

I can't believe all the negative reviews either! We love this place. The water at the park is fed by the lake ..no nasty chlorine and a great temperature. There's a wonderful spot for the smaller crowd - a HUGE pirate ship with wading pool all around it. There's a large pool at the other end of the property that is about 4 ft. all around. Three slides and some crazy ride that allows you plunge down a big wave thing on a raft. Tons of lifeguards. You can bring your own food and beverages which is great because you can save money and also avoid the crappy junk food that most of these parks offer. They have a sweet beach front spot and a big inflatable climb-on thing out there when the lake is high enough. This is just the sweetest old-fashioned family-owned place. I just can't understand how someone would feel ripped-off here! I've never heard anyone say anything bad about it, ever! I know tons of people that go all summer and LOVE it. We get season passes all year. oh, and it's hardly ever crowded...busy, but never lines like Shlitter or Rockin River (with the meanest lifeguards in town .. ugh.) read more

I don't really understand the negative reviews. If you look at their website, read any reviews and go there not expecting anything comparable to Schlitterbahn, your family will have a blast. Our group consisted of two adults, a 9 year old, a 12 year old, a 16 year old and a 19 year old. I thought for the price we paid for tickets at Randall's (16.23 including tax), plus $5.00 for parking, it was well worth it. There are 4 rides, that is it and that is all they claim to have. The rides were awesome! The Sidewinder is the best and the one we did over and over. Two people are in a tube and you start off at the top of a steep, giant u-shaped slide and go down and then up the other side and back up to the top again. A thrilling ride! Then there is the Texas Twister where you go down a chute into a "bowl" where you go around like you are in a whirlpool until you drop down through the center into the water. The other two are slides; one is an open slide and the other is a dark, enclosed chute slide. There is a kiddie section with a small pool and some little slides and there is a pool for older kids and adults with a volleyball net and swim up bar, which is where we took breaks from the rides to relax. None of the rides ever had more than 5 minute lines, so we were able to ride all the rides many, many times. The 16 and 19 year olds loved the rides but were ready to go after a couple of hours, but the rest of us could have stayed there all day. We took a cooler with our own food and drinks and didn't buy and food there so I don't have an opinion of that. Make sure you don't take glass because they check your cooler at the gate. Just remember, it is not Schlitterbahn, there will be a lot of kids there and you will not be disappointed. We will definitely go back there next summer and will probably buy the season passes. You cannot beat the proximity of the place and the low priced tickets. read more

This place is absolutely terrible! Please do not waste your money. First of all, the place is run down and old with nasty green water filled with dirt and leaves. The water in the lake looked cleaner than what was in their pools. Second of all the whole place is run by teenage lifeguards who are too busy on their phones and socializing with each other than to pay attention to anyone in the park. Their rides are not fun nor safe. Coming down the anti gravity slide we were not given any instructions on what to do or not to do and so coming down in the back of the tube i smacked my head against the slide which resulted in extreme pain and a night in the ER. Their water slides don't even have enough water so you get stuck about half way down and have to push yourself down. Their website is misleading advertising of a swim up bar (that was empty and filthy) and a bar side grill which wasn't even open. Not to mention if you want to ride the anti gravity slide there is only 1 tube in the whole park so good luck fighting with others for it. With that being said i would rather spend money at a public pool than go anywhere near this place! read more
