I had a couple of board dings and reading that any open ding can impact the long-term durability of my new surfboard, I had 3 options: 1. Put in some SolarCrap (always a short-term measure) 2. Have it professionally repaired ($50-75) 3. Head to Blue Room and learn how to fit it myself, while fixing it myself for $50 If I were stupid, lazy or both, a forth option is do nothing. I am glad that 3 is my lucky number and I drove out a little further than my local repair store for the Blue Room experience. I found Mitch's dedication to quality and community refreshing and his business practice thrives with aloha. The processing of learning how to fix the board was super cool. The icing on the board, so to speak, was some excellent dark beer after a great fix up job. I found it such a great experience that I ended up buying a really cool board there too that another of his customers had recently made. Please feel free to bring good quality beer with you and sure Mitch will partake after getting your hands dirty working on your board. But everyone was so friendly and helped me and my family learn to paddle. They have everything set up there: beautiful single and double hulled canoes, paddles for all sizes, even a tent for you to rest and socialize. They are such a fun group to be with and paddle together. I didn't write a review until now since it has been more than a year since I last joined this activity. I LOVE COMING HERE AND PADDLING WITH the New Hope Ohana! Missed you guys and coaches! Any Saturday I feel like coming, I just come and I don't have to worry about anything. Never in my life I will forget this hike. It's where my iphone dropped in 6ft saltwater and was…read moreable to retrieved it after more than an hour chilling down with waves crashing on big boulders around it. Until now, I can't believed I moved those big rocks and was able to used the same phone doing this l review here on Yelp. Kaiwi shoreline trail is a pretty easy hike to do mostly dirt and no shade along. My bald head got sunburned the next day coz the sun is shining so bright at that time and it was humid as well. But luckily it was a shoreline trail so at the end of it I was able to cool off myself in a small lagoon we found at the very tip of the hike. Having a huge boulders around helped us protected away from those raging enormous waves crashing on. So it was a sweet awesome spot for me and the fact that only me and my wife are the only human swimming on that spot. On the other side of the beach I've seen a group of folks diving and snorkeling so I guess it's the spot to go snorkeling too? I've seen couples and a family doing picnic here under the shade which give me the idea to come back and bring my poke from Foodland and some refreshments to cool us off next time. A tip from Yarman: Do not ever use your phone while in water coz Goddess Nāmaka might take it out of the blue. Next thing you know, your phone will slip down in between those big boulders and will end up grabbing a can grabber back home! LoL. It was an experienced I cannot ever forget. I enjoyed the hike, the saltwater and above all , I was rejoicing as I retrieved my phone enjoying down in the ocean for a quite awhile. See yah later...

This trail is located on the right side before the start of Makapuu lighthouse trail. Have been…read morehere a couple times and usually not very busy compared to the lighthouse trail. There's a few different pathways going toward the ocean, some people like to swim there but it's usually pretty rocky and dangerous waters here so I wouldn't recommend unless you're a strong swimmer. Popular for fishing too. No bathrooms or showers located here. P.S. it is rocky during the first part of the trail so I recommend wearing shoes so you don't twist an ankle or lose your slippa like I've seen others. Otherwise, it's pretty casual nature walk to enjoy on the east side. Enjoy!

He found this park through our GPS and decided to check it out. The first thing that really caught my attention is how much PARKING was available. If you drive in Oahu, you know parking is a never-ending struggle and this park had plenty of spots. The park is really large with enough space for camping, picnics, etc. The park does offer two beaches. One of them is more open to the ocean which is perfect for anyone looking to surf, and the other side is more protected, creating a nice little bay for small kids to play. Since we had our little one with us, we stayed on the more tamed side and had a blast. Also you get an amazing view of the famous Chinaman's Hat from this park. Highly recommend exploring this regional park on your next trip to Oahu!

Don's passion for the topic actually resulted in a three-hour course, equally split between water and 'classroom' work. She loved it. The course met exactly what she was looking for, and delivered with the expertise expected of an experienced professional. No parking in the little turn around area in front of the entrance. Be respectful of property owners or you'll see more & more No Parking signs going up. No shade. No facilities. Short, relatively easy access to the "beach"? Maybe 100 yards to the water? It's a flat rocky "shoreline", no sand! Just a little scramble down onto the flat rock "table" that is popular with the local daredevils who jump at their peril into the enticing waters below. Fun to observe but unless you know what you're doing (how to watch the ocean and time your ingress & egress correctly) you are gonna get hurt. Saw some people fishing, but didn't appear to be catching anything. My wife noted, "I'd really like to see someone catch something sometime. We always see lots of people fishing, but never anyone catching anything." I conquer with her assessment. I think a lot of people stop at the market on the way home and point to a beauty in the glass case & then ask the merchant to please "toss" it to them so they can proudly announce to their wife & family in all truthfulness that they "caught" it. Personally, we were mesmerized by the crashing waves & spraying surf. Spent about an hour here before moving along to our next adventure stop.
