Stayed in a cabin, they have the option to do an early check in listed on the website but don't seem to want to accommodate you if you're early. The maintenance guy and the front office staff were on the rude side. Like we were inconveniencing them. The location of the trash is right next to all the cabins and smells rancid. The cabins were not mopped clean family had 4 cabins and everyone complained about black feet from the floors. The beach was the highlight and it was nice they had several cabins to put us all together. If your going To the dunes to ride this camp isn't ride friendly. read more

Van camped here with my husband 5/22-5/24/2024. Checked in around 4 on Wednesday and the woman was nice. Gave us a map of the grounds and answered all our questions. We booked T10 a tent site beach front, we have a van but couldn't pass up beach front. The site was great, right on the beach, beautiful sand and water views, can't beat it. Seems other people weren't informed that there are tent sites ocean front because more than once people walked through or tried to walk through our camp site, mind you we had a stove, chairs, disc golf basket, towels, trash can, etc set up and people still tried to walk through our site to the beach. I originally booked this place and site for back in September with some friends but they couldn't come and the weather didn't permit us too, so we weren't able to cancel but we rebooked. This is one of our favorite RV parks. We've stayed here three times, so far, and we'll definitely be back again. There are a lot of things to like. First of all, the park is quiet. It's not near a busy road or highway, so there's almost zero road noise. Second, the walk to the beach is very short and easy. From anywhere in the park, you can hear the ocean. There aren't any bad spaces, as long as you skip the ones right at the entrance. The roads through the park can be a little confusing, so make sure to study the map before driving to your space. If it's not clear, just ask one of the employees. Our first time here, I drove our motorhome in circles once before discovering the hidden road I needed to get to our space. Water pressure is great, and spaces are all very level. The park is kept very clean. Wi-Fi is the best I've seen anywhere, with access points on poles throughout the park. You shouldn't have trouble getting connectivity regardless of where you're parking. The beach here is nice and flat, and if you walk to the south, there's a small beach with a cave in the rocks that is accessible as long as the tide isn't in. read more

Loved this location for walking on the beach. Our tiny house rental was spacious and well equipped for our needs. Bed was too soft, and pullout couch wasn't comfortable so we tried the big bed upstairs in the loft. It would be great for kids/teens, just not for adults due to low ceiling. Visit was August 22-25, 2021 2nd year in a row and I had a blast...again! It was nice to see the same person we met here last year. This just shows regulars visit the place frequently. Can you blame them. The place is amazing! It seems that everyone who visits is just kind to each other. We had our bikes and met others with the same brand and we chatted and then gave them some ideas of where they can ride their bikes (on the beach is the best!). If you didn't know, there is a private beach behind the campground. The are several short paths to get to it. Our site had EWS. It even had cable but our camper doesn't have the set up for it. Everything about this place is GREAT! We will be back again for summer 2022. read more

This is a very well maintained clean convenient campground. We have a 37 ft RV and all the site was really easy to get into. The staff is super nice and accommodating. We were basically the worst campers - we were places in space 2 which is less than optimal but it's because we didn't plan enough in advance. Immediately we discovered our electricity didn't work. Long story it was us not them but they were really helpful in figuring it out. We worked with them to move after the Memorial Day 2025 campers started leaving and ended up with an amazing spot right next to the ocean. But any space you get here is so close to the ocean and a lovely beach where you can easily get 2 miles in just walking to the jetty and back. Highly recommend this place. Two negatives tho: we arrived at 1:45 pm. Check in is at 2. We were literally right in front of our campsite which was empty and they wanted to charge us $30 for "early arrival". They eventually did not. And they don't enforce the no smoking rule. Lots and lots of outdoor smokers including our neighbors for the first 3 nights. 3 out of the 4 adults smoked constantly. Let me start off by saying I would stay here again in a heartbeat. From the customer service over the phone to book the reservation to the cleanliness of the park and the absolute beauty I give it five stars. I do not ever give five stars unless I am truly happy about my experience. It is not a huge park which is nice, the spaces are plenty wide. I loved all of the trees and the pathway to the beach and ocean which is literally two minutes walking. Walking on the beach and only seeing a handful of other people was very nice. There was plenty of space to spread your wings and let your dog run. The ocean was beautiful and there were some rocks that you can walk out on. Of course be careful as the tide rises quickly. If you cross over the large rock area there are some tide pools. I saw many people fishing and crabbing. I also saw people catching fish and crabs! The communal restrooms and showers were closed due to Covid, but that was not a big deal to us as we were self-contained. The office for check in has a very small general store. You can buy things like ice and snacks and drinks. There is also a town within a few minutes in case you forgot anything. Not to mention Coos Bay is not far either. read more

We stayed here last year in May 2019 for almost a week. The location is fantastic because you have access to the beach right from the park. We took our dogs on a walk there every day. The sand was soft, and we even did beach workouts. There were tide pools, and we had the beach to ourselves 80% of the time. However, some days it got super windy, but it wouldn't last the whole day. It would come and go in spurts. The wind in the city of Coos Bay is intense. At the time of our visit, the whole park wasn't very busy. But it was centrally located to a lot of outdoor activites. You're not far from the Oregon Sand Dunes. My favorite part was being able to walk onto the beach. I really loved the convenience of that. The best part was how empty the beach was. It seems like the company that manages the RV park in Buelton, Ca called Flying Flags is the same company managing this one. The park offers cottages as well for those who don't have their own trailers, fifth wheels, RVs, toy haulers, etc. I would stay here again. read more

Beautiful spot, however.... We were planning a family vacation here but will now cancel our plans. They charged us a late fee of $20 for checking out at 11:50 when an employee told us we had until noon. Price for one night in RV space turned out to be $58.48 in the off season. We were told that the owner posted the fee and there was nothing that could be done about it. We would have chosen to stay an additional night instead. We were told that this was an option which seems very likely due to the 70% approximate vacancy. WIFI Never did work. Great location, BUT.... This park was acquired by Sun Outdoors sometime last year. Too bad. since then the price has gone way up and many sites have gone the other way. Site 29 for example is not level, the graveling is minimal, the ground for tables and such is bare dirt and very uneven. In the event of rain it would be a mud pit! Construction on weekdays has heavy equipment running constantly back and forth with considerable noise. No warning was provided about this situation when booking or arriving. At $100 a night on average, this place is no bargain, even if these problems were not present. We have stayed here a few times in past years when the cost was in line with the quality of the experience. So much for Sun Outdoors. Like I said, a great location but, we won't be back. read more

I removed my previous review as it was not an accurate reflection of my opinion on recommendations for this RV Resort. I would not recommend this resort based on the price I paid for a 7 day stay. I paid $721 for the 7 day stay. It was explained to me that this was a "7 day stay" discount when I questioned why my 30% discount did not apply to my original booking. I did not notice this total price until I arrived. My mistake. I would not have paid that much for this place. We've been here before, but at discounted rates which made it affordable. (30% promo). The couple next to us checked their receipt and had a similar surprise. They paid more than what they thought they were paying. So it wasn't just my mistake. The space, #62, was considered a "deluxe drive through". It was not worth the rate. The spaces are crammed on top of each other and the picnic tables are placed next to sewage hoses. The spaces were not level and Internet, not so good. There are nearby RV resorts for far less in price, much better spacing and only a short walk to the beach. I strongly recommend that if you do choose to stay here, you call the desk before your departure and confirm your reservation to avoid any "clerical errors". I also strongly recommend making your reservation by phone, as well. Be sure you are receiving any discounts that you think you are eligible for, at the time of booking. Document. There are some spots that are pretty decent. I would ask for one of those. Ask for a site that you have space and not on top of the sewage hose. We will not be returning as we found a much less expensive place with nicer, cleaner spaces, and with a beautiful view. I would like to add, that customer service seemed to be lacking in hospitality. Also, rules are not enforced in this park, just an FYI. Note: Due to a clerical error, our site was double booked so we were asked to move, 2 days in. We were given almost a 50% discount for the inconvenience. On our last day in the new space, we were in another guests space for which they paid a lock box fee for. The fact still remains that the site would have been $721 for 1 week, had we not received the inconvenience discount. I do not see how $721 is a "7 Day Stay" discount. Very pricey. read more

Great location right off the beach. Very busy and looks to be full every night! Make sure you confirm site and lock in saw a couple be very disappointed they were in the concourse section which is by entrance. Clean grounds and well maintained. Nice bathrooms/showers (didn't use). Well staffed. Weather was foggy so can be damp and on the cold side. Short 15 min drive to Coos Bay. read more

I have been staying at the Oceanside RV Resort in CoosBay for years and since ownership changed the last visits I canceled due to Covid, I never received my refunds and have attempted on several occasions to get a return call to Rectify the situation without success. Most recently, I have been attempting to cancel a booking for this weekend and spoke to the Manager Ben and Brenden, 3 times and they have yet to cancel my reservation and refund my deposit. I received a confirmation that this booking is still active. So far this company has kept an estimated $400 in deposits if not more. I DO NOT recommend booking with the agency that has taken over. I seriously miss the personal touch and care that was placed prior to the agency taking over. I unfortunately will not be staying at this facility any longer for this reason. 8/4/21 was contacted by Ben Smyth, the Manager and received an email stating my reservation has been canceled and they will be refunding me via check. You cannot get any closer to the beach without being on it! Sites are nice and easy to get your RV into! The WiFi/cell service isn't great but it works and gets the job done. I would advise against upgrading to the paid wifi since the free works just fine. We had a great time and will be looking at coming back again next year! read more

This was such a wonderful surprise. I had never been to this part of the country and I was amazed at the beauty. Oceanside's beach is kept private so it did not feel touristy at all. Absolutely beautiful beach, forests, and hiking nearby. Lots of families and nature lovers. As far as the resort goes, it felt very safe, clean, with prompt, friendly, support from the staff. Excellent management. One of my favorite things was going "crabbing". Oceanside let me rent a crab pot very inexpensively and gave me some tips on how and where to crab. They even have a "cleaning station" outside so you can clean and cook your crab without getting your place smelly. I loved hearing the sea lions barking at each other off in the distance - so cool. We had the pleasure of staying 2 nights in an RV site. The grounds and facilities were well kept. We came at dust and they had an overnight box to check-in. Bathroom and showers were clean . It was 2 min walk to the amazing Oregon coastline and tidepools , which were quite desolate. They had a local musician come play on Friday and a food truck serving up tasty dishes. Just missing a playground for the kids to gather; albight almost perfect. read more

Reasonably priced spaces with 30 or 50amp service. Each site has level gravel parking pad. Grass area has fire ring with grill (bring wire brush) and a heavy duty composite picnic table. Full hookups including TV. Well forested and direct beach access. Centrally located bathrooms/showers. Average + WIFI. If coming from 101, instead of narrow twisty Libby Rd, drive into Coos Bay and take Commercial to Central to Ocean to 540 which goes all the way to the rv park. This is our favorite RV park on the coast, we usually always go in Winter, once a month for 5 nights. We loved the beach access and everything about it. Unfortunately, they recently raised their rates so high that it is no longer feasible to stay there. A back-in spot we used to get for the mid-40's is now up to 74 per night, plus a resort fee of 10 per night, plus taxes. We had our favorite spot, the people who work there always remembered us and greeted us fondly. We are sad, but we can't justify going there anymore, and we will no longer recommend it to our friends. Such a bummer. read more

Oceanside has in their policy that to get a refund you must cancel 7 days in advance. What they really mean is 8 days in advance because 7 only gives them 6 days to re-rent your space. We cancelled 7 days in advance and it wasn't good enough. We had to go up the corporate ladder and they said we used profanities to 5 different people. We didn't talk to 5 different people, we talked to a total of 4. I guarantee to you that we did not use profanities to them all, just 1 word to 1 person. My husband is hard of hearing and talks VERY loud. People assume he is yelling (ass u me). We finally got credited the full amount but we are banned from staying at any of the Sun Outdoor properties. Sun Outdoor properties are NOT a good company to deal with. Although we absolutely love this location, we NEVER want to deal with this company ever again. They made up lies as to why we lost our two weeks of credit to stay and wanted to give us another week of credit to stay. We refused to be bilked and stood up for our rights. The beach access is great. The ladies in the office went ABOVE AND BEYOND to be helpful and accommodating to our unique situation even during the busy season. If I could give them zero stars I would. I'm local and I surf. The former owners used to let us drop our boards down there so we wouldn't have to walk with them when the trail was muddy- not these guys. They threatened to call the Sheriff on my 10 year old son and I for trespassing when we were using the trail adjacent to the campground (which was not trespassing), they were just trying to be bullies. This is just what happened to me personally. More importantly and even more infuriating is the fact they are looting and destroying the beach to line their own pockets. Specifically, they illegally built a cabin on the beach and then they brought in jetty rock to build a wall to protect their illegally built structures. Oregon Parks and Recreation Dept took enforcement action. They've had to take enforcement action against them multiple times. I'm not sure if they were ever fined or if they met their deadlines, but the damage to the beach was done and can't be fully restored. Folks- there are many beautiful places to camp in the Coos and we are happy to welcome visitors, but please don't stay at Oceanside. This is a greedy corporation who wreaked havoc on a place that is sacred to us and for what? To make a profit off a public resource with no regard for the place they inhabit. read more

Have stayed here before. Loved it. This time we booked for two sites together with family. We were told all good. Not so much we were put on the first site. Almost in the road. Family down in campground. We were next to food stand. Ok let's have dinner, ask how late they were open and was told 6:30. At 5 we sent the guys over for 4 fish and chips and chowder. They only had 2 orders of fish and chips. Ok made do. Next night decide to order 2chowders Sign says be back in 30 min. Next sigh says be back in 10 min. Finally open send husband over for 2 chowders. They said no chowder tonight. The host was ok. Not really friendly just ok. We will probably not be back. Plus no WiFi. Sounds like a small problem but in 2019 not so much. read more

This is our first time staying at this property. It was recommended by friends. Overall, the park is nice... RV spots are a little close to each other so there is s real lack of privacy. There are tent spaces but those seemed a little small. Also for Renner are cabins up by the highway, furthest from the beach. I did like that there were a couple of access points to the beach and we were lucky enough to receive a spot at the back of the park. The restrooms access showers at the back of the park are heated, while the ones up front are not. I didn't like the reservation system as you don't get to see a map of the park or choose your spot. You just choose from pull-through or back in. Some spots do specify that they are "furthest from beach access". We did hear that some people have been disappointed in their spot as it was not what they thought they had reserved. We were lucky enough to not have that happen. The spots were just so close to each other! The beach was awesome! Not crowded and nice access. read more

We have stayed at this park before and enjoyed it this time when we hooked up to our water supply the PVC pipe broke later when we checked out we were charged a $25 fee with a somewhat cranky office person they were also mad because we moved the fire pit. Do not move the fire pits and hopefully your PVC plastic pipe doesn't break because you will be charge $25 read more

I'm only giving it 4 stars because it appears some of the packet information they give out when you check in needs to be update. It listed the office/store hours at 9-7, yet both nights we were there it appeared the office closed around 5. We tried to go have that both nights and it was closed. Additionally, we had an RV site and a tent site. The tent site (#10, which was freaking amazing) was not listed on the map we were given. Instead it was listed as site 40. I'm assuming they updated the site numbers, but they really should update the information they hand out as well. My only other complaint is that there are only 2 washing machines and 2 dryers per location, and the one I was closest to had a washing machine out of order causing people to line up in advance to get a load in. We stayed at the end of June and it was gorgeous. Our tent site was on the beach and the RV site was just a short walk. There are tide pools to explore at low tide, and there is plenty of beach for the children to play at. The park itself is well taken care of and clean. Overall, I definitely recommend this park, and if we ever end back up that way will consider it again. read more

Not sure where to start. We have enjoyed our half dozen or so visits prior to this Thanksgiving. In fact, our family rented three cabins and one RV site last thanksgiving. This year, we made reservations months in advance and paid the extra fee to reserve a specific space. The day of check in we arrived and were told we did not have a reservation. The argumentative employee told us it was our fault because we did not correct the email that was sent to us. I accept my portion of that responsibility, but after the third time of being accused my wife informed the woman that it was completely unprofessional to blame the customer and she should have apologized and moved forward with making the customer happy. (customer service 101) She also told us she would be taking over the managers duties. We agreed to park in a different space and made the best of it. We built a fire and visited outside until the torrential downpour typical of Coos bay this time of year began. We moved inside had dinner and went to bed listing to "Retro Rodney" playing in the yurt. In the morning, we decided to see if we were able to stay another day only to be told that we had complaints of being loud, our dog was off leash and our account had been blocked. The same employee said there was nothing she could do without a managers permission. Isn't she the manager? A couple of things. My Labrador is far better behaved then quite a bit of the kids that were running around and better than a few of the parents that were uh... parenting... Lets not neglect the fact that no less than 6 dogs were off leash in our vicinity AND they didn't seem to be a problem with anyone. If you need a place to stay for one night, this is a little out of your way. You may have a decent stay but, you wont be welcomed back. Walmart will be a better selection. Zero stars.
