Love love love the dress my stylist Iris picked out! I was able to send her Pinterest pictures and gave an idea of what I was looking for. Only trying on 6 dresses, I had a hard time choosing which dress I loved most! Iris was amazing and so was the rest of the staff. My sister, who works as a nurse at Pennsylvania hospital couldn't have been more impressed by the covid precautions taken place. As we arrived my party had to wash our hands first, then we moved on to our secluded area. We were only allowed to have 3 of us there so the rest my sisters face timed in. If you would like to have more than two people with you, you can have a private showing and have more people with you for a fee. The entire staff team was humorous and a delight to deal with. I purchased my wedding dress at The Wedding Factor yesterday and had such a terrific experience the whole time! I found a dress on Instagram that I knew I needed to try on and when I called the store to see if they had it in stock, they made time for me the very next day to come in and try it on! I met with Lucy and Sarah who are truly wonderful! Lucy pulled out the dress I was looking for along with two other similar style dresses just so I could compare all of them. As soon as I put the one I had been looking at on, I knew it was "the one!" I came back yesterday with my mom and sister and they agreed on my decision. I went to a a couple of other stores previously and while they were all great, the experience at The Wedding Factor is unrivaled. The store is beautiful and the fitting rooms are private and spacious. I also appreciated that they had shoes, bouquets, and accessories so you could try on your dress and really feel like you would on your wedding day. You are not able to take photos of the dresses until you officially say "yes to the dress" so make sure you bring your support system with you! If I could give the staff 0 stars I would. I am a labor and delivery nurse during a pandemic. I deliver babies and if a mom is positive, she still needs to deliver. As you might imagine, in the hospital during said pandemic, I have COVID+ patients and have full PPE (negative pressure room, PAPR, the works.) Because of my profession I was about to be denied entry to my only sister's wedding dress fitting. She lives across the country and had 2 negative tests. I understand the situation fully, but it is horrible to treat healthcare professionals this way. I am fully protected at all times and this is my job. I don't get to choose to turn people away as a nurse. I take care of everyone. The staff was not particularly understanding... I'm a nurse. I cannot say I have not been exposed, and I was honest about that. I don't believe I have. We are bearing the brunt of the pandemic as nurses. Now we are being turned away from outside life. Am I supposed to assume that zero nurses or hospital workers are getting married? It took talking to the owner to let me in. read more

I originally met Lucinda during the Philly Wedding Stroll and I knew that I wanted to work with her for my reception dress. She was very open, had a contagious smile and I could tell she was a gentle soul. It was important to me to have someone who would listen and be comforting as I was going to be doing this without my mom. Upon arrival Lucie and her team were very kind and helpful. I immediately felt comfortable with them from the warmth they provided to my love ones and I. I believe I tried on 5 dresses in total and out of the five fell in love with dress #3 and dress #4. I retried on both to figure out which I loved the most and during this whole process Lucie was the sweetest and most patient person ever! I then learned that dress #4 was the one! Adding accessories such as the veil, bouquet, and heels really helped me seal the deal too as it all felt so surreal. My wedding dress is drop dead gorgeous and I look phenomenal in it and cannot wait for my wedding day to come so my soon to be husband can see me in it. Once I said "Yes to the dress" and my family and I did enough crying we was provided champagne. The champagne is amazing, I just had to put that out there, lol. This place would be amazing if they tailored to the bride... at all. After sending in excessive information about my wedding day, submitting my pinterest board and having an in person consult I tried on only one dress that fit my specifications. Other than that I only tried on 4 more dresses. All with big details I said I did not like. Also, they only allowed one guest but did not allow photos. During a pandemic, places like this need to be more accommodating to the bride who can't share this day with everyone she wishes she could. Only one mirror as well. I had to twist and turn to see the back of my dresses and had to spin all around to simply see a different angle. On top of this, I could not pick out any dresses for myself. They were all picked by the stylist. For dresses so expensive you would want the bride to try on things that catch her eye. read more

Hi all! I had an excellent experience working with Iris here. I'm a size 18, which I indicated when I called to schedule my appointment. Everyone I spoke and interacted with was accommodating to my size needs and desire to have dresses to try on during my visit (unlike many shops that indicate they carry plus sizes but have nothing for you to try in store). The appointment was fun and relaxed. I had the chance to try on about 8 dresses and even found the dress that I ended up getting! I had a great experience wedding dress shopping with Iris. She was so helpful in making me feel heard and of course beautiful. Unfortunately, I didn't get my dress at The Wedding Factor, mainly because it was my first appointment of the shopping weekend. Noteable that we weren't allowed to take pictures so I had trouble remembering what the dresses I liked looked like. I really enjoyed the dressing room area and how close it was to the seating area that my family was sitting in, they even give you a really cute robe to put on. The staff, all fully masked, were professional, friendly and over the top helpful in finding us my daughter's dream wedding dress. Our stylist, Iris, was exceptional. Out of the 5+ bridal salons I've been to in the Philly area, The Wedding Factor was the worst experience. One of the first things the consultant told me was that I could only try on 6 dresses. That made me feel unwelcome, like they just wanted to churn appointments. By the time I was done dress #6 we were only 45 minutes in to the appointment, but was told we were done. read more

While I did find my dream wedding dress here and for that, I am so thankful. I wouldn't describe my experience as the best. Mind you this is a year and a half into covid so that does account for some of my experience. I went to three wedding dress shops in the city on this day. All required masks and only allowed 3 guests to accompany the bride. The Wedding Factor was the only place where pictures were not allowed. I felt very pressured at the Wedding Factor to buy my dress on the spot which I did not experience at any other shop. I am indecisive so I was back and forth about the dress because there was another dress I liked a lot at another shop but I was not able to think about it because as I said, I felt pressured to buy the dress on the spot. I felt buyer's remorse afterward because I could not remember what I looked like in the dress after I bought it and could only look back at the runner-up dress. I also was considering canceling my appointment at the Wedding Factor because I thought I found my dress but it was also the only shop that charged a substantial cancellation fee. I did find my dress that day which would not have happened had I canceled so that is a good thing. They probably could fill that spot with someone who would buy otherwise, so I understand the fee while they were the only shop with it. I also felt pressured to buy the expensive veil that I tried on with the dress. I said no originally but then she discounted it slightly so I ended up buying it and when I reached out to cancel, she said it was too late. I never did end up wearing the veil I bought that day. Ultimately, I am very happy with the dress I wore on my wedding day and I'm sure they have reasons for their policies but these are some of the things that didn't sit right with me that I wanted to share. read more

A disclaimer about me: I'm not a huge fan of weddings. Even when it was time to plan my own, my dream wedding would have consisted of going to City Hall and signing some paperwork. Having said that, a few years ago, I promised my grandmother that if I were to ever get married, I would return to Italy (my birthplace), to do it, so that she and the rest of my family could be there to celebrate. Unfortunately, she passed away last year, but after getting engaged, I knew that the wedding would have to be in Italy in her honor and memory. Fast-forward to around a year ago this month. I started my search for a wedding dress. I looked around online to get some ideas of what was out there. I didn't really have anything too specific in mind because I knew that what you saw in magazines & online would look totally different after you went to try the same dresses on. One weekend, my parents came down to visit me from Boston, so I made a few different appts. at various dress shops in and around the city. When we arrived at shop #1 and saw the dark windows, you could imagine my bewilderment. It was CLOSED, even though I had an appt. I had no idea what was going on. I didn't want to waste a whole day since my parents travelled specifically to go dress shopping. I quick yelped 'wedding dress shops' and The Wedding Factor came up. I called to see if there was any way we could check it out not having an appt. at all. The woman on the phone was very friendly and said to stop in. I had never heard of The Wedding Factor, and when I tried to picture the area (mostly residential), I had no idea there was a wedding dress shop there. When we arrived, I was a little nervous about it because it was small. My image of a wedding dress shop had always been a big showroom with racks filled with gowns. I was skeptical walking in and seeing one small rack of dresses. The shop itself was very well decorated and clean; like a high-end boutique. The woman who helped us, Kathy, was very welcoming. Before starting, she let us know that her shop only carried one designer, Berta (from Israel), and that because it's very specific, it may not be for everyone. I had never heard of Berta and for a split second, I thought, ok, well this is probably going to be a bust. Since we walked there from Center City, I just decided to make the best of it, and even if I didn't find anything, it might be a fun time. After asking some questions about myself, and what I liked, Kathy started to pull some dresses from the rack. At first glance, I didn't think I would like any of them. Some had long sleeves and others didn't seem like styles I would like. Well, on with the first one, a dramatic, beaded long-sleeve gown. When I came out from behind the curtain, none of us could believe our eyes. The dress was GORGEOUS. It fit relatively well and looked fabulous. Berta's sample sizes are on the smaller side, better suiting my small frame so there was no need to pull, bunch and clip the fabric onto my body. I could see how the dress was supposed to look without using my imagination. Another great thing about these dresses is that they are all very unique. I had never seen anything like them in magazines or on any other bride. I tried on about 6 dresses, one more beautiful than the other (which is hard to say because all of them were truly beautiful in their own way). Kathy was there the whole time, helping me in and out of each dress, pairing them with veils, and accessories. She let us take all the pictures we wanted and even took some herself. She managed to make me feel excited, special and beautiful for the 2-3 hours we spent there. I pretty much knew that the 3rd dress I tried on was the one, but I couldn't help trying on the others. The dresses are on the higher end of the price spectrum, which makes sense because of the quality of the fabrics, hand-beading, intricate designs and detail. Before making a final decision, I still wanted to go to my next appt. the next day just to keep my options open. After a pretty meh morning in a large showroom with a barrage of dresses, terrible service (on top of NOT being allowed to take photos), and lack-luster gowns that had to get pulled and clipped to fit, I was 110% positive that the Berta gown was the one. The next day we went back to see Kathy and also got to meet Stacey, (Kathy's sister & partner) who is just as friendly and helpful as Kathy, and the rest is history. My wedding was at the end of Aug in Rome and I'm still getting compliments on my dress everyday and how it's the most beautiful dress anyone has ever seen. So thank you Kathy and Stacey for having made the whole wedding dress process fun and having helped me feel beautiful on my big day! I also want to thank the first wedding dress shop for being unexpectedly closed because had it been open, I probably would never have known about The Wedding Factor. Do I believe in fate? Yes, I do! I woke up yesterday dreading the idea of driving into Philly to try on wedding dresses. I told my fiancé that I'd be happy to get married in the woods wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Shopping for fancy dresses, let alone a wedding gown, with my mother, sister, and aunt in tow, was not my idea of a good time... Well, that all changed when we walked into The Wedding Factor. Kathy and Stacey welcomed me and my family into their shop, made us feel at home, and then proceeded to caringly and expertly help me try on the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen. They exclusively carry Berta gowns and, ladies, they are gorgeous. I definitely didn't think I was a girl who'd cry when she found her dress (I didn't even want to wear one!), but apparently I am - and Kathy and Stacey were there to offer up the tissues and prosecco! I can't speak highly enough about the selection and service at the Wedding Factor. Stacey and Kathy knew just when to make suggestions and offer advice. They were never overbearing and there was absolutely no pressure to buy. They gave me and my family a wonderful experience! If I weren't living in Boston and getting married in upstate NY, I'd be looking into their wedding planning services, too! This place is small and on the initial walk in seems like they wouldn't have much to offer but the dresses are amazing (MUCH different on than the impression you get while they are on the hangers) and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this vendor to anyone, friend or foe. The company lacks the requisite professionalism, honesty and integrity to resolve disputes. The old adage "you get what you pay for," simply does not apply here. You may pay a high pay and still receive sub-par products and service. Specifically, the "couture level of quality" advertised by this company and Berta Bridal simply are not reflected in the actual product. The sample gowns are "unique and distinguished from anything else out there," but the gown itself, in real life, falls short of the advertisements. The worse part is that this company lacks the basic professionalism and business acumen to address these shortcomings and product defect. read more

This was my first wedding gown shopping experience and it was fantastic! I was looking for bridal gowns in Philly area and came across the wedding factor on yelp. I went there with my friends and upon entering the store realized that there was not a big selection of dresses to try on. But all the dresses are absolutely gorgeous and beautifully made. They only carry Berta- the dresses are so unique and they look so much better when you try them on. The owners were so nice and patient and provided helpful advice. They were not pushy at all in terms of making a purchase right away. They also carry a beautiful selection of veils and accessories. If you are looking for unique and beautifully made bridal gowns or accessories this is the place to go! But keep in mind they only carry One brand. I made a day trip from DC to Philly to visit a few shops in the area to hunt for my dress. My first stop was this charming boutique and I can't say enough good things. It's a small shop but you will be the only customer so the attention is completely on you. Kathy and Stacey were so incredibly sweet and welcoming. They made me feel comfortable and offered suggestions on different looks. They even let me take the flowers out of their vase to complete the wedding look when I put on the last dress. The Wedding Factor was our first stop for wedding dress shopping. Suffice it to say the bride left in tears. To start, the only size that was available to try on dresses was a 2!!! (which really means a 00 as wedding dresses run two sizes small.) Certainly this fact should have been stated at the time of scheduling the appointment. Considerable pressure was applied to attempt to try on the dresses anyway which, of course, was a disaster. Except for one dress which was made of spandex, the other dresses didn't make it up over the bride's hips. Note: the bride is a size 6-8. To make matters worse, the sales person wanted to just hold the dresses up in front of the bride. The sales people were polite, certainly not warm or friendly. They didn't even apologize for the size issue. Instead, they kept blaming the designer. Thankfully our next stop was a much better experience. So, unless the bride is a runway model, clarify before scheduling an appointment! read more
