Came on a busy Sunday around noon time. There was no one in line when I arrived but it shortly filled up. Service was fine. The only complaint with people I had was the impatient older man behind me in line, huffing and puffing because he disliked my toddlers and actually had to wait for once in his life. Ordered simple egg and cheese bagel sandwiches on an everything bagel and The Jose bagel sandwich. The egg and cheese bagel sandwiches were fine, despite the fake cheese. Bagels themselves were decent. Not sure what the weird white sauce was in the Jose-thought it was supposed to be cream cheese. It did not taste that good. The Jose has basically the same listed ingredients as the Caesar bagel sandwich from Seaside Bagel besides the hot sauce. The Caesar bagel sandwich from Seaside Bagel tastes way better in comparison. Maybe if my Jose sandwich had actual cream cheese then it would have tasted better. read more

Beach bagels has a gluten free bagel. I was able to get The Beast Bagel and it was excellent. The egg, bacon, spinach and Jalapeño cream cheese are perfectly paired to create an excellent breakfast. I ordered ahead and the bagel was ready and hot. The restaurant has a few tables for a quick breakfast. A very casual atmosphere but a can't miss for great bagel sandwiches. read more

My family and I are visiting from Northern California and had a chance to eat here for breakfast. I had a Veg Out sandwich on an Everything Bagel - oh man it was so good. It was fully loaded with veggie cream cheese, hummus, roasted red peppers, avocado, cucumber, and red onions. I'll dream about it. My husband got the Jose sandwich also on an Everything Bagel. He didn't offer me a bite - probably because it was so good. I'll have to try it next time. My kids got the Fruity Pebble bar and a chocolate brownie, with a side of bacon. They also got a chance to pick a toy from the treasure chest - they loved it! More places should have treasure chests! We'll definitely be back before our trip is over. Highly recommend! read more

As someone from New Jersey who is very passionate for a good bagel, the first time around was disappointing. I had ordered a blueberry bagel with blue berry cream cheese and it was a total mess, a true 4/10. Upon reflection of this experience we noticed they had pork roll and decided to give it one more chance, whereas I ordered a plain bagel with regular cream cheese (how could you mess that up?) and a pork roll egg and cheese whereas not much had changed. After a 15-20 minute wait the cream cheese was runny and messy and was impossible not to get it all over your hands, face and shirt. The bagel itself was small and pricey and untoasted despite asking for it to be toasted. The pork roll was also disappointing as the slices were paper thin, as if someone took a regular slice and split it into 3. Beach Bagels, if you're listening, thicker slices of pork roll next time, and please please consider a different cream cheese spread option! read more

Place is always busy and staff is excellent, patient explain the menu to all customers, while answering the phone for to go orders and the cooks are awesome! Absolutely the worst place... Unfortunately, my children wanted beach bagels this morning and its always a disaster from the beginning to the end. Today I called 12 times and was hung up on twice while trying to place an order. I finally got through, placed my order in which it was supposed to be done in 15 minutes, arrive and they had no record of my order. If I could, I'd give this place a 3.5 stars. The bagels themselves aren't that bad, but they are certainly not hitting the NY level. The cream cheese varieties are nothing to talk about, but the taste is fine. I got the jalapeño business sandwich and it was pretty good. Honestly, the prices aren't bad especially for the location, however, service was extremely slow. I ordered early online but still ended up waiting a very long time for my order. This is the best bagel shop in a 100 mile radius in my opinion. The bagels here rival any bagel in New York city. I stop here at least 3 times a week. I'm thankful that I can get a good bagel in Wilmington, North Carolina. Forget those negative reviews. A lot of young people work there and for a lot of them it's probably their first job. Customer should be treated well, but this is a quick service bagel restaurant. Good food, consistently good. Ignore the bad reviews. A friend and I were strolling around downtown Wilmington, and stumbled on to this place. I had to stop because of my crazy bagel obsession, although we'd already eaten at a different bagel shop for breakfast. I picked up a few to go -- the good: they had cheese and niche bagels, including sun dried tomato!! It's been YEARS since I've seen a sun dried tomato bagel, and it's one of my absolute favorites. So I snagged two of those and two cheese ones to go so that I could try them later. The not so great -- it took FOREVER to get service here. We were probably standing inside for near on 20 minutes, enough that both my friend and I were able to use the restroom and still be waiting in line. Then the bagels: not bad, certainly better than chains, but also not nearly the best I've had. Far more on the doughy side with not the right balance of light and airy. The flavor was good though, so I think the 3 1/2 stars this place is carrying is about on point. read more

the food is decent and fine, but the service is abysmal at all locations. you can tell management does not have enough staff, nor have they ever thought about their layout and order of operations. It is the only restaurant I know in town here employees intentionally delay orders to push customers out of the door. I have been going to this establishment for years. It was fantastic. However the last 2 times I visited the Wrightsville beach location, the food was awful. Last fall the bagels we got were so flat and clearly not cooked properly, that I took my toppings off and put them on my own bread at home. At my most recent visit, the last onion bagel had onion flakes that were clearly burnt. They looked at me like I was nuts when I said, "no thanks" and went with an everything instead. I paid extra for the veg cream cheese, which is delicious, and I literally got a schmeer. There wasn't even enough to make it to the last few bites. SO disappointed. read more

Simple little bagel shop right before you go over the bridge to Wrightsville Beach! We got lucky and there was no line but we had to wait for the employee to take a phone order before we could order. I'm glad the bagels were worth the wait. They have a good selection of bagels and options on their menu! We ordered The Beast and a Jalapeño Business with hash brown and a tea! The everything bagels are loaded with flavor with a lil crisp crust then a soft and chewy inside! They were loaded with a good amount of fixin's so it's a filling breakfast. I loved the taste of the cheddar cream cheese and avocado mixed together on the beast! The hash brown was pretty basic. My husband said his Jalapeño business had a good amount of heat and he'd get it again! We'll be back for breakfast before the beach again! read more

For the value and the convenience, this place is worth a visit. Good flavor combinations, but portions were rather small. This does have the atmosphere of a traditional bagel shop with tricky triangle games on the tables. The staff were kind and efficient. With that being said - Coffee was not cafe quality (visit Drift Cafe nearby for what should be the coffee standard). The bagels did not taste like New York bagels and I am still searching for a place around here that does it right unfortunately. read more

Driving by we saw this place and made a quick U turn! Coming in you could see all the delicious bagels and many wraps you can enjoy! The employees were all bubbly and friendly and it's diff a hip place! I love it and the food if only I could eat more! They have specials so be sure to check them out as you come in. The prices are very reasonable. Once you place your order it's not long before you are sitting down eating! They also have outside eating which is nice one area is on the side and the other is right in the front. Bathrooms are located inside men and woman. Not only do they have bagels , but be sure to check out their Cinnabon's! My gosh those things are huge and mouthwatering delicious! I'm in the service industry and I have to say never in my life have I been treated so poorly. I ordered door dash from them I ordered a Bacon Egg and Cheese and 2 bagels with cream cheese. Who in their right mind would ever make cream cheese on toast and serve it when it CLEARLY says Bagel w/cream cheese on the menu when you order. I understand that things happen and clearly I made a mistake ordering though when me and 3 other coworkers verified I wasn't crazy and it was beyond absurd the way they had it in Door dash. I called the place and I have never been treated so poorly the man who answered the phone honestly made me feel like he thought it was funny that it happened. Loved Beach Bagels! Though it's a small shop, they're able to accommodate large groups and crank out bagels quickly. I ordered the beast on an everything bagel and was not disappointed! The jalapeño cream cheese was very subtle, not as spicy as I would have liked but worked well for my friends who don't like spicy foods. The ingredients were fresh and the bagel had a nice crispy to it! The staff here were really friendly and nice, not sure why other reviewers made complaints about them but it could have just been one person. Overall, great spot for breakfast to go or if you want to dine in. They offer a lot of variety which is great for large groups. They also randomly offered free samples of their donuts which was nice. Id love to give this store a better review but i simply can't. It seems every time i order from them now i get even smaller portions of everything on my bagel. I ordered a cream cheese and bacon bagel and only one side had a thin smear of it in the middle along with two flimsy pieces of bacon that didn't cover but half of the bagel either. My partner requested a scooped bagel and that request is always ignored and never shown on the receipt. don't get me wrong the actual bagels themselves are good for NC, but it feels like i'm eating 90% bread and very little actual filling. Also they forget things in my order all the time. id say easily 70% of the time something is missing or incorrectly prepared. I understand that this place is busy but that doesn't mean they are required to slack on service. In summary: Over-rated bagels by the beach, service has only gotten worse over time unfortunately. read more

I had been looking forward to eating here for months! However, every time I pass it, it's in the afternoon, and the place closes at 2pm. I was finally free for lunch on Monday, and I went in. When I walked in, there was only one man at the counter. The direction of which way to form the line was on a small sheet of paper, and not easily marked. I found it, and got in line. However, as I was waiting for the man to order, another couple came in and went in the line in the opposite direction. I felt bad, but when I was my turn, I went ahead! Unfortunately, the young man at the counter didn't help. He had zero social skills. He didn't say, "Who's next?" or even, "How may I help you?" He simply looked at me when I stepped in front of him. This was very sad, for many reasons, but the number one reason being, the menu is on a big chalkboard behind the counter, and I didn't have enough time to look at it all when I walked in. Luckily, I'd previously checked out the menu on Yelp, but the sandwich I thought I wanted wasn't even listed! Ahhh! I asked the guy if they still had my sandwich. He checked the ordering screen, and he said yes. So I ordered that. He asked "anything else", and I simply ordered a bagel to go. I paid, he handed me the bagel, and then I just waited. For a long time. As I waited, I was really able to examine the chalkboard menu behind the counter. I got so frustrated! First of all, there were all different types of sandwiches that weren't online, which is fine, just annoying. However, what was really frustrating was that they offer a combo option with chips and a drink, that the young man didn't even mention! Typically at a sandwich place, the question of, "Do you want to add chips and a drink to that?" is fairly common. I had to wait a really long time for my sandwich to come out. So long in fact, I was able to eat my entire cinnamon raisin bagel right there in the restaurant. Finally the guy yelled my name (very brisk-ilke) for me to pick up my sandwich, that he had tossed on the counter. When I got home, my sandwich was good, but the whole rude experience by the staff makes me not want to go there again. read more
