The only reason I can see for the board not allowing an interview is unfortunately racism or ageism. Both of which are protected classes under the Federal Fair Housing Act of 1968. The building is kept very clean and it's very secured. The neighbors are very quiet, polite, and respectful. I haven't seen anyone loitering in or around the building. I keep my two vehicles parked in the street. So far I haven't had or heard of any vehicle break-ins. I love the location. With the I-87 just a few blocks away, Manhattan is approximately 5 minutes away (feels like I never left Manhattan!!) and it's very easy to get anywhere within minutes. Whenever I don't feel like driving, I can still walk to Fordham Road and get everything I need since it's so close and full of all types of stores. My apartment is very well maintained. The rooms are very spacious and very intelligently designed. Did I mention how much I love the balcony? It's bigger than it looks in photos. With the view I get from there, I feel like I have my own personal rooftop lounge!! I'm in love with it!! Lastly, management quickly takes care of any issues I have. It shows they really care about their tenants. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that I very often order things from Amazon and have it delivered at my door. That is never an issue.

Fortunately, we had dated photos of the apartment showing it was in the same shape as when we moved in a few years prior, and we were able to get most of our deposit back after a lot of back and forth. If you're a tenant in one of their buildings, I highly recommend documenting the condition of the apartment when you move in (missing screens in windows, small chips or scrapes, etc.). Otherwise, they will make every effort to keep your security deposit.
