The maintenance guy and the front office staff were on the rude side. Like we were inconveniencing them. The location of the trash is right next to all the cabins and smells rancid. The cabins were not mopped clean family had 4 cabins and everyone complained about black feet from the floors. The beach was the highlight and it was nice they had several cabins to put us all together. If your going To the dunes to ride this camp isn't ride friendly.

The check in was easy, our host attendant , gave us clear instructions to our airstream. We were a bit confused the first day and evening about how to contact someone after hours. I kept getting the bot when I went on to the website. Finally when I googled Bay Point Landing General store, I found that part of the site. From then on it was a breeze to getting help. The airstream was well stocked. Dishware, glasses, utensils, cookware and cooking utensils. Linens were clean, we even had lovely doggy baskets for our pups. Complete with towels, dishes, treats, leashes and sheets to cover bed and sofa. They have activities everyday to attend. We did the happy hour the first night, it was very nice sitting looking over the water and enjoying a glass or two of wine. I was grateful for the broom that was in the airstream, sweep out the RV multiple times a day. The airstream comes with dish rags and dishes towels, but no dish soap you can purchase that at the General store. This is not glamping, as some reviews seemed to think. But it is a step above RVing in a state park. There are nice amenities and can make as many improvements as you want, but they cost. We were happy with the close proximity to the state parks, restaurants and grocery stores. We look forward to our next stay at Bay Point Landing.

Stay here is you don't mind being so close to another rig that you can probably hear them flush their toilet. It's basically a big parking lot with as many spots wadded in as possible, with white parking lines marking out each spot. We have a beautiful spot that backs up to the river. Ample place to enjoy the view, a fire ring and a picnic table. The grounds are impeccable-the camp hosts work hard to keep everything looking fresh. The bath houses are clean and up to date. The laundry facilities are ample. (No OHV allowed to be operated in the park. You must tow them out them start.)

The views can't be beat. The laundry and shower facilities are cleaned everyday by camp hosts. And, the camp hosts are SO helpful. There are NO long term RV's here. It seems that there just be a limit on how long you can stay before you might need to relate to another spot. The laundry is not over priced here. $2 to wash and $1.50 to dry. Last place it was $3 and $3. If you are looking for a in this area-this is it. It sets the bar very high.

The sites in the lower loop seemed fairly tight with limited privacy. The upper loop seemed a bit more private. Lots of shade throughout, facilities were clean (no dump station). We took the Lake Marie loop trail that evening. There seemed to be a few trees down recently, but the trail itself was in pretty good shape. You could also take the trail away from the lake to the dunes. Speaking of those, they're definitely close enough that the sounds of the buggies often reverberated through the entire campground into the night. It didn't keep us up, but it did affect the serenity of the lake.

Of course, we fell for the gimmick of a gift shop. Gifts for family were coffee mugs that said lighthouse on them, or keychains. But we also found a very Incredible Raincoat that was necessary for that trip that was only $42. That's a great price for what I got. Our vacation was covered in a horrible rain storm with wind and thunder. That raincoat was quite a blessing. It didn't break the bank. The people there were super nice and I would definitely go back on our next trip.

They've put some sort of mulch in the sites that is filled with prickly things that poke into feet so flip flops are a no go. Also not kid friendly. Permanent residents are unfriendly and the manager didn't like children riding their bikes around the park at 6pm with an adult chaperone.
