Amazing experience for Korean-American paebaek We worked with Jessica and Sarah from BDK for our paebaek ceremony during our NYC wedding, and it was a highlight of our day. It was such a wonderful celebration of culture and family, and Jessica and Sarah did an incredible job helping us navigate the ceremony and making it fun and exciting for our 50+ guests, who were a mix of Koreans and non-Koreans. Jessica was incredibly communicative, and flexible with several changes we had to make in the lead-up to the wedding, and made the entire planning process feel seamless. read more

Jessica was so amazing to work with and was very flexible with my schedule. We had a new scheduling mishaps and had to cancel our paebaek photoshoot, but Jessica was kind enough to allow us to use the deposit money to rent a hanbok for the wedding. I am quite tall so the rentals were short on me, so they took my measurements and made a brand new dress for me to rent. I recommended BDK to all of my Korean friends for their celebrations. read more

My wife and I had our wedding celebration in Boston during Memorial day weekend of this year. As part of our celebration, we wanted to do the Korean paebaek ceremony, but we couldn't find any vendors in the Boston area to manage it. I mentioned this to one of my groomsmen, and he quickly did some research and found me BDK Mint. I reached out, and Jessica quickly responded back. Although they're based in PA, did you know they travel to other states, including MA?! We appreciated how responsive Jessica was to our questions regarding the ceremony as well as the logistics. The paebaek package was great since it was pretty all inclusive. On our wedding day, Jessica and her sister really did a great job guiding us and our guests through the entire process. We really appreciated that they MC'd in both Korean and English, so everyone could understand the background of the traditional ceremony. All of our guests raved about the paebaek, and they all mentioned how excited they are for us to potentially have 13 kids! We highly recommend Jessica and BDK Mint to run your paebaek ceremony during your wedding. You will not be disappointed! read more

We were thrilled to work with BDK Mint to organize our Paebaek for our wedding day! They were incredibly responsive and communicative throughout the process and were wonderful from start to finish. From the day of our fitting for our hanboks with Jeoung to the actual ceremony itself, we could not have asked for more. On the day of our wedding, Jessica and Sylvia were unforgettable hosts, both kind and energetic, putting any nerves we may have had to ease. They have perfected the art of running a paebaek, maintaining the importance of the traditions while also modernizing the experience. A large number of our guests were not Korean, but Jessica made sure to explain the meaning behind each paebaek custom and engage everyone who was present. On a day full of so many beautiful moments, our paebaek was one of the most memorable. We are immeasurably grateful to the entire team at BDK Mint. read more

Jessica and Jeoung were wonderful! My wife and I went to BDK Mint to help us plan our paebak, and make us some custom hanbok. The result was incredible. Jessica planned the whole ceremony, walked us through it, helped us prepare (shout out to Sylvia too!), setup a wonderful setting and MC'ed the whole ceremony to keep all my non-korean side of the family understanding what was going on. The custom hanboks made by Jeoung were amazing, and fantastic craftsmanship. While I thought I looked pretty damn good, my wife looked stunning. The whole process of helping pick the design and fabrics and everything was a great time, and they were very patient with us and make all the time needed to help us get the perfect outfits for the perfect day! read more

We had the honor of working with BDK Mint for our wedding this past Friday (9/20/24). Not only did they provide gorgeous rental hanboks for my grandmothers, they helped us pull off the full Paebaek ceremony in a very tight schedule and VERY last minute--these superstars got all our info/details, reached out to the venue and coordinated with the DJ and had it all ready to go in a 2 week timeline! (original plan to borrow the Paebaek hanboks fell through). Jessica and Sylvia were our MC and attendants and they were not only super personable and helpful but also very charismatic, flexible and generous with their time. From setup of the set, prepping us (even provided multiple hanbok options) and through the ceremony itself, they took authority over the process to make my husband and I feel comfortable and prepared for what was to come.  They made all necessary announcements to the party and even went so far as to assess the setup of our venue and strategize the most effective way to make an impactful impression to garner attention and interest to attend an otherwise optional event--so much so, that our ENTIRE wedding party ended up coming in to watch, leaving the venue staff to think our cocktail hour had ended (which it hadn't) Jessica did a fantastic job MCing the event, we had a multi-cultural crowd and she described everything so clearly and beautifully--even though I myself am Korean, I learned a lot! As a bonus, the energy of the Paebaek really primed our guests and got them in the right vibe for the rest of the night! Most of our non-Korean guests came up to say that watching the Paebaek was one of the coolest things they've ever witnessed and left loving and respecting the Korean tradition more than than they did beforehand (or at the very least learned about it). Sylvia was equally amazing through the entire process and especially at preparing my husband and I with what queues she'd provide us and any last minute instructions/tips before heading out.   Both were so helpful, kind and fun to be around that even in the hustle and bustle of things, we felt completely taken care of by them and at ease! They even made sure that we were always photo-ready and patiently waited for us to take additional photos after the ceremony ended, never once making us feel rushed. If you are considering including the Paebaek service in your wedding, we say, you absolutely should and it HAS to be with BDKMint.  Beautiful Hanboks, Beautiful Ceremony, Beautiful Service overall, it was well worth it and we'll have this memory for ever. 10,000 out of 10 recommend! Thank you again Jessica and Sylvia for this once-in-a-lifetime experience!! read more

It was such a joy to work with Jessica and her team to incorporate a Paebaek ceremony into our wedding! It was hands down one of the most fun and memorable parts of the whole night, our guests could not stop talking about it. From the start, Jessica was incredibly organized and responsive, helping to alleviate any concerns and anxieties we had about the ceremony. She and her staff were incredibly prepared and professional, we even ran ahead of schedule thanks to their help getting into our Paebaek outfits. Jessica is a phenomenal MC and the ceremony was so engaging and fun for the entire audience. Again, it was one of the highlights of our wedding, and we cannot say enough good things about BDK MINT! read more

Literally we would recommend BDK Mint to everyone! They are so organized, helpful, and super responsive. They answered all of our questions and made sure that everything went smoothly and seamlessly. From setting up for the ceremony to helping both of us put on the traditional garments. Everyone raved about the Paebaek Ceremony with BDK Mint! They even did such an amazing job explaining everyone in both Korean and English. It was so much fun and such an overall amazing experience. Even my husband who wasn't sure about having the ceremony had a blast! Cannot thank them both enough for everything!! read more

Jessica & her team at BDK Mint were so responsive, easy to work with, and accommodating. We wanted to have a Korean American ceremony blending both cultures, and they knew exactly what to do. They made sure both families and guests from both cultures felt comfortable and fully understood the ceremony. They traveled to Virginia and were punctual, professional and made us feel so comfortable with the paebaek ceremony. Our guests RAVED about the paebaek -- the ones who traveled from Korea were thrilled to see an Americanized version, and the ones who were from the U.S. loved being newly introduced to paebaek. I highly recommend! read more

My mama raised our family in Los Angeles, but I moved to Philly in my twenties and ended up getting married here. I flew my mama over from LA to meet my husband's family, and as a wedding gift, my mama insisted on getting us a Korean style blanket. Back in LA, this would've been maybe a $200 purchase, so I was okay with that. But in the Philly area, BDK is pretty much the only place you can purchase Korean blankets, so of course, my mom was incredibly shocked at the super high prices in comparison to what she was used to back home in LA. She couldn't justify spending twice as much on blankets that she knew wasn't worth it. So instead, somehow, the owners of this store pushed her to get us something nicer. An Italian bedsheet set, at the whopping cost of $1,500. I kept telling my mom to leave and that we don't need it, but the owner kept pushing and saying to let my mom be, she wants to buy us something nice for our big day. Anytime I would try to intervene, the owner brushed me off. Now, I have to add, my mama worked 14-16 hour days as a single parent raising 3 kids and didn't take a day off in 20 years. I could not STAND the thought of her spending $1,500 on bedsheets when she was barely making ends meet. And everytime I tried to stop her the owner would not let me discuss with my mom and basically pressured her to make this purchase. I get it, it's business, but I can't help but feel like my poor mama was guilt tripped into making this nonsensical purchase. It took her years to pay off this set. It's been 4 years since this purchase was made but I'm reviewing now because it still makes me want to cry when I think about it. read more

I can't say enough about my amazing experience at BDKmint! If you're in the market for a hanbok to purchase or rent, look no further! I decided super last minute that I wanted to wear a hanbok for my wedding portraits, and was panicking about finding something in time for our photoshoot back in April. Jess and her mom scheduled me for a fitting right away, and were both so patient with me as I tried on tons of different color combinations and customized silk embroidered add-ons to create the perfect dress to match my cherry blossom vision! I was worried the rental color and design options would be somewhat limited, as it wasn't a custom order and I only gave them one week's notice, but they worked their MAGIC! Jess and her mom were super attentive during the appointment, pulled out all the stops, and the final product was a dream come true! Not only are their hanboks reasonably priced compared to what I've seen back home in NY and NJ, but the quality is fantastic and the customer service is unparalleled. Jess in particular was incredibly communicative and helpful--I reached out to inquire about any florist recommendations she might have, and she sent over a list the same day! Truly an exceptional experience start to finish. Thank you BDKMint! read more

We hired BDK for our Korean ceremony (paebaek). I grew up in Bergen county, NJ and decided to work with BDK in Philly for various reasons. Jessica has a good solid business model. She had well written informative brochure/website that didn't leave us guessing. Best of all, she speaks English! It was challenging to find a reliable paebaek company with someone that can speak English. She narrates the entire ceremony. We opened up paebaek to all our guests. Paebaek was the highlight of our wedding. Her narration helped our non-Korean friends understand what was happening. Jessica is a great presenter and she kept the crowd very interested. Jessica and her company has a great reputation. If you are Korean and want to do paebaek, BDK is your best bet. read more

My husband was adopted from Korea as an infant and raised in Upstate NY. We wanted to honor and incorporate his Korean heritage with the paebaek. Working with Jessica in the planning process was simple. And their professionalism was outstanding. The ceremony we did during our rehearsal dinner, and it was a treasure. It was well narrated in English, as everyone at our event had never experienced this ceremony before. Many of our groomsmen and friends were also adopted Koreans, and they were so in awe and proud of the Korean culture they originated from. It was a beautiful and initimate way to start out our wedding weekend with our family. read more

wonderful experience!! We got hanbok rentals for me and my mom along with the full paebaek package. Everyone commented on how fun the ceremony was and were so impressed by how professional and funny Jessica was. Both English and Korean speakers felt at home in the ceremony! My in laws are American but they felt like they knew what to do at all times bc the MC-ing was so seamless. And the hanbok! Both my mom and I were so pleased with her hanbok. I had gone in to get mine fitted and altered but we had to do my moms all remotely. I was nervous but the end result was perfect! My mom looked so cute and beautiful. Everyone was commenting on how beautiful she looked. If you are looking for a paebaek ceremony please go with bdk mint. Loved the experience! And if you're on the fence about doing a paebaek -- I say go for it!!! Seriously. It was so fun and different and I loved learning more myself about the ceremony. Parents on both sides really loved being able to say some pearls of wisdom and it was just a lovely event. read more

We ordered a custom hanbok though BDK Mint and had nothing but top-notch service each step of the way. Even the virtual consultation ( due to our living two states away) and measurement session was seamless with the staff's guidance. BDK Mint was extremely helpful in ensuring I, father of the groom, was able to match my wife's hanbok for a unified look. We will direct all of our hanbok needs for us, our children and grandchildren to BDK Mint. read more

Jessica and the bdk mint team were amazing to work with! From the date we booked them for our Pae Baek to the date of our wedding (nearly a year later), they were professional, courteous, and extremely helpful in every way. I had a lot of questions as I had never seen a Pae Baek ceremony in person, but Jessica walked me through everything from start to finish with expertise. When I was unsure of where the ceremony should be held, she communicated directly with our on-site coordinator to find the perfect site for the ceremony, and made sure no detail went overlooked. On the day of, even when the weather threw a wrench in our plans, she executed Plan B without even a blink of an eye. She and the soomo explained what would happen during the ceremony, helped us dress in the traditional outfits, and even showed us how to bow properly. I was blown away by how fun the ceremony itself was. Jessica narrated the entire thing in both Korean and English, and kept all of our guests engaged and thoroughly entertained. Many have said the Pae Baek was a highlight of the wedding and something they'll never forget! My husband's family, who are Irish, really enjoyed getting to experience some of my family's culture firsthand, and I really treasured getting to share it with them. I would recommend Jessica and bdk mint to anyone looking to have a Pae Baek ceremony as part of their wedding! read more

BDK is amazing! My wedding is in DC and the fact they travel is incredible in itself (they travel from Boston to NC). My family and friends enjoyed watching us. There were some comical parts, which was a pleasant surprise! They are so professional, flexible, friendly, easy to work with... I could keep going but pretty much- perfect! Thank you for adding the cherry on top to my wedding def recommending them to everyone! read more

5 stars does not do BDK MINT justice, and it was my privilege as a micromanaging bride to work with a vendor as responsive, caring and fun to work with as BDK MINT/Jessica. If you have any hesitation whatsoever about using BDK MINT as your paebaek vendor, please give them a call because all it takes is one phone call with Jessica to realize that there simply is NO other paebaek vendor with BDK MINT's professionalism or showmanship. I had my hesitations about doing paebaek at all. Most of my Korean friends were not doing a paebaek ceremony, and I was not sure whether hiring a vendor from Philly for a paebaek ceremony in NY was smart or efficient. I could not have been more wrong. BDK MINT put on an AMAZING SHOW at my wedding. The majority of the guests at my wedding had no idea what a paebaek was, and Jessica/BDK MINT's set up and English explanations during the ceremony were not only DOWNRIGHT HILARIOUS but also incredibly informative. My husband and I keep talking about how much we learned and how much fun we had during the paebaek ceremony. BDK MINT's rendition of the paebaek ceremony also served as the best icebreaker for my wedding guests. Our wedding was a black tie affair, and there is no doubt that seeing the bride piggyback the groom and take love shots in rainbow costumes was the perfect way for our guests to loosen up and laugh. I also highly recommend paebaek as a way to make grandparents or close aunt/uncles feel included on your special day. Our facebook/instagram newsfeeds have been blowing up with pictures of our brightly colored outfits, and our friends cannot stop talking about it. Lastly, in terms of logistics, BDK MINT IS A DREAM. BDK MINT was early and extremely savvy with regards to the tight timeline on our wedding day. Our paebaek order changed at the last minute (because of the groom's parents' requests), and BDK MINT found a way to include the groom's uncle and aunt without running overtime. My husband and I had Paebaek ceremony with BDK Mint and they were so easy to work with and provided us fun experience! We made Paebaek public to our guests during reception and everyone LOVED and enjoyed seeing that!! Communication was so prompt and smooth, they were very organized and professional, so definitely I would recommend as they would make your wedding planning lives much much better! read more

Jessica and her team were amazing! They helped me select my wedding hanbok, translate invitations, and create a paebaek ceremony that met the needs of our blended family. The translations between Korean and English were fantastic. All of our guests felt included and excited to witness such a special event. BDK Mint was professional and extremely responsive. They arrived early, were patient when we were running late to start and were not bothered when additional people were added to the ceremony at the last minute. I am extremely happy with our event and wouldn't hesitate to recommend BDK Mint - they were the BEST! read more

Doing paebaek with bdk was one of the best decisions we made at our wedding! Both non-Koreans and Koreans were intrigued. It gave a perfect opportunity for our parents (who did not want to make a toast speech) to officially bless us in a more comfortable setting. Through paeback we were not only able to establish another layer of meaningful connection to our parents, but also invite all the guests who weren't familiar with Korean tradition to join and bless the new bond between two families. We had zero practice, but with Jessica's help everything ran easily and naturally. We sincerely cannot thank them enough. Thank you so much!! read more

This is a great place not just for all things paebaek but also for Korean traditional wedding dresses. I came to BDK because I wanted a traditional style of dress but still conforming to the Western white wedding gown. The ladies at BDK helped me to choose the right colors and style, and had me come in for a few fitting sessions (since I only live about 15 minutes away). The price is very reasonable, especially for a beautiful and original dress made from scratch and just for you. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a unique wedding dress! read more
