There was some sketchy people sitting in their cars the whole time and no joke a homeless dude at the bottom of the bowl when I got there. The pool is open from June 6- August 5 and the cost to use it is $1, though you can buy season passes for $50 or a 30 day pass for $30. There are lessons offered for an additional fee, call 392-2034 for more info. The pool is open to the public from 2:00-4:30 M-F. From 9:00 am-12:30 pm the pool is only open for private lessons and from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm for group lessons. There are also two lighted softball diamonds for day or night games, a large grassy field with plenty of shade, and even separate play structures for children young and old to play on over beds of bark to cushion falls. There is a large covered picnic area with tables and barbecue grills for summertime get togethers. The female restrooms were clean and well stocked with toilet paper and the people using the park seemed to be mostly families with young children.

That left skateboarding to open roads and the occasional school parking lot. Once the Wasco Skatepark opened that changed everything! While there's not much shade, this skatepark does include most everything a skater would need. Including a quarter pipe and/or halfpipe, handrails, funboxes, banks and more. It's generally very busy on weekends, but the vibe is chill and enjoyable.

From a non-scooter parent point of view the facilities were great. Clean, kept up and much bigger in person that what you see online. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Customer service is vital for a good review and they had it. They offer accommodations for overnight stays but we opted for a local Airbnb for our family's needs. From a scooter (or skate) point of view Woodward really is one of the best. There are so many parks within the complex for every level of ability. You can see from my pictures the variety they offer both indoor and outdoor. If you have a rider/skater in your family, it's a must go on your list of places to visit. Several covered areas with grills for hang outs and parties. There are plenty of pathways for riding, skating, walking or running. This place is an awesome quiet spot. When the weather cools down, you will find this park life start popping with the neighbors from the surrounding neighborhood. My family frequents this spot for working out or just getting out of the house. It is always a good time In the cooler months of spring and fall, the local neighborhood throws a monthly pop up shop for the small businesses at home. It is typically on the first Saturday of the month. If you are in the area, stop in and support local Small businesses.

Once the disco lights started and the pace picked up, the environment felt much less safe. Some skaters were going very fast and weaving around children who were clearly beginners. It became stressful rather than enjoyable, especially for younger or inexperienced skaters. It might be helpful to offer separate skate times, one for beginners and intermediate skaters and another for more proficient or advanced skaters- to make the experience safer and more enjoyable for everyone. Overall, it has a lot of potential and could be a fantastic family-friendly spot with a few adjustments to skating flow and safety.

We've been here for birthdays and they were very successful and the children just loved themselves. The parents that paid for the birthday said it was very good price per child. My husband likes getting a pizza and some of the other foods from the snack bar. They have these really cool plastic walker things that let the kids skate holding on if they don't know how to skate. If you find a group to go with the group rates are pretty good. It's not the cheapest play date because you pay for the skating and you pay for the skate rental. But definitely worth it.
