There were other makeup artists that day for the bridesmaids and they weren't as good. They can also help you fix your bridesmaid's dress if it's a little too long or too loose the day of the wedding (just minor adjustments). Fantastic package deal. I waited quite a bit to write my review because I wanted to be able to evaluate their services from start to finish. First meeting- met with Kiya (more comfortable speaking Mandarin, but can also speak English). Very sweet and patient. Nicole helped us as well. Both ladies offered suggestions after listening to our needs. There was no pressure to sign up for a package immediately, which I appreciated as a lot of these places tend to use high pressure sales tactics to get you to put a deposit down. I felt that they were very genuine and that they actually cared about making our big event the best it could be. Kiya helped us select wonderful photographers,MC, DJ, and makeup artists: - I highly suggest Even (photographer), as he is efficient and does amazing work (utilizes the best angles to eliminate other people in photos). He gets booked very quickly though, so try to reserve him right away. We were only able to get him for our outdoor photoshoot. Our day-of photographer/videographer were Stephen & James (I think). They were nice and took detailed photos that I appreciated (e.g. pic of rings, reception sign-in table, favors, etc.). I haven't gotten a chance to see the video yet though, so no comment on that. - MC Emily and DJ Jacky brought great energy to our party. Emily picked out some fun games that got everyone laughing. She speaks English and Chinese. - Their makeup artist, Belinda, is amazing! I wish she could do my makeup all the time! :) She does wonderful work and you can see some examples on her facebook page. She did my makeup for our outdoor photoshoot and the makeup stayed put all day long in the summer heat. She's also good with hair! Unfortunately, she had an emergency and wasn't able to do my makeup on the day of. They called to tell me in the morning, which made me stressed out, but the other makeup artist, Mei Lin (not sure if this is how her name is spelled), did a pretty good job too. *Some of these vendors can be booked directly, but if you're in a hurry, you can do their package to save time. read more

We had a "western" style wedding and I worked with Ula at Paris (she speaks both English and multiple dialects of Chinese). She was extremely helpful and responsive every single step of the way. Without her, I don't think I would have gotten everything together. I did not do a package, instead I rented a wedding dress, a mandarin qipao, hired a make up artist, MC, and DJ through Paris; and when our old decorator pulled out at the last minute, Ula eased the stress with a new recommendation 1 month away. 1. Dress selection is limited, and it did cost more than I expected to rent, but I don't regret not needing to have to store a giant dress in my tiny Manhattan apartment. The seamstress was very nice to work with, though I think she only speaks Chinese. 2. Make up artist was Crystal! She was so great. She traveled all the way up to Morningside Heights with her giant suitcase and did a phenomenal job. My schedule is difficult and Ula was able to work with me to secure a make up trial with Crystal a couple months before the wedding. It was extremely helpful to have a make up trial beforehand, so I do recommend it, even if it costs more. 3. JJ was my MC and I had a couple of guests come up to me to tell me how great she was going in between English and Mandarin. My friends speaks english but family members do not, so hiring JJ was such a win. She called us a month before and planned out an itinerary, which we ended up not following the day of, but she was able to play it by ear and made the night very fun. 4. DJ was James Vincent, who knew how to work the crowd. Lots of dancing, which was what we wanted. So overall, it was a great experience having a one- stop shop for all of our extra-venue vendors. I did not use their photographer/videographers since I had a recommendation from a friend (I wanted to be able to work with the same photographer for our engagement shoot and our wedding day-- so that they get to know you). Out of all the wedding companies in the area, I have to say that this is one of the best that there is. Service was extremely comfortable and soothing. The whole atmosphere made me feel very relaxed. As a wedding is one of the biggest moments in ones life, each and every decision has to be planned out perfectly and precisely. Here at Laffection wedding, it does just that. This wedding studio is the 2nd affordable place in main street. All staff members are nice and genuine. There are a few things i want to point out in case other people do decide to go forward. It's not bad it just needs improvements on. 1. Parents' formal wear- limited, especially the qipiao. It should be fine if the grooms' and bride's parents are willing to find a different substitute. 2. MC and DJ first before the event- my slide show was ruined, because either they had a faulty machine or the person operating the slideshow was not a professional. L'affection did a great slideshow and it was in the package that I purchased. Only negative thing was it was never played. I do recommend everyone to double check with the MC and DJ before the wedding. 3. Even though there are more interests on the outdoor pictures rather than the indoor pictures, my experience tells it otherwise. My indoor pictures were taking downstairs in the studio and each and everyone of the pictures came out wonderful. The outdoor pictures...well.. let's just say I chose more of my indoor pictures than the outdoors for my complete album set. 4. The day of the wedding pictures came out okay but not the best. These pictures literally came out looking similarly to the same images that my expensive camera would take. I did not see the difference. The outdoor picture and the day of wedding pictures were both taken by the same person. I won't say a name because I am not here to ruin someone's reputation. But I do wish that he would get a little more experience. 5. A month or two I received the DVD's/ CD of the wedding. The DVD/ CD did not completely work. I was trying to bring the files on to my desktop and some files were corrupted. The DVD/ CD should really be checked before handing it out. But so far with the previous DVDs/CDs I received prior to the wedding they were all great and functioning. Despite my comments here and there I still think L'affection is a good place to go to and it is at a decent price based on your choice of package. read more

Mandi is our salesperson who has been very helpful and accommodating since the beginning. I like how their turnaround time is quick. We took outdoor photos at Planting Fields in April and they already sent me the raw versions in May! I just purchased the photo package without the wedding entertainment and videography so probably that was the reason it was faster. I like their selection of dresses and they were very patient while I chose and tried on different dresses. They also present you with different options for taking outdoor or indoor photos. On the day of the shoot, I had a short haired girl do my makeup, she didnt greet me nor tried to communicate with me since she probably didnt know english and I didnt know mandarin. Towards the end when she was finishing up , she dabbed my entire face including eyes and nose areas so freaking hard with the makeup sponge I felt annoyed. I didnt say anything because I thought she would stop soon. But she continued doing it for 3 minutes. When I changed from my wedding gown to my second dress it was very difficult because I had nobody to help me and I had to do it myself in the restroom at the park. I don't know how others but I just thought it could've been handled better. I would give this place five stars but just didnt have a good experience with the makeup service and changing at the park but overall the album and frame came out nice. read more

After shopping all over Flushing for a wedding package, L'affection was the answer to my prayers. For starters, their service is impeccable. Jenny was my salesperson, and she treats you with the utmost kindness. There are no high pressure sales, rather, they talk to you to alleviate any stresses you may have as a bride. I really want to share a sincere thanks to her for her professionalism and helpfulness. Once you're ready to try on dresses, you will see that they have a very extensive collection for brides, mothers, and bridesmaids. You'll feel glamorous trying on their new Mori Lee collection, as the lace trains trail behind you. [They update their dresses often.] You can also select from traditional to modern-day qi paos. I pretty much spent half the day here attempting to say Yes to a dress after feeling like a princess. THe dressing rooms are spacious and clean. Additionally, I have 5 bridesmaids, which is typically larger than most parties for Asian weddings. However, once again, L'affection came to the rescue with beautiful pale peach dresses for my bridesmaids. Half the battle for the wedding is feeling beautiful in your dress. Horrible business people. Previous owner Fiona sold it to new owner. New owner doesn't get along with old employees. Holding hostage on the product that the customers already paid for. They wanna sue each other so new owner is recruiting the old customers to sue the old employees. Old employees wanna sue the new owner for the money that old owner owed them so they won't give up all the pictures and photos that customers already paid for once in their life time moment. Both sides finger pointing each other. No one is taking responsibility nor no one has enough decency to take care the old customers because old owner already made the money as well as old employees. Such a selfish and cut throat typical business people doing bad business. I wish themselves and their family their children will have to go thru what their customers went thru when they get married. We gave them good gratuity because we expect a good service. All we got it no service for thousands of dollars and hundreds of tip. Video cameraman Zoey and photographer Yao who shot the video and photos and the new owner Max & Yvonne, all of them are in this for guilty as charged. Our wedding was done in 2020 Feb and almost a year now. I m so sure one of them has our video and photos but their selfishness cloud their judgement doing the business practice to be sincere with customer. I don't have time to take them to court. I wish I could. I would take all of them for taking people money and gave no service/ product. First of all, don't trust the five-star reviews here. People are incentivized to post a five-star review in exchange for a $100 discount. I went into the store today trying to pick out my wedding dress. The employee first asked me to check out the pictures on their computer. After I decided the dress I would like to try on, I asked her if I can try them on in store. She said you can pick five or six dresses at most to try on and only if you tip the person helped you. It took me a long time to view the pictures and decide. What's crazy is she said I can't try them on today because they are fully scheduled. I can only choose to leave and make an appointment. She could've told me the second I walked in instead of giving me this horrible experience. read more

3 years in and my wife and i never did the picture thing. Then she found this company. We went in and were intrigued just by walking through the front door. I never knew how much work went into taking photos and what was needed from us. After she chose what package she wanted. we went downstairs and chose 3-4 outfits each. The selection varies from regular tuxedos to traditional chinese outfits. The entire basement is one big closet. They then fitted us and made the necessary sizing to make it tailored to our body. A couple days passed and its our appointment date for the photo shoot. We dressed up in one of the attires and both, yes both, sit in the makeup chair and made us up for celebrity status. When that was done, the mrs and i, along with the outfits had to go to our photo shoot, somewhere in nassau/queens border, I forgot where, and we entered this building that looked like a normal office building and through a hallway of doors and enter, THE MATRIX. each room had different designs. An Indoor carousel, clock the size of big ben, piano room, library, outside garden, cars, day room, etc. so about 12 hours later, yeah, long day, and about 500-600 photos later, we go home and await the finished product. about 2 months in i think we get a picture frame the size big enough to hang above a fireplace (cue the batman jokes). A nice glass top album and several photos. Not bad at all, for the price we got it was actually less than what we probably would have gotten if we went somewhere else. It cant get any better than this...ask my wife....lol read more
