Headed to the beach from camp
Andrew C.

Normal size rv spaces, with full hookups or partial 30 and 50 amps. Showers restrooms tent and yurt spots. It was a great place for us to stay a night on our way south. With lots of trails and lots of beach front to comb for agates, or check out the light house. Very clean and well ran. I also enjoyed the early morning walk with wild turkey in the campground gobbling away.

One of my favorite campgrounds! Beautiful trails. Fairly private RV spaces. Close to a lighthouse, ocean and river!

It's close to Old Town Bandon, boat charters, the beach and other scenic spots. It doesn't have the amenities such as a pool, spa or golf, but when you go into the park, it has large grassy areas, lots of flowers and cute teapots decorating the wooden fence. The park is so peaceful that it is a great place to just relax. I spoke to Linda when booking who was very nice and helpful in getting the right space. They have wonderfully long pull-thru spaces giving you room to put a truck and a trailer together. The sites are not particularly wide but plenty wide for slides on each side and room to get by. There is a picnic table at the site and full hookups. There are also big beautiful trees lining the park which added to the beauty but made satellite TV impossible plus there was no cell service at site 4. This ended up making the visit more relaxing and enjoyable cutting off the stress of the world.

Streets don't go through they put sites on the streets so they dead end. You would think the fire marshal would have fun with this place. No open fire lanes. Some really positive things are really good wi fi, and water pressure.

My dog really enjoys running around and playing here. Once we are done on the beach there are plenty of trails for her to walk on and wildlife to see. She especially loves the birds and the turkeys. It's easy to spend 4 hours here daily just exploring and enjoying the water. It's fairly clean and safe since the beach is a decent ways away from the road. We haven't camped here or used the restrooms. We just enjoy the water and the trails. It's a perfect place for a picnic on a warm day and an excellent area to stretch your legs on a car trip.

We arrived late after dark and it was very easy to check in with no ranger present at the gate house. In the morning we awoke to find a beautiful campsite with easy access to the beach and the Coquille River Lighthouse. We met friendly RVers right next to us and I would gladly stay here again. Generally, Bandon doesn't get as much attention as some of the other spots up the coast, but I really liked it here. The beach is quiet and peaceful and, although it doesn't have the crazy rock formations that some others do, it is definitely worth a visit. The driftwood here was nuts!

The sites in the lower loop seemed fairly tight with limited privacy. The upper loop seemed a bit more private. Lots of shade throughout, facilities were clean (no dump station). We took the Lake Marie loop trail that evening. There seemed to be a few trees down recently, but the trail itself was in pretty good shape. You could also take the trail away from the lake to the dunes. Speaking of those, they're definitely close enough that the sounds of the buggies often reverberated through the entire campground into the night. It didn't keep us up, but it did affect the serenity of the lake.

They had the most delicious white chocolate sea salt caramels. The milk chocolate caramels were also delicious. They also had these big clusters of nuts and chocolate, which my husband adores. Of course, we fell for the gimmick of a gift shop. Gifts for family were coffee mugs that said lighthouse on them, or keychains. But we also found a very Incredible Raincoat that was necessary for that trip that was only $42. That's a great price for what I got. Our vacation was covered in a horrible rain storm with wind and thunder. That raincoat was quite a blessing. It didn't break the bank. The people there were super nice and I would definitely go back on our next trip.

I wanted to be close to town to enjoy the fabulous seafood in Port Orford. The campground is 2 miles up Elk River Road from 101. We have stayed in over 450 RV Parks while traveling full-time in a 42-foot coach. This was our first visit here staying three nights (site 38). (1) Dust, some parks are so dusty that even after just a couple nights your unit needs a bath, the dust on our coach was above average, this was because the sites are placed amongst beautiful pines trees. The roads are dirt, sand, and loose gravel, which did not help either. (2) Level pads, big coaches need paved or thick gravel pads that are level. We give this park 5-stars for the level pad, but only 3-stars because the pad consisted of loose gravel & dirt. This park has space very generous space between sites with trees and bushes between sites. Sites come equipped with a picnic table. Note: we did observe several sites that were not as level as ours. (3) We live in the age of WIFI technology and there is nothing to stop any RV Park across this country from investing in doing WIFI properly. For some users such as ourselves, WIFI is an important feature. This park receives 0-stars for their WIFI. The park did have wifi, but due to the many trees, you would need to be staying in a site near an antenna to receive a signal. Unfortunately, the site we were in, did not receive wifi. (4) Maneuverability, some parks have very narrow roads which make backing up and turning difficult, we found this park to be limited in the maneuverability department. The roads themselves were plenty wide, but the overhead tree limbs were an issue. We were staying in a pull-thru site but due to the tree limbs, we had to back-out and completely back the coach down the lane to avoid hitting the low limbs. The park staff are aware of the situation so hopefully they trim-up the lower limbs. (5) Satellite, as you know satellite reception is impossible to receive when there are large trees present. Forgot receiving satellite here, so many beautiful trees! (6) Phone Service, we have AT&T which did not work here. (7) Dog play and potty, plenty of space to walk your dog, but no designated poop/walk areas. Bring your own poop bags as none are provided. (8) This park is older, has only 30-amp sites and tall coaches need to beware of the low tree limbs. Despite that, the park is quaint and quiet and situated among beautiful trees. If quiet and solitude are what you are looking for, then this park would be perfect.
